 Castle probably was built in the early XVII century. Because we know that in 1672 it took the Turks, and in 1675 besieged army of Jan III Sobieski. Fortification is located on a high hill, which slopes sharply decreases to a small stream. By planning the configuration of the castle belongs to the regular protobastionnyh, rectangular, with a corner tower. Held in the north wall outside the entrance gate was further protected by a moat and rampart. From the courtyard between the corner tower was located along the southern wall of the palace, which was repeatedly reconstructed. Significant changes it has undergone in the 30 years of XIX century., When the owner of the castle Cyril Charkovskyy undertaken to rebuild the castle on the family estate. Subsequently, in 1901, renovated palace was destroyed by fire. The new building in its place appeared around 1910.

The castle is situated on a high cliff on the right bank of the river Zbruch. On three sides of the river provides a natural defense and its steep rocky shores. Castle town Skala-Podolsky

The first information about the village date back to the XV century. From that time until the XVIII century. it belonged to the Roman Catholic department Kamenetz-Podolsk. Near the village held by Zbruch Walnut terrible way in which the Tartars and the Turks broke into skirts. Tatar attacks were very frequent, almost every year, and in 1516 - the worst, when the village was burned to the ground. Therefore, the higher the Castle Hill, during the Lithuanian princes Koriatovychiv were built towers and walls. In 1538 valashskyy host Peter tried to get the lock - failed and then ordered to cut all those who lived in the walls. In 1674 the Turks seized the castle, all the defenders killed, burned the village. With tears, blood and fires again and again revived village.

Castle Chornokozyntsi Village

Yahilnytskyy castle rightly considered one of the most powerful and impregnable castles of Podolia. It was built in 1630 on the orders of the Crown Hetman Stanisław Lanckoroński. In 1648 Bohdan Khmelnytsky's Cossacks made their first trip to Galicia, but they didn't conquered Yahilnytskyy castle. The  successful siege was in 1655. Then Cossacks stormed strengthening in cooperation with the Moscow troops. Perhaps then the castle could survive, but inside it revolted locals.
After signing a Buchach peace treaty Buchach, Yahilnytsya with other lands of Podolia ceded to Turkey. In the castle there was housed a garrison of Turkish sultan. In 1672 the Polish royal troops drove them out. Military history for the fortress ended with the reconquest of the Turks Kamenetz-Podolsk in 1699. So by the end of XVIII century the castle had become more manor than a citadel. But in the end it was left to the Austrian government.
In the XIX century austrian authorities ordered to fill the trenches and make out part of the fortifications and buildings were used as a tobacco and potassium carbonate factory (evidence of this - an old postcard). To the factory there was built railways. Tobacco-fermentation factory existed here in the Soviet Union.
Building remained its defensive nature, despite the restructuring. Well preserved 6-meter walls of Lanckoroński former palace (1610).
