Korsun Castle - fortification in Korsun (nowadays - Korsun-Shevchenko, Cherkasy region).
It was built in the 1650's by order of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky.The castle was in the form of a square with 4 towers at the corners, surrounded by a moat, rampart and oak palisade, drawbridge led to the castle, at the end of the bridge there was a gate with loopholes and facilities for the Cossacks by the illustration of 1765. Above the gate there was a summer residential accommodation. The gate was rebuilt in 1765 by the elder Yablonovska (preserved to this day). Inside the castle there was a house in which lived the governor, stable, home of the Cossacks, bakery, kitchen. A two-level tower with loopholes inhabited by Cossacks was in the middle.
