The ruins of the castle of knights Tropsztyn of the fourteenth century
The ruins of the castle of knights Tropsztyn of the fourteenth century. It was built on a hill on the left bank of the Dunajec in the fourteenth century by Gierałtów-Ośmiorogów. The first mention of it comes from 1390 years when it was owned by the Knights of the family coat of arms Chebdów Starykoń. In their hands it remained until 1535 years when it was sold to Peter Kmicie was then uninhabited. In 1581 it belonged to sips and in the eighteenth century to the Zborowski. Preserved fragments of the outer walls and the ruins of a four-sided tower. In 1997 the tower was rebuilt in the course of archaeological research.
In the last years of the twentieth century, the castle fell into private hands and is currently working on rebuilding it come to an end. Castle walls are already open to the public, but to finish the interior have to wait until next year.
