Ruins of residence of family Schaffgotsch,also called "Palace on the water" are located in Kopice, village in Grodków Commune, by the way leading from Grodków to Niemodlin.The history starts in 1360 when it was a property of a kin von Borsnitz. A few times it had had different owners before it became a possession of famous Silesian nobles von Sierstorpff. From their initiatives it was rebuilt into classic residence, an age later, famous architect Karol Luedecke created a unique object from the palace by adding french and Netherlands' renaissance and english style of Tudors to neo-gothic and classicism. The palace has got numerous towers, pinnacle, richness of stonework, assymetry and diversity of elevation. On the groundfloor there were 57 rooms, on the first floor 46 ones, in the basement 54 ones , and on the second floor.

Informacje źródłowe o pierwszym zamku w Jędrzejowie pochodzą z XVIII w., kiedy to osada należała do rodziny von Gilgenheim. Następnie pojawia się w dokumentach prostokątny pałac, rozbudowany w latach 1882-83 na zlecenie Harryego von Francken-Sierstorpff. Odnowiona siedziba była innowacyjna w stosunku do budowanych wówczas rezydencji śląskich. Całe założenie opiera się na połączeniu cech neogotyku angielskiego, francuskiego i niemieckiego. Szczęśliwie, pałac uniknął zniszczeń wojennych. Od czasów powojennych mieści się tam Dom Pomocy Społecznej.

Opis
Pałac neogotycki z XIX w. Budynek jest murowany z kamienia i cegły, otynkowany, zbudowany na nieregularnym planie i przykryty płaskim dachem. Rozłożysta bryła składa się z korpusu w kształcie prostokąta i prostopadle ułożonego skrzydła bocznego, zakończonego okrągłą wieżą. Fasada posiada czworoboczną i czterokondygnacjową wieżę, łączącą trzykondygnacyjną część budynku, z niższą częścią, dwukondygnacyjną, mieszczącą dawną salę balową. Wieża umieszczona jest asymetrycznie na fasadzie. Główne wejście wiedzie przez wieżę, poprzedzone jest arkadowym podcieniem i strzeżone przez dwa lwy usytuowane po bokach balustrady. Wyższą wieżę pałacu zdobi herb rodu Francken-Sierstorpff. Skrzydło boczne jest dwukondygnacyjne, z wyjściem na taras w loggii. Pałac jest bogato zdobiony wieżyczkami, arkadowymi fryzami, wykuszami i oknami o ostrołukowym wykroju. Na elewacja znajdziemy również powtarzające się ryzality i loggie. Rolę gzymsu koronującego pełni krenelaż.

Park
Pałac otoczony jest dużym parkiem krajobrazowym oraz tarasami z rzeźbami i fontannami z motywami mitologicznymi.

Palace in Jędrzejow

Sulisław – a palace from Hindu fables
Gabriel Garcia Márquez describes a scene in his “One Hundred Years of Solitude”, where the wife prepared her husband’s favourite soup. It is a daily ritual that has repeated itself for many years. The protagonist picks up the spoon, tastes the dish, and pushes the plate away. “This soup was prepared without love” – he remarks.

That fragment of the book reminds me of the palace at Sulisław, because here, everything seems to have been prepared with love. For even the construction site, in harmonious co-existence with nature, was chosen with love. Each ornament on the building was perfected to the tiniest detail, and the current owners of the complex have equipped the interiors with their favourite furniture. The meals are prepared by the chef in such a way that no one would ever push the plate away. Time itself flows differently in such places, it is warm and completely still. The unusual atmosphere of this place is brought out by the discreet rustle of the sari dress, worn by the multiple dark-skinned Ayurveda specialists flowing through the corridors. The palace staff specialises in this ancient Hindu healing art.

