The castle was built here in the early sixteenth century, before he was in this place fortified manor house. In the early seventeenth century Bishop of Cracow M. Szyszkowski expanding it turning in early Baroque residence. The open courtyard surrounded by three wings of the early Baroque detail preserved the stone.

The first traces of the Palace in Zator date back to the fifteenth century. This is when it was first built as a fortified castle. The castle in Zator was then used as the seat of the dukes of Zator. In the second half of the eighteenth century, it was purchased by the family Duniów and partially rebuilt. The next owners of the castle in Zator were the families: Poniatowski, Tyszkiewiczowie, Wąsowiczowie and Potocki. They later rebuilt the palace, giving it a romantic neo-Gothic style. In the times of the last war, it was unlawfully taken from the rightful owners. Later, it became the seat of the Institute of Animal Production and Fisheries Department of Experiments, and the castle has been used as their head office. The castle was completely restored in the years 1964 to 1973. The ground floor has beautifully renovated rooms that are called: Hunting, Gold, Fern and Ivy.

The castle is unfortunately not opened as a museum. However, if being nearby, you can go to the secretariat located on the first floor and ask if they would open the renovated rooms.

Castle in Zator

Lipowiec castle perched on a high rocky ridge of Garb Tenczyński westernmost of the Cracow Upland. The first fortifications built here probably long before the castle. The castle was then rebuilt as a wooden castle on the initiative of Konrad Mazowiecki. Serious significance defense took the castle after the conquest of power by Boleslaw the Chaste, who in 1243 years Prandocie bishop instructed to erect here watchtower to protect the state border. 
The castle remained good bishop in 1295 years became the property of Bishop John Muskata. During his reign, greatly expanded the original intention. Then built the first brick elements, including the tower. Tower defense, in addition to the role fulfilled also as a prison for those sentenced to death by starvation, which was lowered to the bottom of a deep dungeon. Bishop was a supporter of the Duke of Bohemia Wenceslas II, who had a right to the Polish crown, crown, however, was in possession of Ladislaus the Short, and Muskat had to take refuge in the castle lipowieckim. 
In 1443 years the castle ceased to act as residential bishops of Krakow. Zbigniew Olesnicki after buying the Principality Siewierskie moved the seat of the bishops of the castle in Siewierzu. In Lipowiec created a prison for priests, but still stayed here permanently one of the bishops, priests and military crew. 
The next expansion was made in the fifteenth century, the whole took the current shape - a small courtyard surrounded by residential buildings below and the surrounding peripheral walled bailey. The tower was extended with three floors, and in this form has been preserved to this day unchanged. The upper two floors placed her adapted to firearms loopholes from which you can control the access to the entrance of the castle. This entry was placed more than 10 meters above the courtyard ward. Further modernization work has not breached greater fifteenth-century castle. 
Castle by the end of the eighteenth century served as a prison. And it's very good in prison, because there was only one case of a successful escape. Stankar Francis, author of the conduct of the Reformation in Poland was for his work embedded in Lipowiec. Around 1550 years coincided with the cell in which, according to legend, helped him in love with the daughter of a prison officer. When provided by the strings leave it out. 
In 1655 the castle was taken by the Swedes, who used it to house the governor of Krakow, General Paul Wirtz. After two years of retreating Swedes burned buildings. Reconstruction took up in 1732 the bishop of Constantine Szaniawski, in 1754 he graduated from the Bishop Andrzej Zaluski. Castle no longer matters having military again began to serve as a prison, but this time not as rigorous. Home improvement and retreats organized a special seminar for clergy imprisoned here.

history existed here in prison. Over the next 60 years, the castle was inhabited even after the fire of 1800, which damaged the buildings considerably. Then completely burned roofs and ceilings of rooms on the top floor. 
The castle remained inhabited until mid-nineteenth century. During the January Uprising in 1863 to protect a branch of General Marian Langiewicz. 
Now, after years of restoration work from 1961-1968 as a permanent ruin Lipowiec is made available to the public.

Lipowiec castle

There is no clear view of the castle hill Tenczyn time. Probably Andrew crest ax about half of the fourteenth century, completed the construction of a brick headquarters. The first assumption took the highest part of a hill, surrounded by the peripheral walls, within which there were probably three or four towers, one square, the other cylindrical. Starting from the beginning of the fifteenth century, it was often mentioned in documents from that time also are known for its burgrabiowie. From Andrew starts family line uses the names Tęczyńska. In the fifteenth century Tęczyńskis extended the castle. From the south tower was enlarged to form a quadrilateral of the gate tower called bobbins, in the north-west corner, a new building with a residential tower functions. The east wing has been expanded and served as representative, extended them to the gate tower. Apartment owners were located in the north wing. At the turn of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, there was another development, during which the gate tower was built between the eastern side of the chapel, which previously fulfilled the function room above the gatehouse passing. The castle was also increased by a lower portion extending along the southern and western section of the outer walls. 
Around 1570, the era of John Tęczyński, the castle was rebuilt in Renaissance style and shortly afterwards the lower part of the fortifications strengthened bastejowo-bastion. The entrance led the north-western corner by a circular Gatehouse territory of the bastion along the lower castle and the square tower of the upper castle. The upper castle courtyard surrounded by cloisters. 
After the death of the governor of Krakow John, the last male representative of the family, the castle passed along with the hand of his daughter Izabela in 1639 on the property of Luke Opaliński. The castle became the administrative center of the surrounding estates Opaliński who did not live here. During the Swedish invasion of lock no fights he got into the hands of the Swedes, who burned him retreating. 
Attempts to rebuild by subsequent owners have not restored the fortress former glory. Owners were Sieniawskis, Czartoryski and the Potocki. 
In 1768, in the castle was struck by lightning, of which he was the fire that destroyed the castle again to the extent that it was finally abandoned by the owners. In the early twentieth century attempted to protect the ruins from further damage, and after the Second World War, the work was completed.

