The manor is originally a Renaissance building. It is two-storey with a cellar and has a floor plan of the irregular U type and has a two-wing layout. There are two corner towers on the front wing. In the middle of the front wing, an entrance portico with a balcony was added. The manor house in Chalmová was built in the first half of the 17th century, on the site of an older medieval building, probably a fortress. For a time it was the seat of the Detrich family.
The building was baroqued in the 18th century. It was most significantly rebuilt in the 19th century, when it widened its walls and acquired classicist elements. It was renovated in the mid-1940s by its last owner, who inhabited the manor. It was August Haupt-Stummer von Tavarnok and his family.
In 1966, an educational facility was established here - a youth home. In 1972/73, the youth home was renamed the Youth Education Institute. In 1976, an apprenticeship school was established at the educational institution for young people. The facility was being built and enlarged. In 1993, a superstructure was built in the right wing of the manor house, to which the vocational school had already moved.
Since April 2004, the manor has served as a reeducation center.