The Field Marshall is granted the estate
People say that nothing in life is subject to chance. The early years of Sulisław are lost to history, but we know for sure that the first settlement was created in a mysterious location. Sulisław has historically been a part of the Ziemia Grodkowska region. Oleśnica Mała, only 20 kilometres away from the Palace, was the first and biggest commandery of the Templar Order in Silesia. The Templars had come there from their chapter house located in Bamberg, Germany. Oleśnica Mała was the headquarters of the provincial administration of the Order. Around 10 villages were located in the Templar demesne, and, at the best of times, more than a dozen brothers had called the commandery their home. Even despite such a small amount of knights, the Order was seen as a key player by the Silesian lords. The castle was visited by Henry III the White, the son of Henry II the Pious; by the Bishop of Wrocław Henryk of Wierzbno; and by the Grand Master of the German Province and Order Commander of the German, Czech, Moravian, and Polish Templars. The enjoyed hunting in the nearby forests, around the early knightly settlement of Sulisław.

The word of mouth says that the estate in Sulisław was established in the Middle Ages by the Zedlitz family. The estate had changed hands many times. One of the owners was the Bucht family from Pruszyna. The earliest documents say that back in 1688, there was a manor estate with a mill located at Sulisław, and the village was home to twenty serfs, eighteen smallholders and sixteen landless cotters. By the end of the 18th century, Sulisław became part of the clerical estate of the Bishop of Gałązczyce Górne. After the secularisation of ecclesiastical demesnes in 1810, the property was taken over by Frederic William III, the King of Prussia and a member of the Hochenzollern dynasty.

When Prussia went to war against Russia in 1812, it was commanded by General Yorck. Under his command, the Prussian troops quickly changed sides and he marched against Napoleon at the side of his erstwhile enemies. Prussian armies led by Yorck have greatly contributed to the defeat of Napoleon. In 1814, in recognition of his achievements, the King of Prussia had granted the Sulisław estate to Yorck, who already had held the title of Field Marshall. A commemorative stone, with the name of the King carved on it, can still be found in the park. The Field Marshall went on to become the founder of the Yorck von Wartenburg family, and his most famous descendant was one of the founders of the Kreisau Circle, an anti-Nazi organisation located within Germany. We can see that the family was by no means insignificant. It is also worth noting that the Yorckscher Marsch that you can sometimes hear during military ceremonies, was composed by Ludwig von Beethoven in honour of Field Marshall Yorck.

The surrounding fields and plains are very favourable when it comes to horseback travel, and so, most probably, the Field Marshall had also used that method of transport within his estate. He held on to it for only a short time, however. In 1820 he had sold it to the Hoffman family. After that, Hugo Grosser, the county alderman, became the next owner of the estate. Despite being of humble birth, he must have had very deep pockets and an even great ambition.

A Cinderella Count
In order to be able to follow later developments at Sulisław we have to make a short stop at the nearby village of Kopice to hear a magical story. It might sound like a fairy tale, but it explains how the castle became the property of its next owner.

It was the year 1848. Karol Godula, an old loner and eccentric, was lying in bed in one of the rooms of the “Pod Złotą Gęsią” hotel in Wrocław. Despite being the owner of nineteen calamine mines, forty coal mines, three smelters, and five vast land estates, he couldn’t ignore the fact that he was dying. Many envied this old industrialist his fortune, and he had few friends. The emperor looked down on him because Godula was not of noble birth, and his workers were afraid of him because he was very strict when it came to drunkenness. As a young man, Godula had worked as a forester for count Ballestrem. One day, he had been crippled by poachers, who left him with a stiff leg and arm and hideous scars on his face. He never married. It’s possible he was infertile because of his injuries, too. His appearance itself made everyone afraid of him. Everyone, but the small Joasia Grycik. It was her who eventually inherited Godula’s fortune, even despite being completely unrelated to him by blood.

