For a long time the castle has remained an important element of a series of defensive fortifications southwestern borderlands. For typological grounds it belongs to irregular basteynyh, mysovoho type. By planning the configuration is invalid rectangle, three corners are towers basteyi. Fourth northeast corner reinforcement is securely protected rocky cliff that overhangs the river Zbruch. The most vulnerable west side of the castle from the mountain plateaus separated by wall and moat, it was protected by two towers - the south hexagonal and rectangular north, combined powerful defensive wall with loopholes. Entrance to the castle yard provided through composite bridge and gate quadrangular tower. The second gate was constructed in the eastern wall. From the yard along the north wall located accommodation. Up to now the best preserved remains of three-tier towers west side - and hexagonal gate and fragmented defensive walls made of local sandstone.

Authentic remains of fortifications on the tail represent the common pattern of late irregular mysovyh locks basteynoho type, designed for driving front and flank fire.
