Veltrusy Mansion is a baroque château in Veltrusy, Bohemia, located in the Mělník District of the Czech Republic. The mansion is situated near the banks of the Vltava River, about 25 km north of Prague. The mansion is open to the public for visits.
The mansion was initially built in 1716 by architect František Maxmilián Kaňka for Count Václav Antonín Chotek of Chotkov and Vojnín. The original mansion was extended in 1764 by architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi on the orders of Count Rudolf Chotek of Chotkov and Vojnín, who also commissioned the interior decoration. Further extensions and the annexes of the mansion were constructed in 1804.

A breakthrough in the history of the village took place in 1544, it was the year when the fortress was bought by Florian Grispek from Griesbach who was about to have a very promising carreer at the emperor´s court. The Emperor Ferdinand I. gave him plenty of money and Florian decided to invest it in building his estate. He chose the village of Nelahozeves which was, thanks to its location, an ideal strategic location.
The chateau began being built in 1553 on the top of the hill above the river. The style was inspired by the Italian chateaux and it was actually the Italian architects such as Giovani de Statio, Pietro Ferrabosco or Giovanni Spazio who participated in its construction.The original plans for the chateau were grand - to say the least - but as the construction turned out to be far more expensive than expected many concessions were made. Eventually three wings were built by 1558 and though the last wing was also planned as its construction was never realized. In its place a provisional wall was built and it has been there ever since.
In 1623 the chateau was bought by Polyxena from Pernštejn, the wife of Zdenek Vojtech from Lobkowicz. It was Polyxena who innitiated  the foundation of the world-known art collection. The Lobkowicz Family had their main seat in the nearby chateau in Roudnice and the one in Nelahozeves was not used very often hence the chateau decayed a great deal. It was completely reconstructed after 1948 when it wasconfiscated by the Communists. It was not until 1992 that the chateau was returned tohands of the Lobkowicz family who opened it to the public who can come and see a magnificent art collection comprising more than 400 items.

Nelahozeves Chateau

14th century castle, which was reconstructed from a former fortress. In 1467, it was conquered by the imperial troops. In the 16th century, a Renaissnace chateau was built. It lay to waste during the reign of the Lobkovics. However, later on Kryštof Karel Voračický of Paběnic restored it. Construction was not completed. Today, the chateau is gradually being restored.

Chvatěruby Castle

The Benedictine convent of St George at Prague Castle was already long established when, in 1228, King Otakar I of Bohemia gifted the nearby village of Břežany to the nuns. The village, whose name comes from a word meaning ‘river-bank’, soon gained the addition ‘Panenské’ (of the Virgin), and became the seat of the convent’s powerful abbesses for the next five hundred years. A residence was built, along with a chapel dedicated to Saint Anne.
Following a devastating fire in 1691, the then abbess, Francesca Helena Pieroni de Galiano, took the opportunity to rebuild both residence and chapel. For the latter project, she commissioned Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel (a pupil of Jean Baptiste Mathey) who was already turning heads with eccentric geometrical designs strongly influenced by his hero, the Italian architect Francesco Borromini, whose work he had admired on a visit to Rome.
Like Borromini, Santini’s fascination lay in the interplay of line and space, and particularly the sense of movement that arose from the connection of concave and convex curves. Basing the chapel’s plan on numerological principles (triangles for the Trinity, pentagons for the five wounds of Christ) the 28-year-old architect produced a compact, dynamic building that his admirers see as the launchpad for his later work. The chapel was constructed by master builder Filip Spannbrucker between 1705 and 1707.
The neighbouring house was rebuilt in a style sympathetic to Santini’s for use as a summer house for the convent. Having passed through several hands after the dissolution of the convent in 1782, in 1941 it became the home of K.H. Frank, the notorious SS officer among whose many crimes was the organization of the destruction of Lidice. Having served as a retirement home since the war, the chateau is currently being remodelled as a museum of anti-fascist resistance.

Panenské Břežany Chateau

There is a small Baroque chateau with chapel of Holy Trinity in Koleč, built in the 1710s on the site of an older fort. The chapel, serving as a church for the growing village, was enlarged in 1898-1899. The privately owned chateau has been neglected and heavily dilapidated since the 1990s. Now it belongs among the most endangered listed buildings in the region.

A hunting lodge built in 1696 by James Herman Cernín of Chudenice was in the years 1713 to 1720 according to project FM Kanka converted to Baroque residence and later further modified by architects John and Christian Spannbruckerem Anselmo Lurago.
Horín Chateau is a very valuable object represents a single architectural work of art, even though today is in poor condition and not accessible to the public. The original equipment of chateau, unfortunately, not preserved. Free access is the only park where grow many valuable trees.

