Description

Preserved western part of the manor, built in the mid-16th century. Around the manor there was originally a high stone defensive wall, which has been preserved only on discontinuous sections. There were circular bastions on the corners. In 2014, a new church was built by rebuilding one part of the manor house. Then the next stages of the reconstruction of the manor began. Reconstruction was completed in 2020. The manor has new windows and doors, made of Siberian spruce, exterior and interior plaster, floors, central heating. The rooms are vaulted with cross ridge and barrel vaults with lunettes. In each room of the manor, the walls partially reveal the original building material from the 16th century. The vaulted cellars are almost completely exposed. The manor also includes the building of an old granary behind the road, which was probably built at the same time as the manor.

History

The oldest document, in which the seat of Nededza is first mentioned, is a royal charter containing the right to property for members of the Nedecký family. At the beginning of her reign, the Hungarian queen, who ruled from 1382 to 1385, donated to Nededz Ladislav, Peter and Ján.

During Nedudalism, an extensive chateau manor house with a smaller church was built in Nedezí in the middle of the 16th century. The manor house was a multi-storey building, equipped with a tower and surrounded by a stone wall.

Count Štefan Pongrácz lived in the manor. After his death, the property was inherited by his sister Ľudmila, who took good care of the manor house together with the man. In 1907, however, the manor house was sold. The manor house was bought by several local Jews, they took away valuable monuments, the manor house was insured and it soon burned down.

During the socialist era, it was bought by a family from Nededze, which also used it for housing. In 1989, it was bought by a private entrepreneur. He rented part of the chateau cellars, and turned the first floor into a carpentry workshop. In time, he had project documentation prepared with the intention of converting the manor into family apartments. His plans were thwarted by the financial crisis, so he offered the building for sale.

In 2011 the village of Nededza bought the manor house and in 2014 a new church was built, and from 2015 they started an extensive reconstruction of the manor house. The truss was repaired, and wooden railings were completed on the second floor. The manor received new windows and doors, external and internal plaster, floors, central heating and sanitary facilities.

In 2020, the reconstruction was completed. The entire original building of the manor is now divided into a church and a manor, although they have one common wall. The church has been in full use since 2015. The manor house and its use will be the subject of negotiations between the municipal council in the future.

The model of the manor house is stored in the Historical Museum in Vienna.