Joanna was born in 1842 in Poręba, close to Ruda. Her father was a bailiff and it is assumed he had worked at one of Godula’s plants. He died young and his widow left Joasia alone together with her 6-month-old sister Karolina. In 1847 a family court had appointed a caretaker for the girls by the name of Emilia Lukas, a servant of the industrialist. The girls were accepted into Godula’s home. He must have very much liked the Joanna as, just for her, he hired a private tutor. When Godula was diagnosed with serious kidney failure, he took the girl to accompany him to Wrocław, where he had hoped to find a remedy for his condition. It was in Wrocław that he died. In his last will, drawn up just a day before his death, he gave 50,000 thalers to the miners who had worked for him, only 200,000 thalers to his relatives, and the remainder of his vast fortune to his servant’s adoptive daughter. It is hard to say today why the old man decided on such a course of action, but – maybe by chance – he had chosen a great heir. The six-year-old millionaire had grown into an intelligent young lady and eventually she married count Hans Ulrich von Schaffgotsch. The 25-year-old impoverished aristocrat was looking for a wealthy wife. He was a young lieutenant in the hussar regiment and had already received the Maltese Cross. Moreover, he belonged to one of the greatest families in Europe. That, eventually, proved to have been somewhat of a problem. Joanna was not, after all, of noble birth and therefore was not a suitable candidate for a magnate to marry. However, thanks to an intervention from the Prussian king himself, Joanna was granted the necessary titles. And so the poor Joanna Grycik became Countess Joanna Grycik von Schomberg-Godulla. A misalliance was avoided and the young couple went on to live in Kopice. At that time it was one of the most beautiful residences in all of Silesia, and many aristocrats gladly visited it. Joanna felt a strong connection with Kopice, it was there that she felt the best. Despite all that, however, she travelled very often with her husband. Additionally, the millionaires devoted a lot of time to charity. She continued purchasing new estates and industrial facilities. This is how we come back to Sulisław. In 1888, acting on behalf of her oldest son, the 29-year-old Hans Karl Graf von Schaffgotsch, the Countess bought the Palace and the surrounding grounds, totalling 510 hectares.

Hans Karl made Sulisław his seat of residence. The estate remained in his hands for 20 years and it was here that two of his children were born. His wife, Paula von Furstenberg gave him Hans Ulrich (born 9.12.1889) and Hedwig Maria (born 22/23.6.1891). In 1909 Sulisław passed on to a wealthy neighbouring family from the nearby town of Jędrzejów – the Francken-Sierstorpffs. To be more precise, Johannes Graf von Francken-Sierstrorpff rented out the estate at first, only to buy it later.

Interestingly enough, the same family used to be the owners of the village of Kopice, before Hans’s mother came to live in it.

The treasures of the Palace
The Francken-Sierstorpffs were very affluent. The new owner of Sulisław, Johannes Graf von Franken-Sierstorpff came from the Jędrzejów branch of the family.

Sulisław at that time must have welcomed many fine guests – a luxurious set of silver cutlery was discovered in the vaults of the Palace in 2013. The pieces were very impressive and were meticulously engraved with the coat of arms of the Francken-Sierstorpffs. The estate remained with the family until the end of World War II. Once per year, on Christmas Eve, the owners would invite all their servants to the castle to celebrate the holiday together. They’d exchange wishes and sing carols. The daughter of the last coachman at the Palace, Franz Stenzel, had received a beautiful set of ruby earrings from the owners, as a gift for her First Communion before the war. She wears them to this day.

World War II arrived late to Sulisław. The day when the brutal siege of the nearby Grodków started on 5 February 1945. Russian troops have captured the city three days later, and the soldiers have also entered Sulisław at the same time. Most probably, they have devastated the interiors and used the 1820s fireplace as a grill. The slow deterioration of the Palace began. For two years after the war, Sulisław was the winter home of the „Arena” circus troupe. The palace and the surrounding area must have looked like an enormous, eclectic ZOO. At one point, an elephant lived in front of the residence. The chambers of the Palace were waiting for better times. For a short while, the headquarters of the “Służba Polsce”, a paramilitary organization for the young, were located here. Then, the buildings were taken over by the Ministry of the Interior and, later, the Opole Provincial Police. The palace was remodelled into a sanatorium. Between 2000 and 2006 the palace stood empty and forgotten. However, as we know by now, it is a unique building, and its luck had to turn around at some point. As if by chance (yet again!), Jerzy Bar, the head of the BTA Investment Company, an entity specialising in investing into new generation office buildings in Warsaw, has encountered the desolate estate. He felt the positive energy of this place and had bought the palace along with the manor grounds in 2006.

