All facades are divided by semicircular windows, two of them are in the middle of small balconies with a lattice. The current southern part of the mansion, where the castle was originally located - was a two-story building with an inner courtyard, with five rooms on each floor and a wooden staircase. In the perimeter walls of the ground floor, loopholes were placed in the places where there are windows in this part today. The entrance to the building was from the south, the Renaissance portal has been preserved to this day.The mansion is the only one in Slovakia, which after 1945 has been preserved with its original equipment and collections. History

In the years 1440-1445, the political and military situation in Northern Hungary was unfavorable. Raids by troops led by Ján Jiskra of Brandýs also endangered the Bebek family's property in Gemer. These events were probably the impetus for the Bebek family to have a small fortification built on their estate in the years 1441-1451 - the core of today's Betliar manor house. The preserved part of the old core clearly proves that it had all the features of a castle built during the war.

During the Turkish invasions around the years 1532-1540, the Bebek estates were again endangered militarily, so they connected the two buildings with walls and later Juraj Bebek turned the buildings into a block building. After the departure of the Bebek family, Betliar was managed by the castle captains and belonged to the castle estate in Krásná Hôrka. The last castle captain Peter Andrássy in 1585 won the castle in advance for 10 years and his grandson Matthew II. in 1642 he acquired Krásná Hôrka and Betliar into hereditary ownership.

The initial stages of the building history of the manor house itself are unclear and therefore there is more room for conjecture. The oldest written reports mention Štefan Andrássy, who rebuilt the residential building in the beginning of 18th century. Judging from the later Baroque-Classicist design from the end of the 18th century, it was a modest, undemanding building, which was costly modified and expanded in 1792-1795. At that time, they also built a park. At the end of the 18th century. under Leopold Andrássy, they built a corridor in the form of a drip cave, which led from the park to the entrance representation spaces. The manor house was owned by the Andrássy family almost continuously until 1945, only a few years of the 19th century it was in the hands of the Nádasdy family (bought from Imrich Andrássy), who in turn sold it to the Pálffy family and the Grovestins family. The old family property with the seat was regained for the Andrássy family by Count Emanuel I., who became an important figure in the cultural and social life of Hungary. The last major reconstruction of the manor house in the years 1881 - 1886, which gave it its present appearance, is connected with his name.

The manor house was rebuilt into a magnificent hunting lodge. The reconstruction focused mainly on the creation of comfortable guest rooms and the reconstruction of social spaces. At that time, they also built a large entrance hall with a wooden coffered ceiling, preserved to this day in its original spirit.