Tenczyn Castle in Rudno

Pałac Potockich w Krzeszowicach – XIX-wieczna rezydencja Potockich położona w zachodniej części Krzeszowic, w pobliżu ulicy Ogrodowej w najwyższym punkcie tutejszego parku (290 m n.p.m.), nazywanej dawniej Górą Różaną.

Inicjatorem powstania pałacu był w I. poł. XIX w. właściciel Krzeszowic Artur Potocki. Pierwsze dwa projekty rezydencji powstały jednak jeszcze na zamówienie ks. Izabeli Lubomirskiej pod koniec XVIII w. W 1819 Artur Potocki zamówił plan pałacu u Charles’a Perciera i Pierre’a François Louisa Fontaine’a – budowniczych nowej części Luwru w Paryżu, ale projekt ten – ze względu na wysokie koszty realizacji – przekraczał możliwości finansowe zamawiającego[3]. Potocki zamówił projekt u Karla Schinkla, zmarł jednak przed jego zrealizowaniem. Budowę przeprowadził dopiero jego syn Adam Józef Potocki według projektu Franciszka Marii Lanciego (w pewnym stopniu czerpiącego z założeń Schinkla), zamówionego przez jego matkę Zofię z Branickich.

W 1850 z terenu budowy przeniesiono 35 zagrodników, którzy otrzymali wąskie pasy ziemi przy wzgórzu Solca (obecne parcele przy jednorzędowych wąskich bocznych uliczkach ul. Grunwaldzkiej). Pałac wzniesiony został w latach 1850-1857. Już rok później Adam Potocki zamówił plan przebudowy pałacu (u Filipa Pokutyńskiego), nie został on jednak zrealizowany, a wkrótce potem ukończono budowę według planów Lanciego.

Pałac był niewielką rezydencją w stylu renesansu włoskiego. Zbudowany został na wzniesieniu. W jego skład wszedł dwupiętrowy budynek główny z czterema narożnymi wieżami oraz dodatkowe skrzydła zamykające dziedziniec. Od wschodu wzniesiono ośmioboczną oranżerię połączoną z pałacem galeryjką, a przed główną fasadą – południową – obszerny taras widokowy. We wnętrzach cenny był zwłaszcza gabinet umeblowany meblami gdańskimi połączony schodami wykonanymi w tym samym stylu z częścią mieszkalną (obecnie schody te znajdują się w budynku Collegium Maius UJ (Stuba Communis) w Krakowie). Piękna była również sala balowa, w której do dziś zachowała się cenna dekoracja stiukowa. Pałac posiadał 228 pomieszczeń (charakter mieszkalny miało ok. 100 sal na piętrach). W wielu z nich Potoccy zgromadzili wartościowe zbiory malarstwa, rzeźby (dla posągu Merkurego Thorvaldsena zbudowano specjalny, połączony z pałacem ośmioboczny pawilon), rzemiosła artystycznego (np. kolekcja pasów kontuszowych) i pamiątek historycznych. Pierwsze i drugie piętro stanowiło część mieszkalną rezydencji, natomiast na parterze znajdowały się mające charakter muzealno-reprezentacyjny sale francuskie, pawilon-oranżeria, biblioteka i wspomniany już pokój gdański. W latach 1872-1873 Juliusz Kossak namalował obraz Powrót ze spaceru konnego w Krzeszowicach, a w 1877 Przed pałacem w Krzeszowicach, na których uwidocznił wejście od strony tarasu widokowego. Krzeszowickie zbiory znacznie ucierpiały podczas okupacji. Tuż po zakończeniu II wojny światowej właściciele podjęli nieudaną próbę wywiezienia ocalałej ich części za granicę. Sprawie tej ówczesne władze nadały duży rozgłos propagandowy.

Ciągłe przeróbki rezydencji trwały aż do 1870 (według projektu Friedricha Augusta Stülera i Parysa Filippiego). W 1871 zmieniono fasadę główną, a po 1893 przedłużono skrzydło zachodnie według projektu Zygmunta Hendla. Na przeł. XIX i XX w. dobudowano jeszcze skrzydło gospodarcze, tworząc dziedziniec gospodarczy.

