One of the most significant buildings of the Mikes family, the manor from Zágon already existed in the 17th century, as indicated by an inscription in one of the beams, which includes the year number 1632, and the initials B:M and E:D. Mikes Kelemen was born here; this is supposedly proved by an inscription which was added during reconstructions at the beginning of the 20th century. The building was in his possession, and became the property of the Szentkereszty family after it was confiscated from him. On this occasion, a list of possession was made on the 26th of December, 1716: this is how we know about the building’s condition in the 18th century. A stone house with a thatched roof stood on the estate surrounded by a wooden fence. The entrance of the house led straight to the largest chamber, “the palace”. Doors opened to other rooms in all three directions, several of them were vaulted. The manor was presumably double-tracted. It was in a bad, neglected condition, moreover the ceiling of the palace had to be bolstered and supported. 19th century archive photographs show that the manor had two onion domes as well. In present days such domes can only be seen in Imecsfalva. The castle gained its current shape in 1903, during reconstructions commissioned by Baron Szentkereszty Zsigmond. The building’s tall, double roofing kept its 18th century character, but its small pillared porch was replaced with a larger one at the centre of the main facade. The windows gained simple, arched plaster frames. The interior composition changed as well. A wide hall was introduced along the manor’s central axis: the neighbouring rooms shrank as a result. It can be seen in a 19th century photograph that there were once curious plants in front of the building, including a cactus. The castle currently houses the Zágon/Zagon Museum, which exhibits the memorial statues of Mikes Kelemen, Csutak Vilmos and Kiss Manyi. Una dintre importantele clădiri ale familiei Mikes, conacul din Zagon, datează din sec. XVII, fapt atestat și grinda pe care se află inscripționată anul 1632 și monogramele proprietarilor B:M și E: D. Clădirea este considerată casa natală a lui Mikes Kelemen, fapt de asemenea atestat de o inscripție descoperită în timpul lucrărilor de modificare de la începutul sec. XX. După confiscarea proprietății aflate în posesia familiei Mikes, domeniul ajunge în posesia familiei Szentkereszty. Cu această ocazie, la data de 26 decembrie 1716 se realizează un inventar, pe baza căruia aflăm starea clădirii în sec. XVIII. Proprietatea, înconjurată de un gard din scânduri, suprindea o casă de piatră cu acoperiş de paie, a cărei intrare se deschidea spre cea mai mare încăpere, în palat. De aici, în toate cele trei părți, se deschideau camere,dintre care unele erau boltite. Planimetria clădirii prezenta o structură în două tracturi. Conacul se afla într-o stare degradată, tavanul acestuia necesitând susținere. Pe fotografiile de arhivă din sec.XIX se observă că conacul avea două cupole de tip ”bulb”. În ziua de azi, astfel de cupolă poate fi văzută doar în localitatea Imeni. Clădirea și-a căpătat înfățișarea de astăzi în 1903, dupa transformările efectuate de Szentkereszty Zsigmond. Acoperișul său înalt, dublu a păstrat caracteristicile secolului XVIII., dar intrarea mică de la frontispiciul clădirii a fost inlocuită cu un portic cu coloane. Chenarele ferestrelor, arcuite au fost realizate din tencuială. Amenajarea interioară a fost deasemenea schimbată. În axul central al clădirii s-a construit un hol, astfel camerele au fost reduse în dimensiune. Într-o fotografaie din sec.XIX se vede că în fața clădirii erau plante speciale, printre ele chiar și un cactus. În prezent, în conac funcționează muzeul din Zagon, cu camerele memoriale ale lui Mikes Kelemen, Csutak Vilmos și a actriței, Kiss Manyi. Az épület valóban az ő tulajdonában állt, birtokainak elkobzása után a Szentkereszty családhoz került. A kastély a mai formáját 1903-ban nyerte el, báró Szentkereszty Zsigmond átalakításai során. A Mikes család egyik jelentős épülete, a zágoni kúria már a 17. században állt, ezt bizonyítja egy 1632-es évszámmal és B:M és E:D monogramokkal ellátott gerenda. Itt született Mikes Kelemen, ezt állítólag egy felirat is bizonyítja, amely a 20. század eleji átalakítások során került elő. Az épület valóban az ő tulajdonában állt, birtokainak elkobzása után a Szentkereszty családhoz került. Ebből az alkalomból, 1716. december 26-án írták össze a birtok javait, innen ismerjük az épület 18. századi állapotát. A deszkakerítéssel övezett telken zsúppal fedett kőház állt, amelynek bejárata a legnagyobb terembe, a palotába vezetett. Ebből mindhárom irányba helyiségek nyíltak, több közülük boltozott volt, az udvarház feltehetően kéttraktusos volt. Elhanyagolt, rossz állapotban volt, a palota mennyezetét alá is kellett támasztani. A 19. század végéről ismert archív fotókon látható, hogy a kúriának két hagymakupolája is volt. Ilyet ma már csak Imecsfalván láthatunk. A kastély a mai formáját 1903-ban nyerte el, báró Szentkereszty Zsigmond átalakításai során. Az épület magas, dupla teteje megőrizte a 18. századi jelleget, ám a kisebb ámbitus helyére egy nagyobb, oszlopos tornác került a főhomlokzat közepére. Az ablakkeretek íves, egyszerű vakolatkeretet kaptak. A belső elrendezés is megváltozott. Az épület középtengelyébe széles hall került, így a szobák mérete csökkent. Egy 19. századi fotón látszik, hogy az épület előtt különleges növények voltak, köztük egy kaktusz. Jelenleg a zágoni múzeum működik a kastélyban, Mikes Kelemen, Csutak Vilmos és Kiss Manyi színésznő emlékszobáival. Az egykori magtárat vendégházzá alakították át. https://kastelyerdelyben.ro/
