Château du Gué-Péan is a French castle in Monthou-sur-Cher in the department of Loir-et-Cher, in region Centre-Val de Loire.The presence of a Roman road near the castle, which crossed the stream by a ford, gave the first name to the locality: the paid ford, which later becomes the Gué-Péan. This is the fifteenth century that the Alaman family bought the manor and built the castle. The manor was built in châtellenie by François Alaman, vassal of the lord of Saint Aignan. His son toddler who finished building the castle. In October 1676, Charlotte Alaman sells the Gué-Péan and outbuildings to François de la Motte Villebret Count Aspremont. Le château du Gué-Péan est un château français situé à Monthou-sur-Cher dans le département de Loir-et-Cher, en région Centre-Val de Loire. Histoire La présence d'une voie romaine non loin du château, qui coupait le ruisseau par un gué, donna le premier nom à ce lieu-dit : le gué payant, qui devient par la suite, le Gué-Péan. C'est au xve siècle que la famille Alaman achète la seigneurie et fait construire le château. La seigneurie est érigée en châtellenie par François Alaman, vassal du seigneur de Saint Aignan. C'est son petit-fils qui termine la construction du château. En octobre 1676, Charlotte Alaman vend le Gué-Péan et ses dépendances à François de la Motte-Villebret comte d'Aspremont. C'est ensuite la famille Amelot qui prend possession du château pendant 62 ans. Vient ensuite la famille de Cassin, propriétaire du Gué-Péan en 1832. Ils sont les premiers à y résider. L'orangerie voit le jour en 1885 et le château dispose ainsi d'un jardin d'hiver. Le 7 mars 1952, une grande partie du château est classée Monument historique. En 1961 le château est vendu à Monsieur Kéguelin de Rozières puis plus tard à Denis Laming, architecte du Futuroscope.
