You can now admire preserved in the form of a permanent ruin remains of the castle from the end of the thirteenth century. The first mention of the castle called Grodno come from 1315 years, the Castle was governed then margrave Kilian. It was erected on a hill above the gneissic Bystrica by Prince swidnicko-Jawor Bolek And in the Gothic style, and shortly after, in the middle of the fourteenth century, expanded by his successor Bolek II. Even at the end of this century, after the death of Princess Agnes in 1392 years, became part of the Czech state, and at the beginning of the fifteenth century belonged to the Knights of robbers. In the years 1443-1450 the owner of the castle was John Puczek, hence making robberies. From the mid-fifteenth century to 1535 years has been family owned Czetryców, then ten years he was in the hands of the Hochberg family. Since they bought the castle of the von Maciej Logau (with Lagow of Lubusz Land). Under the rule of the family, the castle was rebuilt into a fortified Renaissance chateau. Reconstruction of Maciej Jerzy son graduated in 1587. From this period in addition to the fortification dates back to the gatehouse, a porch with parapets and north courtyard.

During the Thirty Years War the castle was damaged. In 1680, the owner of the castle was John Eben, then there was a siege of the fortress by the peasants rebelled against too high powinnościom court. Since then, the castle began to fall into disrepair and the last owners left him in 1774. It was not until half a century later, in 1824, began the restoration work. They made their Zeydlitzowie, the last owners of the castle. In 1869 the tower was burned down after a lightning strike.