Potoccy przeprowadzili się tutaj w 1862 i w ich posiadaniu pałac znajdował się aż do II wojny światowej – tu znajdowało się centrum rodowe tzw. ‘krzeszowickiej’ linii Potockich. W 1940 pałac stał się letnią rezydencją generalnego gubernatora Hansa Franka. Na jego polecenie dokonano przebudowy pałacu, dodając m.in. środkową klatkę schodową. Autorami przebudowy byli: Herbert Pohl, Koetgen i Horstmann.

Majątek wraz z pałacem został znacjonalizowany przez władze komunistyczne w czasie reformy rolnej. W pałacu siedzibę miał ośrodek szkolno-wychowawczy, a następnie dom opieki dla dzieci i młodzieży, w którym wychowywali się m.in. Sława Przybylska, Stefan Bratkowski, jego brat Andrzej Bratkowski i Jan Zaleski. Wówczas rozpoczął się proces jego destrukcji. W latach 70. i 80. XX w. planowano utworzenie tutaj centrum rehabilitacyjnego, lecz zamierzenia tego nie zrealizowano – pałac stopniowo niszczał, cierpiąc szczególnie wskutek braku ogrzewania i wilgoci. Obecnie pałac jest praktycznie nieużywany.

Pałac jest otoczony przez park założony przez Adama Potockiego w 1849. Zajmuje teren 12 hektarów i mimo, iż jest zaniedbany od II wojny światowej, wciąż stanowi atrakcję Krzeszowic.

W 2006 kręcono tu zdjęcia do spektaklu Zwierzoczłekoupiór, a w 2007 do filmu Deklaracja nieśmiertelności.

W 2001 rodzina Potockich podjęła starania o zwrot nieruchomości, argumentując, że majątek nie powinien podlegać reformie rolnej, gdyż w pałacu nie prowadzono działalności rolniczej. W 2004 ówczesny wojewoda małopolski stwierdził w drodze decyzji administracyjnej, że majątek jednak jej podlegał. Od tego rozstrzygnięcia rodzina Potockich odwołała się do ministra rolnictwa. Ten uchylił skarżoną decyzję i przekazał sprawę wojewodzie do ponownego rozpatrzenia. W 2008 wojewoda małopolski Jerzy Miller orzekł, że majątek Potockich nie powinien podlegać dekretowi, a zatem powinien zostać zwrócony; jego decyzję podtrzymał minister rolnictwa. Decyzja ta została zaskarżona do Naczelnego Sądu Administracyjnego, który w 2013 roku potwierdził roszczenia spadkobierców.

Budynek został wpisany do rejestru zabytków nieruchomych województwa małopolskiego.

Palace Potockich in Kreshovice

Already in ancient times there was a castle here, which protect the local population in times of danger. In 1044 years Casimir the Restorer brought to Tyniec Benedictine, who shortly afterwards at the castle erected the first brick elements - the Romanesque church and monastery buildings with a small cloister arcade. Since 1247 years the monastery has increased the importance of defense, as became a fortress frontier. During this period the monastery was already surrounded by the castle wall with towers. In 1259 years was destroyed during the Tatar invasion. The rebuilt monastery again destroyed the army of Bishop John Muskata. 
In the fourteenth century stronghold had defensive tower and the building of the county, and the entrance ran through two gates. In the first half of the fifteenth century Polish state border shifted south-west, so the monastery ceased to be an important stronghold. Neglected fortifications were once more renewed, but in the middle of the fifteenth century, the building previously used by the crew of the king was ceded to the monks to serve as a dwelling abbots. In the sixteenth century, the assumption was expanded. 
The monastery suffered greatly during the Swedish wars in the seventeenth century the monastery at the foot of the ramparts with towers, later upgraded with the bastions. 
Close proximity to Krakow meant that the monastery was used in the eighteenth century by the army during the Bar Confederation. During the construction work carried out since 1769 years Tyniec monastery became a strong bastion fortress, repeatedly plagued by foreign armies. 
In 1831 destroyed the monastery buildings destroyed by fire, after which discontinued use of the fortress. It was only in the interwar period to the monastery returned Benedictines who gradually heaved it out of the ruins. Today most of the monastic buildings are already renovated.

Monastery in Tyniec

The Lanckorona Castle was built in the early 14th century in Lanckorona, Poland. It was damaged in several fires and during conflicts, especially in 1655 during the Swedish Deluge and Battle of Lanckorona in 1771. It fell into total ruin in the 20th century as the Communist government of the People's Republic of Poland encouraged looting and the decay of royal cultural heritage sites in favour of new social realism in line with the propaganda in the People's Republic of Poland.

As documented in the manuscripts of the chronicler and diplomat Jan Długosz, King Casimir III the Great erected the Lanckorona Castle to protect the road to Kraków and the border with the Duchy of Oświęcim.

Lanckorona Castle

Among the monuments found in the village of Czaniec, at the foot of the Little Beskids, it is worth seeing a fortified manor. This noble residence, dating from the seventeenth century, underwent several reconstructions, made both at the time of its construction and in later periods. The property, which has been deteriorating in recent years, is privately owned, and has been recently renovated and partially rebuilt.
