How to get there
The village of Bohunice is placed to the SE of Pukanec in the Levice District. We will take the main road through the village in the direction of the water mill. In the last third of the village we find a narrow alley on the left, right next to the building materials warehouse, which will lead us to the manor house. We recommend parking right at the warehouse gate, or continue by car along the narrow road and there is a smaller parking lot in front of the manor house, but further there is already a private land.
Description

The manor is a two-storey rectangular block building, originally with two corner towers. One tower was later dismantled, but rebuilt during reconstruction. In the façade on the central axis there is a portico with a pair of round columns. On the floor above the portico is an attic with key shooting ranges. The courtyard façade has a medium, slightly protruding risalit. The towers had corner pilasters on the ground floor and on the first floor they had a corner bossage and an arch frieze under the attic. The rooms have flat ceilings. The manor house was neo-Gothic rebuilt in the middle of the 19th century.

History

In the village of Bohunice, there are two mansions right next to each other. Younger Classicist and older Renaissance (later neo-Gothic rebuilt). Both are owned by one owner and are renovated.

The older, originally Renaissance manor house, was built on the foundations of a medieval building (mansion), probably as early as the beginning of the 17th century. The builder was probably Peter Bartakovič, but more precise dates of construction and documents about its original owner are not known. His son, a Hontian servant and sub-mayor (1660 - 1669), used the predicate de Bagonya (from Bohunice). It follows that he stayed here permanently and had his headquarters here, which he rebuilt and expanded.

The manor has two corner towers with preserved key shooting ranges above the portico, while one of the towers was dismantled or collapsed before 1957. Later, after reconstruction, the tower was rebuilt again.

The Renaissance manor house stood in the village until the middle of the 19th century, when one of Ignác Nyári's grandchildren had it rebuilt in the Romantic-Neo-Gothic style. In 1893, the Nyaris sold the property in Bohunice to Karol Meszáros, a lawyer from Budapest. Since then, manors and estates in Bohunice have often changed owners. In 1910, the manor house was owned by the Rothkugel and Alica Motešická, who had a romantic lake built with a statue of the goddess Aphrodite in the middle.

Adolf Kohner was the owner since 1916. In 1935, Helena Kohner sold the property to the Czechoslovak state. After the sale, the property was assigned to the State Forest Administration in Žarnovica and was used as an archive of the forest register. The interior and windows have been partially modified without regard to the nature of the building. The use of unsuitable material, together with a careless approach to maintenance, has affected the dilapidation of the building.

It was bought in a desolate condition by businessman Viktor Karel, who completely renovated the manor house in 2015.
