The Château de Pierreclos is a private historic monument located between the Abbey of Cluny and the emblematic national site at Solutré. Set among the vineyards on a rocky spur, a chapel was first built there that became a parish church in 996. The château appears in texts from 1282 when the lord promised his château to the Duke of Burgundy. It is a strong-hold that has gone through wars, the French revolution and was transformed over time into an ornamental château. Le château de Saint-Point, aussi appelé Château de Lamartine, est situé sur la commune de Saint-Point en Saône-et-Loire, à flanc de pente, à proximité de l'église. Son propriétaire le plus illustre fut le poète Alphonse de Lamartine.
Il fait l’objet d’un classement au titre des monuments historiques depuis septembre 1972 (cabinet de travail et salon). Cette protection est complétée le 26 janvier 1989 (par un classement des façades et toitures, salle à manger, grand salon) et par une inscription (des bâtiments annexes) à cette même date.
Description
La construction se compose d'un corps de logis central de plan rectangulaire entre deux gros pavillons carrés en légère avancée sur sa façade ouest. Les fenêtres de la façade est ont été pourvues au xixe siècle de balconnets à appui-corps en fer forgé, aménagés en avant de leurs allèges.
À la même époque, une porte passante, surmontée d'un fronton cintré et précédée d'un escalier, a été percée entre le rez-de-chaussée et le premier étage de la façade ouest.
La façade orientale est précédée d'une vaste cour rectangulaire entourée de communs et fermée par une grille et une porte cochère sans couronnement, donnant sur la route.
Le parc est séparé par un mur du cimetière communal où se trouve le caveau familial dans lequel repose Alphonse de Lamartine.
Le château est une propriété privée. La visite est autorisée.
Historique
Fin du xie siècle : il y a dès cette époque des seigneurs de Saint-Point, mais on ignore la date de construction du château. Selon certains écrits des archives de l'Abbaye de Cluny, il aurait été un des châteaux forts qui protégeait l'Abbaye de ses ennemis. Une légende raconte d'ailleurs qu'un tunnel relierai les deux édifices.
1471 le château est assiégé et pris par les Français
1629 : Claire de Saint-Point, épouse d'Antoine de La Tour Saint-Vidal, institue pour héritier son petit-fils Claude de Rochefort d'Ailly dont la famille porte de gueules, à la bande ondée d’argent, accompagnée de six merlettes du même en orle, couronne de comte, tenants : deux anges en soutane bleue de diacre.
1668 : Jean Baptiste de Rochefort d'Ailly, fils du précédent et d'Anne de Lucinge, devient comte de Saint-Point.
1734 : décès de Jean Amédée de Rochefort d'Ailly, comte de Saint-Point, fils du précédent et de Catherine Brulart de Sillery.
1762 : Anne-Claudine de Rochefort d'Ailly, fille de Claude-Gabriel-Amédée de Rochefort d'Ailly, épouse Charles-Louis Testu de Balincourt, maréchal de camp.
1776 : le précédent vend le château à Esprit-François-Henri de Castellane, marquis de Castellane, qui devient marquis de Saint-Point.
1789 : le 30 juillet 1789 le château est dévasté par les habitants.
1802 : Esprit-Boniface-Henri de Castellane, vicomte de Castellane, fils puîné du précédent et héritier de Saint-Point, endetté, cède le bien à Pierre de Lamartine, ancien capitaine de cavalerie au régiment du Dauphin et chevalier de l'ordre de Saint-Louis.
1820 : le poète Alphonse de Lamartine reçoit le domaine de son père lors de son mariage avec Marianne Birch ; le jeune ménage fait restaurer le château.
De 1852 à 1855 : séduit par le style gothique anglais, Lamartine complète la construction par un donjon, une galerie, des créneaux. Le tout est ceinturé par un grand jardin à l'anglaise.
1869 : à la mort du poète, la propriété passe à sa nièce, Valentine de Cessiat.
1894 : à la mort de Valentine de Lamartine, le 16 mai 1894 le château revient à ses trois nièces : Mlle de Belleroche, Mme Violot et Mlle de Senevier, il leur est racheté, le 19 novembre 1894 par  Pierre-Jean-Charles de Montherot.
Époque moderne : propriété du comte de Noblet d'Anglure, petit-fils du précédent.
2006 : Rachat du château par Mr Mignot, devenu à la suite Maire de la commune. Il en assure l'entretien, la préservation de l'ambiance d'époque et les visites.

Château de Saint-Point

Château de Berzé is located in the town of Berzé-le-Châtel in Saône-et-Loire.Built on a rocky outcrop facing Solutré, overlooking the valley of Little Grosne, the fortress occupied in the Middle Ages a strategic position on the dividing line between the Mâconnais and the Duchy of Burgundy, which earned him to be the scene of many clashes. Castle Berzé is the largest and best preserved castles of Southern Burgundy. Three successive walls, twelve towers of the thirteenth century, plus the eleventh century are still visible. Among them: two dungeons. Some of these towers have walls up to a thickness of 3.60 m at the base. Three courses nobles are located in the lap of the fortified core. Two terraces of the castle are decorated with gardens that have the label "Remarkable Garden" since 2011. The castle is privately owned. Guided tours are offered from June to September, and all year by appointment for groups. The castle and its two speakers is subject to a classification as historical monuments since 10 February 1983.

