The castle in was built on the initiative of Helena Korybutówny in the fourteenth century. The first test of battle passed during the Hussite wars in 1433 years defending himself effectively.
It was rebuilt several times. The first reconstruction of the second half of the sixteenth century, made by Promnitz gave him the characteristics of the Renaissance. Then it was rebuilt in the years 1743-1768, but only the reconstruction of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, gave it its present appearance. The owners were then Pszczyny Hochbergs. The grand palace of the former castle remained small fragments - basements and some Baroque and Renaissance room.
Today it houses the National Museum in Pless.