Palace in Sulisław

Ducal castle, built in the early fourteenth century, from 1314 to 1382 was the residence of the princes Niemodlińskie. In 1428 it was destroyed during the Hussite wars, burned in 1552. twice rebuilt the residence of a renaissance in the years 1575 and 1589-1592. In 1610, the castle chapel was built. Again, the castle was destroyed in 1643 during the Thirty Years War and then rebuilt. 
From the original assumptions preserved fragments of the walls indicating that the medieval castle was built on a regular plan probably rectangle. The existing castle today is founded on the plan of the great horseshoe entrance tower topped with a cupola on the axis. Courtyard circulated formerly Renaissance cloister, rebuilt probably in the second half of the nineteenth century.

Castle Niemodlin

Barokowy pałac we Frączkowie zbudowany został w latach 1730- 1750 i był siedzibą rodową von Gilgenheimbów. Po śmierci Leopolda von Gilgenheimb w 1823r rezydencja przeszła na własność jego syna Erharda. Ostatnim właścicielem dóbr frączkowskich z tego rodu był hrabia Erdman.
W 1862r Frączków i okoliczne ziemie odkupił od wuja Erdmana hrabia Alexander von Francken-Sierstorpff pochodzący z Nadrenii. To jemu pałac zawdzięcza przebudowę w latach 1886- 1889 na styl neorenesansu. Przeprowadzono wówczas również prace melioracyjne oraz rozbudowano park.
Od 1915r pałac i okoliczne ziemie przeszły w ręce kolejnego właściciela i był nim Joseph Maria Kaspar von Francken-Sierstorpff . Około 1935r pożar jaki wybuch w rezydencji prawie doszczętnie ją zniszczył. Odbudowano wówczas środkową, najstarszą część z salonem rokokowym. W latach 1935- 1936 dokonano modernizacji budowli, która przybrała charakter wiejskiej posiadłości. Autorem projektu była sama hrabina- Helena von Praschm. Do dziś z tamtego okresu zachował się kominek z herbami rodowymi.
Podczas II wojny światowej rodzina mieszkała w pałacu a wojna niewiele zmieniła w jej życiu i dopiero gdy do Frączkowa zbliżały się wojska radzieckie, opuścili oni pałac podobnie jak opuściła wieś ludność pochodzenia niemieckiego. Po przejściu frontu pałac został zdewastowany, a czego nie zniszczyli żołnierze radzieccy to rozkradli i zniszczyli szabrownicy.
Po 1945r nowym właścicielem pałacu został skarb państwa. 
Przeprowadzono wówczas częściowy remont i urządzono tam mieszkania dla rodzin przesiedleńców. Niestety, nikt o budynek nie dbał. Kiedy w lutym 1949r obejrzano pałac, był doszczętnie zniszczony, nie posiadał okien, drzwi i pieców, a w dobrym stanie zachował się jedynie stary folwark.
Po kolejnym remoncie kilka lat później w dawnym pałacu powstało przedszkole, kaplica oraz dwa gabinety lekarskie. Na jakiś czas sytuacja obiektu polepszyła się.
W 1971r na terenie pałacu i parku powstał PGR, który od 1973r miał tam swoja siedzibę przeniesioną z Nysy. Dokonano kapitalnego remontu pałacu oraz uporządkowano przyległy do niego park. W pałacu toczyło się życie kulturalne pracowników PGR-u oraz mieszkańców okolicznych wsi. W parku odbywały się festyny, mecze i imprezy towarzyskie.
Obecnie pałac we Frączkowie oraz park są własnością Marzeny Horwat-Natoli oraz Pina Natoli. Trwające 3 lata prace remontowe zaowocowały powstaniem w pałacu hotelu z restauracją. Służy on też jako ośrodek szkoleniowo- konferencyjny, a park pełni rolę rekreacyjną.
Pałac we Frączkowie tonie w ciszy i kwiatach, siedząc na tarasie przy kawie i pysznej Panna Cotta podziwiałam otoczenie z małą fontannę. Właściciele mili podobnie jak obsługa. To idealne miejsce do wyciszenia się oraz odpoczynku od gwaru i zgiełku.

