Former Gothic castle is the pearl of the royal town of Litoměřice. Located right in the historical city center, only a few dozen meters from the Peace Square. The heart of the castle is a modern exhibition, which is a tourist attraction not only for wine lovers. Interested parties can also visit the tasting room with original stone tiles and vaulted ceilings adjoining the cellar, where the wine archive is located. Thanks to the castle Litoměřice become the center of congress tourism. This allows modern equipped conference hall with preserved Gothic artifacts. Hrad vznikl pravděpodobně v době vlády Přemysla Otakara II. ve druhé polovině 13. století. Typově patřil ke středoevropským kastelům. V době vlády císaře Karla IV. prodělal první velkou přestavbu a rozšíření. Významně poničen byl během husitských válek. Poškozený hrad daroval král Vladislav Jagellonský městu, které ho využívalo k hospodářským účelům. V roce 1655 byl opět poničen požárem, a v 18. století v roce 1767 byl z větší části přebudován na Litoměřický pivovar. Od 80. let 20. století jsou zbytky někdejšího hradu (část věže a jeden hradní palác) postupně rekonstruovány pro kulturní a společenské účely.
