The manor is originally a Renaissance building. It is two-storey with a cellar and has a floor plan of the irregular U type and has a two-wing layout. There are two corner towers on the front wing. In the middle of the front wing, an entrance portico with a balcony was added. It was baroqued in the 18th century.The interior has partially preserved the Renaissance cross vaults and a lunette vault with a stucco pattern. There is a re-education facility in the manor.

Kaštieľ je pôvodne renesančnou stavbou. Je dvojpodlažný s pivnicou a má pôdorys typu nepravidelného U a má dvojtraktovú dispozíciu. Na čelnom krídle sú dve nárožné veže. V strede čelného krídla bol pristavaný vstupný portikus s balkónom. V 18. storočí bol zbarokizovaný.V interiéri sa čiastočne zachovali renesančné krížové klenby a lunetová klenba so štukovým obrazcom. V kaštieli sa nachádza reedukačné zariadenie.

The manor house in Chalmová was built in the first half of the 17th century, on the site of an older medieval building, probably a fortress. For a time it was the seat of the Detrich family. The building was baroqued in the 18th century. It was most significantly rebuilt in the 19th century, when it widened its walls and acquired classicist elements. It was renovated in the mid-1940s by its last owner, who inhabited the manor. It was August Haupt-Stummer von Tavarnok and his family. In 1966, an educational facility was established here - a youth home. In 1972/73, the youth home was renamed the Youth Education Institute. In 1976, an apprenticeship school was established at the educational institution for young people. The facility was being built and enlarged. In 1993, a superstructure was built in the right wing of the manor house, to which the vocational school had already moved. Since April 2004, the manor has served as a reeducation center.

Kaštieľ v Chalmovej bol postavený v prvej polovici 17. storočia, na mieste staršej stredovekej stavby, pravdepodobne pevnosti. Istý čas bol sídlom rodu Detrich. Objekt bol zbarokizovaný v 18. storočí. Najvýraznejšie ho prestavali v 19. storočí, keď rozšírili jeho múry a získal klasicistické prvky. Renovovaný bol v polovici 40-tych rokov 20. storočia jeho posledným majiteľom, ktorý kaštieľ obýval. Bol to August Haupt-Stummer von Tavarnok so svojou rodinou. V roku 1966 tu bolo zriadené výchovné zariadenie - domov mládeže. V roku 1972/73 bol domov mládeže premenovaný na Výchovný ústav pre mládež. V roku 1976 bola zriadená pri výchovnom ústave pre mládež učňovská škola. Zariadenie sa budovalo a zveľaďovalo. V roku 1993 bola vybudovaná nadstavba v pravom krídle kaštieľa, do ktorej sa presťahovalo už vtedy odborné učilište. Od apríla roku 2004 slúži kaštieľ ako reedukačné centrum.
