Castle Helfenburk, also called Hrádek, was built by Ronovci in the first half of the 14th century, but already in 1375 it became the property of the Prague Archbishopric.

The castle probably built Berka of Dubé, from Ronovci after 1350. In 1375 it was bought by Prague Archbishop Jan Ocko of Vlasim from Hanus of Helfenbeku, probably one of the descendants of the family Klinštejnů. Archbishop so created rural hinterland in the woods nearby to stay outside the WAC, which performed in his office. He stayed there briefly and its successor, the third Prague archbishop Jan of Jenštejna. At the time of their stay was a tiny castle substantially modified. The original wooden building a radically changed, especially increased stone reconstructions. The settlement around the castle originated from several buildings, the castle was built chapel, built 63 meters deep well and a new castle was surrounded by moats and walls and have been here for some time brought from Prague St. Vitus jewelry, relics and books. The record came in 1395 Roudnice Prior Petra clarifier, personal chronicler John of arcibiskupina Jenštejna of John's accident on the bridge leading from the new tower, where he nearly collapsed. Jan lived here until about 1400, ie at a time when he was deprived of his office. Finally, it is placed on the Castle Wilhelm von Illburka, which at that time belonged to the nearby Ronov. The Helfenburk newly outfitted and then place a landlocked Ron enjoyed. After the extinction of the family in 1538 the castle gradually abandoned. In 1622, then burned down due to the imperial army marshal Buquoy. It was a period pillaging passing armies in the Thirty Years' War. After the Battle of White Mountain, the Jesuits gained from Liběšice and attached to the Usti estate.
When in 1887 the ruins of the castle was bought and modified industrialist, Count Joseph von Schroll and began to be attractive to tourists. He's here in 1887-1890 built a romantic three-story tower of 30 meters, where it leads 143 steps.

Úštěk Castle

The original fortress dates back to the 13. century. It belonged to the Lords Škopek from Liběšice. It was destroyed in 1620 and it gave place to a chateau, which was built according to the plans by K.I. Dietzenhofer in 1738 – 1752. It has three wings and it is closed by a storey wing with a tower and clocks. There is a gate with angels under the tower. You can also see the statues of saints and vases on the terrace.

Liběšice Chateau

Zakšín castle, sometimes called “Pustý zámek” is one of the most remarkable examples of fortified settlements situated on sandstone.
The castle was built on the site of an old fort in 1400 during the rule of Václav Berka. Around 1450 it had already been abandoned. It used to stand on 3 sandstone blocks, the gaps between them serving as moats. The most interesting is the second one, carved sideways, with a protrusion allowing one to go up to the drawbridge. Some rooms are carved into the rock.

Zakšín Castle

The history of the chateau in Zahrádky begins around 1556 when Kryštof Plot from Koňařiny is mentioned as the district commissioner at Nový Vítkovec (the previous name of the castle). It was built by Jan of Vartenberk, who had the interiors renovated as well. Since then, there were various possessors within the family of Vartenberk, of which Jan Jiří of Vartenberk was the last. As he had been an active participant in the rebellion against the Hapsburg power (1619-1620), his possessions were confiscated.
The castle was bought in 1623 by Albrecht of Valdštejn. At that time, the furnishings were really valuable, there was an excellent library and a gallery, and an outstanding park with abundant valuable tree species. When Albrecht of Valdštejn was murdered (1634), the chateau was in the possession of his wife Isabella and later his only daughter Marie Alžběta, who married Rudolf Kounic, the chief gamekeeper. The Kounic family kept the property of Nový Zámek until 1897, when the family line died out. The chateau then went into the hands of Jan Lichtenstein and Emmanuel Liechtenstein.
After 1945, the chateau was kept by the government authorities. In the 19th century, the rock canyon of the Robečský Brook (so-called Peklo) became a part of the chateau premises; at present, it is a natural monument with abundant presence of St. Agnes's flowers. The Valdštejn linden alley was added as well (trees aged 300 years): the alley leads through one of the oldest pheasantries in Bohemia, now breeding Angora goats and mouflons.
Unfortunately, the chateau was burnt during a three-day-long fire at the turn of January/February 2003 and was seriously damaged.

