The Castle of Medinaceli is a medieval fortress in Medinaceli (Province of Soria, Castile and León, Spain). It was built in the 9th century and rebuilt in the 15th century. Almanzor died here in 1002.

El castillo de Guijosa o castillo de don Íñigo López de Orozco es una fortificación, emplazada en la localidad española de Guijosa, perteneciente al municipio de Sigüenza (provincia de Guadalajara, comunidad autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha).
Está compuesto de una gran torre central con ventanas, balcones y matacanes; rodeada de un recinto cuadrado rematado de almenas. La puerta de este último está formada de un arco apuntado.​ Un detalle heráldico junto a la puerta parece hacer indicar que fue construido por Íñigo López de Orozco hacia mediados del siglo xv.

Castillo de Guijosa

This castle has a rectangular floor plan although it is quite irregular due to the fact that it adapts to the rugged land of a high and narrow hill that divides the town into two parts. A robust keep is attached to the castle walls which are made of thick stonework, horizontal brick rows and ashlar with stonecutter’s marks on the corners. There is only one entrance which is located high up and two loophole windows.
Inside there are remains of the structures that divided the tower, which once was taller, into different floors, and all throughout the perimeter, you can see where the foundation walls began and some towers that reinforced the structure.
This fortress is so unique due to the double-lined brick walls, a technique that mainly had a structural purpose, but has also given the castle beautiful reddish lines between the stonework. This construction method has a clear Mudejar origin which was most likely influenced by the amount of Muslims in the village and in the area of Aragon.
In the 14th-century Chronicle of Pedro I, the castle of Arcos de Jalón was mentioned as belonging to many noble families, one of them being the Counts of Medinaceli thanks to the union of the Luna and Cerda houses, two of the most important houses in early Middle Ages in Castile.

Castillo de Arcos de Jalón

Montuenga Castle in Soria, Spain forms part of the defensive line of the Jalón River set in a natural passage between the plateau and strategic basin of the Ebro.
The castle is perched on a high hill, steep and long, from which it dominates the town of Montuenga de Soria. The remains of the building, two polygonal towers at each end, are joined by walls.
Montuenga de Soria is located in the province of Soria, 105 kilometers from Madrid. The village is part of the municipality of Arcos de Jalon with the town about 5km away. The castle overlooks and so controlled access between Castile and Aragon. The area was subject to disputes, notable during the Castilian Civil War.

The Castle of the Bishops of Sigüenza (Castillo de los Obispos de Sigüenza) is located in Sigüenza in the Province of Guadalajara in central Spain. With foundations dating back to the 5th century, it was extended by the Moors and retaken for the Christians by Bernard of Agen in 1123.
History
The origins of the fortifications in Sigüenza go back to the Celtiberians who inhabited the right bank of the river in the final centuries B.C. The Visigoths built a small castle in the 5th century above the town. The Moors built a large fortified castle or alcazaba in the early 8th century to defend the area against the Christian kings of Leon and Castile. It was enclosed by a defensive wall providing an area known as the medina. In 1124, the castle was retaken by Bernard of Agen allowing Simón Girón de Cisneros to build an episcopal palace there. In 1298, the castle was taken by the troops of Alfonso de la Cerda during the battle against Ferdinand IV of Castile, the boy king, but was defended by the bishop's vassals.[2] In the 15th century, the castle was strengthened by the bishops to protect it from attacks from Aragon and Navarre.
In the late 18th century, Bishop Juan Díaz de la Guerra changed the appearance of the castle from a fortress into an episcopal palace with additional windows, balconies and stables. However, in 1808 during the War of Spanish Independence the castle was taken by the French who seriously damaged it and looted all its riches before it was recaptured by El Empecinado. The episcopal palace was further devastated by fire in the 1830s and had to be abandoned.
Parador
In 1972, the Ministry of Tourism gave the castle the status of a parador or luxury hotel. Restoration of the building began in 1964 and was completed in 1976 by the architect José Luis Picardo. The official inauguration took place in 1978 with the visit of King King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía. Decorated with banners and suits of armour, the huge lounge is the castle's original dining room.

The Castle of Riba de Santiuste (Spanish: Castillo de Riba de Santiuste) is a castle located in Sigüenza, Spain. It was declared Bien de Interés Cultural in 1992. The castle was rebuilt twice: in 15th century for the first time and in 19th century after it had been partially destroyed.

HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION
It’s position dominates not only the valley of Pelegrina, but also the whole meseta that extends even further, where in the Middle Ages there was the important Roman Road ofEmérita Augusta - now the A2 - which even then was a main road. From its heights one could see, or even communicate with, the nearby fortress of La Torresviñán.
The towers at the corners of the wall are solid, and as such don’t have arrow slits, and their only function was to reinforce the walls. The defense, therefore, must have been carried out from the tops of the walls. Its characteristics lead us to date the fortress to the 12th century.
The castle was property of the bishops of Sigüenza, from which king Pedro I snatched it up without a fight in order to maintain his war with Aragón, and later it was sacked by the Navarrese in the 15th century, and reclaimed in turn by the diocesan militia. Above all, it served as a residence and hunting preserve for the archbishops of Sigüenza.
During the War of Succession, in the 18th century, the aristocrats set fire to it. In the War of Independence it was dismantled by Napoleon’s troops so that it wouldn’t serve as a refuge for the guerrillas fighters of Juan Martín the Undaunted.
