Description

Ducal castle, built in the early fourteenth century, from 1314 to 1382 was the residence of the princes Niemodlińskie. In 1428 it was destroyed during the Hussite wars, burned in 1552. twice rebuilt the residence of a renaissance in the years 1575 and 1589-1592. In 1610, the castle chapel was built. Again, the castle was destroyed in 1643 during the Thirty Years War and then rebuilt.

From the original assumptions preserved fragments of the walls indicating that the medieval castle was built on a regular plan probably rectangle. The existing castle today is founded on the plan of the great horseshoe entrance tower topped with a cupola on the axis. Courtyard circulated formerly Renaissance cloister, rebuilt probably in the second half of the nineteenth century.