Hořín Chateau

Levý Hradec is an early medieval Bohemian gord situated 10 km northwest of Prague near Roztoky, in the Czech Republic. This fortified settlement served as the original seat of Bořivoj I, the first known Přemyslid ruler. It was built on a promontory on the left bank of the Vltava River approximately in mid-9th century.
The first Christian church was built here shortly after Bořivoj I converted to Christianity. This church was consecrated to St. Clement.
The first historical evidence concerning Levý Hradec comes from Kristián who wrote about the St. Clement church and its first priest Kaich. Kristián also mentions Saint Adalbert of Slavník's dynasty to be elected here into his bishopic office on 19 February 982.
Přemyslid dynasty left Levý Hradec at the beginning of the 10th century but it seems that settlement persevered as dense as in the 9th century. New building were constructed and fortifications regularly repaired.
The site was abandoned at the end of the 11th century as there is no further evidence of fortifications being repaired. Nevertheless, the reason why it happened so is still unknown.
The site was excavated as soon as the 19th century by archaeologists Čeněk Rýzner and Josef Ladislav Píč. The main excavations took place in the 1930s and 1950s when Ivan Borkovský excavated the foundations of the original St. Clement church.

Levý Hradec Castle

Melnik Chateau is described in Czech legends. It is said that Princess Ludmila often resided there and even raised her grandson Wenceslas in Melnik. Wenceslas would later become the duke of Bohemia and then the patron saint of the Czech state. The chateau was originally a wooden castle that was rebuilt with stone in the late 10th century. During the 13th century it got a Gothic makeover. Wives of Bohemian princes owned the town, and later Bohemian Queens resided there. It was Queen Elizabeth, King Charles IV’s fourth and last wife, who had the chapel built in the 14th century.
When Marie Ludmila Countess Czernin married August Anton Eusebius Lobkowicz in 1753, the Lobkowicz era of the chateau’s history had begun. During World War II the Nazis took control of the chateau. Then, in 1948, it was nationalized, and the family was forced to leave the country. The chateau was given back to the clan in 1992.

Mělník Chateau

Okoř is a castle on a low rocky promontory in Okoř, north-west of Prague, about 15 kilometres (9 mi) from the city centre, in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
In 1228 a stronghold was built in the small hamlet of Okoř. It was later modified into a Gothic castle, founded in 1359 by Frantisek Rokyčansky, a wealthy burgher of Prague's Old Town. It was later modified by comprehensive Late Gothic remodelling by the Lords of Donin. In 1518, during the reign of Bořitas of Martinice, the castle was turned into a residence in the Renaissance style.
During the Thirty Years' War the castle was heavily damaged and then restored in the Baroque style. It underwent further extension in the second half of the 15th century, and in the 17th century it was owned by Jesuits. Following their departure after the Jesuit order was discontinued in Bohemia, the Okoř castle became deserted in the late 18th century and slowly began to deteriorate.

Renaissance chateau in Roztoky combining elements of various stylse together, starting from the Romanesque foundation and ending with Neo-Gothic modifications. In 1965-1974, statues from the 17th-19th century were transferred to the chateau premises and a work by Hedvik Zaorálka was placed in the chateau gardens.

Roztoky u Prahy Chateau

Lobkovice Castle is halfway between Prague and Melnik Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
Lobkovice is among the oldest of Czech villages, already being mentioned by Václav Hájek from Libočany in the times of Saint Wenceslaus (the Good King Wenceslas) and Saint Adalbert of Prague.
In the second half of the 14th Century Lobkovice belonged to Mikuláš Cotr, a citizen of Prague, and in 1377 the estate became the property of J. Cucha of Zásada.
Lobkovice was acquired by Mikuláš Chudý of Újezd, the founder of the House of Lobkowicz, in 1409, and stayed in the family until the nineteenth century, when it was bought by the Prague attorney Dr. Jan Mechura, father-in-law of the historian František Palacký, who died there in 1876. A few years later, Prince Moric of Lobkowicz reacquired the original family seat. In 1948, the estate was nationalised by the socialist government (resulting from the bill of the Revision of the First Czechoslovak Land Reform passed in July 1947).
The Lobkovice Estate was returned after the Prague Velvet Revolution to the grandson of the last owner prior 1948, Prince Ferdinand Joseph Lobkowicz.