Zahrádky Castle

Bernštejn chateau was built in the Renaissance style in 1553-1567 by Adam Berka of Dubé. The residence of the Berk family was moved to the chateau from the Starý Bernštejn castle. In the first half of the 18th century the chateau underwent Baroque modifications. The attic dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. Pseudohistoric modifications were done in 1934.

Nový Berštejn Chateau

The first written record of Ploskovice comes from the 13th century. It appears in a supplement to an old Latin text of a foundation charter of Litoměřice chapter from the years 1057 – 1058. Ploskovice was in possession of a nobleman named Hroznat in the 12th century who gave it as a present to the Order of Johannites in Prague in 1188. Johannites had a fortified seat – a preceptory built in here. The preceptory may have stood at the place of a later Gothic fortress and an old chateau. Johannites held Ploskovice in their possession until 1545 when they sold it. It was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau during the years 1545– 1575. There were many owners of Ploskovice, however it is worth mentioning one of them – Anna Marie Františka, later of Toscany. She decided to build a new, luxury chateau here which could compete with at that time aristocratic buildings in abroad. She had it built in half an Italian and half Chinese style and richly furnished. Water dams and fountains, decorative gardens, open galleries, statues and grottos were developed according to Lenotrov´s example creating a copy of small Versailles. The costs allegedly exceeded a million of golden coins. There are no accounts of bills, though. The first archived documents come from 1725. They relate to finishing works. According to style analyses, the building comes from the period of 1720 – 1730 and the architecture is ascribed to Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer. A hundred years later, the last Czech crowned king Ferdinand V. chose Ploskovice chateau as its summer residence. The castle was in a rather desolate state back then, it was necessary to have it enlarged and renovated. Hence, one more floor and a pavilion were added to it. An open arcade was restored. The chateau today is a national cultural monument and has been under gradual reconstruction. It is open to public for guided tours. Not only the beautiful chateau but also its park in the area of 8 ha is worth visiting. The most precious woody plant growing here is a real showpiece of Aesculus Hippocastanum Laciniata.

Ploskovice Chateau

The castle was founded at the beginning of the 15th century by Jindřich Berka of Dubá. It was also called Berkenstein.
In the mid 15th century the castle was in the hands of the Vartemberks; in the 16th century it went back to the hands of the Berka family. They left it in the middle of the century and moved to Nový Berštejn near Dubé. At present, you can see the tower and a not very large front part with relics of bastions.

Starý Berštejn Castle

The original water castle named Lipý comes from the 13th century.
The best-known owner of the castle was Jindřich of Lipá. Until the mid 17th century, the castle was the residence of the Berka family of Dubá, who had it rebuilt in the 17th century into a Renaissance chateau with a two-storey palace. In the course of time, the chateau was abandoned and it was pulled down in 1957. The relics of the original structures comprise a ruin with preserved cellars, parts of the bullwark, and a fragment of the second gate.

Lipý Castle

The exact date of the Chateau construction is uncertain, but we have some dates on the Chateau' buildings (1696 and 1635). The second one is connected with change of the Vidim demesne owner, when it was given into hands of General Johann Böck, betrayer of Albrecht of Wallenstein... But nowadays we skeptically assume, that the pictoresque Baroque complex was built in the first half of the 18th century together with adjoining English park. The demesne changed owners several times and finally it was in a possesion of German-Bohemian textile enterpreneur Theodor Grahmann. He extended the Chateau (western wing) in neo-Baroque style in 1898 and also erected in the Chateau' grounds vast homestead with sawmill. He also reconstructed Chateau' park and completed it by distinctive Gloriet, many bridges and cast statues of Classical heroes and gods. Later, after WWII, it was nationalized and nowadays, after partial reconstruction, it serves as retirement home (Domov senioru Vidim).
From Chateau' original Baroque exterior is the southern facade, opened into the garden, the best preserved. Facade has protruded avant-corps (risalite), balcony in the second storey and it is finished in the centre by volute gable decorated by putti and vase.

Vidim Chateau

The Renaissance chateau was built after 1574 by Henry of Vartemberk. Later modifications were not of a significant nature. The chateau served as a residence of the Grand Priories of the Order of Malta. It was adapted in 1930-31 for the owner, Josef Vraný, which unfortunately was not done in a very sensitive way.
In 2010 the chateau was bought by the current owner, Mr. Ondřej Kilián, who made it accessible to the public. Tours of the chateau are given as part of the few cultural events that take place here during the year.