Palace in Frączkow

The Palace in Tułowice in southwestern Poland dates from the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It was built around 1800 for Francis of Lasocki, probably designed by Hilary Szpilowski who created many beautiful classicist palaces in the Mazovia region. The Tułowice Mansion is one of the region's most beautiful landowners' residences. It exhibits harmony of form, architectural beauty and atmosphere.

Tułowice manor house was built around 1800 for Francis from Lasocki family. Over the years, often changed owners (Linowski Constantine was in his possession in the years 1822 to 1833, then became the property Orsetich, since 1857. Mountain, then Marcel Divine, Hilary Ostrowski, from 1871 to the early twentieth century was in possession Bolechowskich, in the interwar Domaszowskich). Today, along with the park is owned by private person a painter Andrzej Novák-Zempliński. The owner respected the style in which the mansion was maintained and in the 80s built outbuilding also maintained a similar neoclassical spirit,also then in the park neo-Gothic chapel stood there.

This is a ground-floor building with a higher central part of the house. It is preceded by a four column Tuscan portico crowned with a triangular pediment. Interesting fact is that portico. Interesting fact is that the portico was placed in the garden elevation rather than the front elevation. This change of the front elevation and opening the living room for the view of the park is an expression of a new era of the Enlightenment.

This palace stands in opposition to the elegant Baroque palaces and endless courtyard garden. This is a quiet, intimate and directed to the residents house where nature plays a very important role. This is a reference to the era of romanticism which laid emphasis on the role of dreams and nature. From the front of mansion is decorated with a modest break with a pair of Tuscan pilasters and triangular pediments.

Tułowice on the map of the world, especially among the fans carriages and horse-drawn vehicles, traditional Polish court, emphasizes authentic collection of carriages, which is in the possession of the owner. It is the only collection in Poland, the owner have 24 vehicles, most of the documented provenance. They are kept inspecially adapted stylish carriage house, a former court stables.

Palace in Tułowice

Na temat pałacu w Obórkach zachowało się bardzo mało informacji, obiekt został wzniesiony bądź też gruntowanie przebudowany w 1888 r., na zlecenie rodziny von Müller. Neorenesansowy budynek, murowany z cegły, potynkowany, wzniesiony na rzucie prostokąta, dwukondygnacyjny, nakryty wysokim dachem naczółkowym z lukarnami, z dobudówką w przedłużeniu jednej z bocznych elewacji. Fasada dziesięcioosiowa, z symetrycznym siedmioosiowym korpusem, w nim centralny trzykondygnacyjny, wydatny ryzalit, przypominający wieżę, zwieńczony czterospadowym hełmem, częściowo skrytym za neorenesansowymi szczytami. Na osi ryzalitu niewielki ganek mieszczący główne wejście do budynku, ponad nim kartusz herbowy. W elewacji tylnej centralny dwukondygnacyjny ryzalit. Elewacje budynku zachowały ślady ozdobnych detali: boniowane przyziemie, część obramowań otworów okiennych, wydatny gzyms wieńczący i fragmenty gzymsów przepaskowych między kondygnacjami.

