The street of Gdansk are the ruins of the castle of the bishop. It was a castle built by the bishops of the chapter Pomezania in the early fourteenth century, a square with a courtyard and square towers at the corners and Gdanisko connected with the castle porch supported by five monumental arcades. King Wladyslaw Jagiello took the castle during the great expedition against the Teutonic Knights in 1410. The second room Thorn admitted castle in 1466 the Teutonic Knights. Swedes during the flood in 1655 damaged the castle. The Prussian authorities partially demolished it in the eighteenth century. In the currently preserved north and west wing houses a branch of the Castle Museum in Malbork. Also preserved the largest gdanisko and well tower with a porch.

The Gniew Castle is the mightiest fortress of the Teutonic order on the left bank of the Vistula River. Built at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, it was the home of Teutonic commanders, and, in Polish times, the seat of starostas. Rebuilt many times in the 19th century (granary, prison), it finally burned in the Great Fire of 1921.
In 1968-1974, “FAMA” Marine Machinery Works in Gniew began the first phase of the castle rebuilt. That phase was finished with laying ceilings over the last storey, making a roof structure and covering it with ceramic roofing tiles. In 1992, the City and Commune Council in Gniew, started the second phase of the castle rebuilt within public works. It consisted of making ceilings in the western and eastern wings, adaptation of interiors together with rebuilt of the chapel and tourist development of the Castle Hill.
Nowadays, within the Gniew stronghold their seats have:
- “European Historical Park in the Gniew Castle” Fundation;
- Branch of Archaeological Museum in Gdańsk;
- "Schola Cantorum Genevensis"choir;
- Yellow Infantry Regiment of Gustavus II Adolphus;
- Hussar banner of Mr. Mieczysław Struka;
- “MORION” blacksmith-armourer workshop.
Performances and historical outdoor stagings and knight tournaments organized here from 1992 have caused the Gniew Castle to be recognized as one of main medieval tradition dissemination centres in Poland. Throughout the year there are organized conferences, conventions, scientific symposiums and banquets. What is more, the castle offers one- and several-days stays for organized teenage groups with “live history lessons”, a bonfire and with a visit of “the Gniew Castle Ghost”.

Castle in Gniewie

Nowe Castle (Polish: Zamek w Nowem) - a castle located on the bank of the River Vistula by the Castle Square.

The castle was constructed in the second half of the fourteenth century, by the Teutonic Order for the Pomeranian Castellans. The castle is located by the north-eastern part of Nowe. After 1465, the castle housed the residence of the Starosta of the House of Nowskiscy, the castle was largely destroyed by the Swedes during the Deluge. After the First Partition of Poland in 1787, Prussian authorities partially deconstructed the castle, but kept the main wing which was converted into an Evangelical Protestant Church. In the next century the castle was used as a warehouse and fire station. In the 1970s, the castle was renovated, the works finished in the year of 1992. Currently, the castle houses the Castle Centre of Culture (Centrum Kultury "Zamek").

Nowe Castle

The ruins of the castle of the Teutonic Knights on Lake Sztum. It was built in the years 1326-1335 on the set of a polygon with two towers in the place where previously there was a mansion. Until 1410, when it fell into the hands of Polish, was the seat of mayor of the Teutonic Knights. After the Thirteen Years' War, in the years 1468-1772 became the seat of Polish mayors. Destroyed during the Swedish wars in the seventeenth century. Was partially demolished by the Prussian authorities. Survived two wings rebuilt in the nineteenth century, prison tower, gate and perimeter walls.

Castle in Sztum

Fragments of basement walls, towers and ward preserved castle of the Teutonic Knights. Built on the Osa at the turn of the thirteenth and fourteenth century on irregular in the Gothic style. How many Teutonic castles in his squad entered the correct upper castle, with a tower, and the ward. 
He was in a period of wars with the law in the hands of the Polish in 1410, but only temporarily. Captured in 1454 at the beginning of the Thirty Years War. In 1466, he was seated governors. At the end of the eighteenth century. Was demolished by the Prussian authorities to build a fortress in Grudziadz.
