 The remains of a magnificent castle-palace Poninskyh, erected in 1840 on the site of an ancient fortress, today are the ruins of two Gothic towers located in the tract on Red Hill in the midst of a deep hollow Dzhuryn river. Once the structure was considered the most beautiful in the whole of the Polish Empire.

 

Originally Chervonogorod castle fortifications was that in the first half of the XIX century. rebuilt the palace. Considered one of the most mysterious and romantic castles Ternopil. Tourists usually associate it with the fabulous "two towers" of Tolkien's saga "The Lord of the Rings."

 

According to legend Chervonogorod castle appeared in ancient times and was destroyed by the Mongols. Lithuanian princes Koriatovychiv restore wooden lock to lose it in 1395 in favor of Poland. In 1538, the castle and the town were destroyed by the army of Peter the Wallachian ruler. At the beginning of XVII century. Nicholas D. builds a stone castle with an extensive system of underground tunnels. From 1672 to 1699 years, the castle was occupied and destroyed by the Turks. In 1778, the ruins of which consisted of two towers and wall elements, buys Prince K.Poninskyy and rebuilds the palace. By 1939, the Duchess lived in the palace of Lubomirski.

 

During the war the castle was almost completely destroyed, and in the post-war period of the palace was dismantled for building materials for the local farm.

 

Along with locking towers rise the ruins of the church of the Ascension.
