The mansion has two floors and an attic. The predominant building style is eclecticism, which is usually manifested by the use and imitation of elements from several often opposite styles. The facades of the manor house are decorated with turrets, dormers, bay walls and gables. There is a horizontal bossage. The coat of arms of Ján Pálffy is placed above the entrance portal. The roofing is diverse. The building has a high tower with a walkway and an onion roof.The entrance to the building is a monumental staircase, the individual rooms in the interior have a mostly flat ceiling. The mansion with English park is one of the national cultural monuments.

The castle is renovated and is in very good condition. The castle was opened to the public in 1997. In the castle is located a branch of the Slovak National Museum. There are still expositions of historical furniture and period living nobility, historical weapons. The castle gallery and underground cellars are also open to the public.It is worth noting the sophisticated sala terrena / room on the ground floor of the palace open to the garden / from 1656 by master Tencall with various figures filled with figural scenes of apotheoses and mythological scenes. Also a wide range of chandeliers, mirrors, precious art-historical objects, furniture and a picture gallery are examples of historical living accessories.As for the exterior, the castle is a massive two-storey building with four corner round bastions connected by a defensive wall. In the basement there are castle cellars with a sophisticated ventilation system. The castle buildings are centered around a large courtyard, the center of attention being a stone fountain with a sculpture of a prancing deer - a symbol of the Palffy family. The unequal tall buildings with bastions are the result of adjustments to the entrance areas, residential palaces and economic parts, which they gradually moved to the area of the bailey.

Červený Kameň

The oldest core of today's castle dates back to the beginning of the 14th century and consisted of a type of water castle. The castle was surrounded by a double wall. The outer wall had a gate over which was a tower. The inner part of the circular ground plan was filled with a tower and residential buildings. It was closed by a defensive wall and its gate was entered across the bridge over the moat. Later reconstructions completely destroyed this appearance of the castle.Baroque reconstruction changed the castle into a circular closed mansion, which lost its original fortress character. Reconstruction of the former medieval water castle began after its purchase by the Šimák family and in 2019 was completed and the castle was opened to the public.

Pezinok chateau

The castle core was oval with dimensions of about 45x17m and at both ends stood prismatic towers. The west tower had dimensions of 4.3x4.1 m on the ground floor with walls about 2 m thick and compared to the east tower is partially turned. Both towers were probably inhabited. Although the perimeter wall no longer exists, the foundation walls probably contain a transverse terrain step on a platform between the towers, which may indicate further unspecified buildings. However, nothing indicates the occurrence of a possible multi-space palace.Approximately 8m below the core platform, it is surrounded by an artificially modified terrace - about a trace of a ring closer to the invisible fortification, and another 8m lower is the second fortification ring, which extends significantly to a smaller fort in the east, protected by a moat. In front of it is another part surrounded by a rampart and a moat. In the past, wooden bridges led through the ditches. Only minimal above-ground remains have been preserved, mostly the lower parts of the towers discovered by detectors.

Kuchyňa castle

The monastery was originally a Gothic church. Currently, the best preserved is the Gothic part and defensive walls. The church was built on the southern foot of the hill Pohanská in the area of the Celtic oppida sometime during the 14th century. It was a small object with a polygonal presbytery of the same width as the ship and the northern, probably square sacristy. Its statics were provided by supporting pillars in the corners.The building is probably the last monument to the unknown extinct village that was located in this place. The orientation of the church is exactly in the east-west direction. The width of the perimeter masonry is 100 cm, with an amplification of 120 cm on the north side, probably due to the entrance to the sacristy, which is located here.

Plavecké Podhradie

The massive building of the main building consists of two wings: the left wing faces from the tower to the southeast and the right wing faces northeast. The entire building with the tower is made of reinforced concrete. Portland cement was allegedly used for the first time in the construction of the castle. The architectural design of the castle is based on a romantic concept based on medieval models of European architectures. The complex of buildings is dominated by a massive central tower, with an observation deck in its roof. The mass of the castle palace is accentuated by gables, steep roofs and towers. The fortified front yard with chapel and bastions forms the framework of the romantic shaping of green. An integral part of Smolenice Castle is a large English park.The completed and modernized chateau was handed over to Slovak Academy of Sciences on the day of its birth, on June 26, 1953. Since then, the Smolenice chateau has become the home of the SAS researchers.

Smolenice chateau

The original Gothic castle consisted of a prismatic tower and a palace. In the middle of the 16th century the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance fortress with courtyards, later supplemented with cannon bastions.At present, the exterior masonry of the extensive fortifications, a significant cannon bastion and the masonry of the palace and the central tower have been preserved. A stone Renaissance gate has been preserved in the eastern bastion.

Plavecký castle

The castle ruin is compositionally tightly connected with the limestone bedrock, stone masonry and remains of the former walls of palaces, farm buildings and bastions grow from the rugged bedrock. The Renaissance twin bracket, key loophole and side lining are some of the few preserved architectural elements.The remains of the walls and the side prism tower have been preserved from the fortress, which formed the original castle. Later, the castle was extended with a barracks with farm buildings and a tank. At the turn of the 15th-16th century, they built a massive fortress and, at the time of the Turkish invasions, another bailey with a circular bastion.

Ostrý Kameň

The walls are now in ruins and the stones were also undoubtedly used as construction material in a wide area. The relief of intricately arranged ramparts and ditches, remains and fragments of the masonry of the five-sided castle core and the ring of the outer walled corral were well preserved. The upper castle was characterized by a consistent peripheral development, after which only significant ridges remained. The inner castle, protected by fortifications of irregular oval shape, had only one gate on the northeast side, above which was a bastion, popularly called "erkel". The access road led along the bridge over the moat.In addition to the tower with a gate, there were two other towers in the outdoor area. Around the outer wall, on its inside were farm buildings, of which only the baker is mentioned. The upper castle and the entire lower part had a number of chambers, which indicate that the castle had to wave considerable supplies. Of these buildings, only the remains in the form of a cellar or parts of the perimeter walls are now preserved above the terrain. The castle has been preserved in a state of advanced disintegration, which does not allow to get more detailed information about its original form and development.

Biely Kameň

The manor is a multi-storey block building with distinctive corner prismatic towers with a mansard roof. We can see Renaissance sgraffito on the corners. The windows have Renaissance stone shutters. There is an arched passage on the axis of the manor house, from which a baroque staircase leads to the first floor.The building has been renovated and is used for various corporate events.

Trstín manor

The torso of a 1.9m thick wall wall in the southwest has been preserved from the castle. Also interesting is the arched relief arc with a span of almost 5m. The wall was from stone and its direct course suggests regular formation of the castle. The second wall was made of brick and stone and probably belonged to the later construction of the castle in the western disposition. The whole object was originally protected by a moat, partially preserved on the south side.The modern tower is a water tower, which is not part of the original castle. Water tower was built in 1905. It is built on the remains of a Baroque brick cistern which was built on the remains of the castle. The bricks used to build the tower are not medieval. The location of the castle was the only elevated place near the mansion where they needed to get water by gravity. The tower is styled like a castle tower, so it fits nicely into this place where the church and mansion are nearby.