Palace in Oborki

Kolejny ciekawy pałac, do którego trafiłam znajduje się we wsi Biechów leżącej na północ od Nysy. Pierwsze wzmianki w kronikach pochodzą z 1336r kiedy wieś związana była z kasztelanią otmuchowską. Jej nazwa pochodzi od imienia Biech- Benedykt.
Wieś posiadała wielu właścicieli i należała do rodzin:  von Beess, von Starhemberg, von Hoditz i von Montbach. Znajdował się tam barokowy zespół dworski poddany modernizacji w XVIw i wówczas zabudowania zostały wzbogacone o kaplicę. W 1856r majątek ten należał do wywodzącego się ze starej szlachty śląskiej rodu von Matuschke z Toppolczan. Pałac, kaplica i budynki gospodarcze spłonęły w 1854r i postanowiono go odbudować.
Nowy pałac w Biechowie odbudował w latach 1863- 1865 hrabia Eloi Maria von Matuschke , wolny pana Rzeszy von Spaettgen. Projekt wykonał królewski radca budowlany  Karl Johann Lüdecke, któremu sławę przyniosły również pałace: w Tułowicach i Kopicach. Zachowane do dziś projekty pomogły dowiedzieć się jakie było przeznaczenie poszczególnych pomieszczeń rezydencji.
Po jego śmierci hrabiego w 1884r majątek odziedziczył jego syn Manfred, rotmistrz rezerwy. Za jego czasów pałac poddany został w 1904r przebudowie. Rezydencja w Biechowie należała do rodu von Matuschke do 1945r, kiedy to w lutym ostatni z tego rodu opuścił pałac. Po wojnie rezydencja niszczała aż do lat 60tych XX w kiedy to utworzono w niej szkołę.
Murowany z cegły, otynkowany, neorenesansowy pałac zbudowano na planie prostokąta. Dwukondygnacyjna budowla na ścianie frontowej mieści 52 okna, które zdobią herby. Główne wejście prowadzi przez ganek wsparty na kolumnach. Najciekawiej jednak prezentuje się pałac od strony ogrodu, do którego wiodą schody. Elewacja posiada wiele urozmaiceń oraz wieżę z lukarnami. Rant dachu zdobią stylizowane na antyczne wazy i obeliski.
Za pałacem znajduje się park, który przechodzi w las- rezerwat krajobrazowy zwany „Wąwozem Biechowskim”. W sąsiedztwie pałacu znajdują się zabudowania gospodarcze oraz stawy rybne przylegające do parku i lasu. Przed pałacem na trawniku ustawiona jest antyczna, marmurowa głowica kolumny.
Ze względu na różnice terenu, założenie wokół pałacu ma układ tarasowy. W najwyższym punkcie możemy podziwiać kaplicę dworską , którą poprzedza wysoki kamienny mur z dwubiegowymi schodami. Pod skarpą mieściło się mauzoleum rodzinne, które zostało zniszczone w latach 70tych XXw.
Starostwo sprzedało pałac w Biechowie, w którym mieściła się szkoła, wraz z 10- hektarowym parkiem i stawami wrocławskiej spółce, która planuje prowadzić tam działalność paramedyczną. Póki co ogrodzona budowla może być podziwiana zza płotu, gdyż teren wokół pałacu jest monitorowany.

Palace in Biechow

Pierwsza wzmianka o miejscowości: 1447r.

W pierwszej połowie XV w. Jagielno wchodziło w skład dóbr rodziny von Borsnitz. W dokumencie z 1469r. wzmiankowani byli bracia Hans i Heinz von Borsnitz. Kolejnymi właścicielami miejscowości byli przedstawiciele rodu von Pogrell. Przed 1632r., po śmierci Zygmunta von Pogrell majątek odziedziczyła jego córka, Maria Margaretha, małżonka Heinricha von Reder und Türpitz (z Cierpic). W 1666r. Jagielno kupił Christoph Leopold von Schubarth und Bruck. Pod koniec wojny siedmioletniej dobra należały do generała majora Joachima Friedricha Christiana von Tresckow (zm. 1762r.). Następnie właściciele majątku często się zmieniali. W 1783r. Jagielno posiadał kolejny generał major – Martin Anton von Puttkammer. Po nim dobra należały do rodziny von Reibnitz i rodziny Hofereller, by na początku XIX w. przejść na własność rodu von Paczensky und Tenczin. W 1830r. właścicielem dóbr był major Reich, a po nim jego spadkobiercy. W 1858r. posiadłość nabył Hermann Nathan z Hamburga. W 1886r. majątek liczący 366ha należał do Gebharda von Byern, od którego trzy lata później kupił go baron Elgar von Dalwig. Baron von Dalwig pomiędzy 1894 a 1902rokiem połączył kilka posiadłości w dobra Jagielno (Herrschaft Deutsch Jäg). Ich całkowita powierzchnia liczyła 748ha, w tym samego Jagielna 377ha. W 1907r. Elgar von Dalwig sprzedał dobra powiększone do 898ha hrabiemu Leo von Ballestrem (ur.1873r., zm.1915r.), synowi Franciszka II von Ballestrem z Pławniowic. Po śmierci hrabiego Leona w czasie pierwszej wojny światowej majątek odziedziczył wdowa po nim hrabina Ewa von Ballestrem, z domu baronowa von Durant. Jako właścicielkę wymieniają ją księgi adresowe do 1930r. W 1937r. była współwłaścicielką dóbr wraz z dwiema dorosłymi córkami: Marią Ewą (ur. 1905r.) i Marią Agnieszką (ur. 1908r.). W rękach rodziny von Ballestrem posiadłość pozostała do końca drugiej wojny światowej, następnie została znacjonalizowana i przekazana w zarząd Państwowemu Gospodarstwu Rolnemu. Pałac zaniedbany po 1945r. powoli popadał w ruinę. W 1976r. był jeszcze częściowo użytkowany, w latach osiemdziesiątych został ostatecznie opuszczony i zniszczony. Obecnie ruiny wraz z otaczającym je parkiem są własnością prywatną. Całą posiadłość otacza solidne ogrodzenie. Resztki zabytku można zobaczyć tylko z większej odległości. Prywatny inwestor odgruzował ruiny, nie prowadzi jednak żadnych prac przy odbudowie pałacu. Trudno określić jakie są jego plany wobec tego miejsca.

W pierwszej połowie XV w. w Jagielnie został wzniesiony zamek, zniszczony w 1443r. na rozkaz księcia oleśnickiego Konrada IV (zm. 1447r.), biskupa wrocławskiego. Następnie zamek został odbudowany przez rodzinę von Pogrell. Po przebudowie w pierwszej połowie XVII w. rezydencja założona na rzucie kwadratu z czterema narożnymi wieżami mogła przypominać pałac w Wojanowie. Kolejne przekształcenia pałacu w Jagielnie miały miejsce w drugiej połowie XVII i w XVIII w. Pod koniec XIX w. Elgar von Dalwid rozbudował rezydencję o dodatkowe skrzydła.  Po 1907r. ostatniej przebudowy pałacu dokonała rodzina von Ballestrem. Zabytek był budynkiem renesansowym, z elementami neorenesansowymi i neogotyckimi. Murowany z kamienia i cegły, pierwotnie potynkowany. Obecnie zachowane przede wszystkim mury obwodowe. W elewacji zachodniej fragmentarycznie przetrwała dwukondygnacyjna trójosiowa loggia. Wokół pałacu rozciąga się rozległy park krajobrazowy. W pobliżu zabudowania gospodarcze folwarku, pochodzące z XIX w. i pierwszego ćwierćwiecza XX w. W nieznanych okolicznościach w ścianie jednego z pofolwarcznych budynków znalazła się tablica z kartuszem herbowym hrabiego von Wartensleben, z pobliskich Samborowic. Jagielno nigdy nie było własnością rodziny von Wartensleben. Możliwe, że kartusz przeniesiono po drugiej wojnie światowej, z rozpadającego się pałacu w Samborowicach. Jest jednak jeszcze inna hipoteza, być może Otto von Bangerow z Samborowic prowadził w swojej rezydencji w latach dwudziestych XX w. prace budowlane i postanowił pozbyć się kartusza, z herbem jej wcześniejszego właściciela. Kartusz mógł zostać przekazany rodzinie Ballestrem, która wmurowała go w ścianę wznoszonego budynku gospodarczego.

Dojazd komunikacją publiczną do Jagielna jest praktycznie nierealny, w miejscowości zatrzymują się tylko pojedyncze autobusy PKS z Samborowic i Strzelina. Do samego Strzelina z Górnego Śląska najłatwiej dotrzeć pociągiem z przesiadką we Wrocławiu. Podróżującym samochodem proponuję jechać autostradą A4 w kierunku Wrocławia do węzła Przylesie, następnie DK401 do Grodkowa i dalej DK385 w stronę Ziębic. Z tej ostatniej trasy za miejscowością Jagielnica należy skręcić w lewo w lokalna drogę prowadząca prosto do Jagielna. Ruiny pałacu i parkiem znajdują się na lewo od drogi. Odległość: z Gliwic w jedną stronę około 150 km. Samochód można zaparkować przy zabudowaniach gospodarczych dawnego folwarku.

Brzeg Castle is located in Brzeg, Opole Voivodeship, within the Silesia region of Poland. Now a museum, the structures includes the Piast dynasty mausoleum.
Brzeg Castle is located on a cliff to the west of the Oder River, in the city of Brzeg on the border of Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the Opole Voivodeship provinces in southwestern Poland. It is situated near the national road 39 between Namysłów and Strzelin.
Earliest reports of the castle's existence describe a small fortress with a moat and fortified walls, built in 1235 during the reign of Henry I the Bearded. A square tower known as "The Tower of Lions" was built adjoining the castle. The Piast family branch, which ruled over Duchy of Brzeg, lived in the castle between 1311 until 1675. In 1342, the castle was made the capital seat of the duchy after which it was refurbished many times. In 1370, Prince Ludwik I extended the castle and constructed its chapel which includes the Piast dynasty mausoleum. During Frederick II of Legnica's reign in 1544, more buildings were added to the castle, with the construction completed in 1560. The additions were in the form of two new buildings, a large courtyard enclosing the buildings and an ambulatory. Additional structures built during this period included a tower gate which was the entrance to the structure. Busts of the Piast princes were part of the gate's decor. Modifications in design were from the Gothic style fort to the Renaissance type of architecture in Silesia.
In 1741, the castle was destroyed by the Prussian forces in the First Silesian War, during which the ruins were used as a warehouse for the Prussian Army. After the war, the town — called Brieg in German — with most of Silesia was annexed from Austria to Prussia. Brieg remained in Prusso-German possession until most of Silesia was transferred to Poland in 1945.
During a fire in 1801, there was further damage to the castle. In 1920, reconstruction of the abandoned castle began, but during World War II, damage to the castle was quite extensive. The castle was rebuilt in Renaissance style during 1966–78 and again from 1980–94. It currently serves as the Museum of the Silesian Piasts (Muzeum Piastów Śląskich).
The rebuilt castle is also called "The Silesian Wawel". It was rebuilt by Jakub Parr, Franciscus Pahr, and Bernard Niuron from Italy. Its present facade is known as "one of the most magnificent historical monument of the Renaissance period in Central Europe". The courtyard has been restored with triple story galleries. The interior of some rooms in the eastern wing, which are in the Renaissance style on the ground floor, are well preserved.
The museum, which is part of the castle, has exhibits which trace the history of the Silesian Piasts. Some of the notable paintings exhibited are from a collection of the National Museum of Wrocław and paintings of Michael Leopold Wilmann, a well known Silesian Baroque painter. The museum also has well-preserved sarcophaguses of the dukes of Legnica and Brzeg. Dating to the 14th century, Poland's only "perfectly preserved medieval hunting bow" is an archeological find from excavations at Brzeg's Mleczna Street.