Château de Berzé

The history of Château de Chasselas dates back to the 14th century with the Lords of Chasselas. Set in the heart of the village of Chasselas, which gave its name to the famous grape variety, the estate currently covers 6 hectares. Visitors enter the estate (listed as a historic monument) by a beautiful drive running through the vineyards, before arriving at a vast interior courtyard. Château de Chasselas

This ivy-covered turreted castle has welcomed guests for over thirty years. Nestled in an old park filled with trees and flowers and surrounded by woods, vineyards, and meadows, you’ll find the château a perfect hideaway from which to explore Burgundy or as a stopping place to or from the south of France.
Guest rooms are located either in the main château or in a separate tower. Each is individually and tastefully decorated. Some suites feature four-poster beds; one has a lounge with a balcony. If you wish privacy, try the Tour du Parc, a split-level suite with a vaulted ceiling located on the grounds in the château’s former chapel. Updated bathrooms are found in each guest room, as well as flat-screen TVs—a nod to the 21st century.
Dinner is served in front of a huge medieval fireplace in a beautiful beamed dining room or in two other smaller and more intimate dining rooms. The highly regarded cuisine is under the direction of chef Olivier Pons. Much of the produce comes from the château’s own gardens and orchards. The first documented history of the Château d’Igé begins with a legal document in 1235, bearing the seal of Louis IX, which relates that the Abbaye de Cluny was trying to prevent Count de Mâcon, lord of Igy, from constructing a fortified manor.
Shortly after the fall of the Bastille during the French Revolution, the château was sacked and pillaged, with some outbuildings destroyed. The lord of the château, the Count of Morangiers, had to abandon the property and hide in the woods. Perhaps the château was especially targeted because the lord had laid claim to a well and had even gone so far as to enclose it. When the revolutionaries ransacked the property, the enclosure around the well was the first to be destroyed.
The château gradually deteriorated until 1972 when Henri Jadot restored and transformed the property into a hotel. In 1990, Françoise Faucon acquired the property, continuing the tradition of a unique castle hotel experience.

This is a lovely place to stay. Guests have been returning here for years, which is a fine testament to the château’s charm and warm welcome. Be aware that some of the rooms are reached up narrow stairs—potential difficulty for someone with mobility problems.

Corcelles, a family domain spanning the centuries
The Richard family took over this prestigious domain in 1984 with the intention of making great wines in a breathtaking location.
Château de Corcelles Estate has a rich history thanks to the legacy of previous generations. The Richard family has proudly continued the tradition and brought a new focus to bear on the quality of the wines.
Here are some key dates of the Corcelles estate:
In the 15th century Antoine de Laye decided to rebuild the Château de Corcelles on the foundations of a much older stronghold, built during the Carolingian period. At that time, the Douby River, which flows a few meters from the Château, was the boundary between the dioceses of Autun and Lyon and the counties of Burgundy and Beaujolais. Today, the river marks the border between the administrative departments of Saône et Loire and Rhône.
In the 16th century, the Château became the property of the Ragny de La Magdeleine family. The family played a key role, especially by incorporating the French Renaissance style that characterizes the inner courtyard of the Château.
At the end of the 16th century, and for the next four hundred years, the Château was owned by the Tircuy de La Barre family. Gradually, the name of La Barre was replaced by Corcelles.
In the 1960s and 1970s, the Chateau underwent a complete roof restoration in order to hold a private banquet.
The Château has been listed as a National Heritage since 4 February 1927.

Château de Corcelles-en-Beaujolais

Already regarded as "noble men" in 1022, the du Blé became lords of Cormatin in the early thirteenth century.
At the end of the sixteenth century, the wars of religion allowed Antoine du Blé to increase his influence and wealth. He became master of southern Burgundy in the name of the Catholic League before "turning coat" and bringing the right bank of the Saone under the authority of Henri IV, in opposition to the Spanish Franche-Comte.
In return, he became lieutenant general and governor of Chalon sur Saone, then a strategic stronghold.
His son Jacques was received at the Court of France. From 1610 he was an intimate of the Queen Regent Marie de Medici.
In 1617, at age 35, he married Claude (aged 13), daughter of Raymond Phélypeaux, Treasurer of the Savings, Secretary of State, one of the most influential men of the moment.
In 1618, Jacques du Blé received one of the first titles of Marquis created by the young Louis XIII. In 1628 he was made responsible for conquering the marquisate of Monferrato in Italy. Without money, food or ammunition, his troops were "defeated as snow would be melted by fire" (Richelieu).
Humiliated, he tried to regain his honor by a brilliant action. During the siege of Privas, before the king, he launched a daring attack during which he was killed (May 14, 1629). His soldiers avenged his death by a massacre during the capture of the city.
Subsequent generations resided very little in Burgundy. But Nicolas du Blé, Marshal of France, governor of Alsace and a member of the Council of Regency on the death of Louis XIV in 1722 was exiled there for his opposition to the alliance with England.
His nephew and heir, Henri-Camille de Béringhen, First Equerry to King Louis XV, then left all the marquisate of Huxelles to his natural daughter, Sophie Verne.
Burgundian wine saves the chateau!
With her, the chateau came back to life in the summer. Her husband, Pierre Dezoteux, aide-de-camp to Rochambeau during the American Revolutionary War, established many specimen trees in the gardens (tulip trees, swamp cypresses).
During the "Great Fear" in 1789, he managed to calm the rioters, who aimed to burn the castle, by rolling out all the barrels from the wine cellars for them ...
During the Revolution he became head of the Chouans of Brittany, while his wife, remaining in Cormatin with her six children, was not troubled. The chateau came through the storm unscathed. However, in 1815, some dodgy alterations caused the collapse of the south wing.
The romances of the poet
In 1812, Lamartine seduced the daughter of the owners, Nina Dezoteux, wife of the Count of Pierreclau and a son was born of this dalliance. The poet often returned to the château after 1843, when one of his relatives, Henri de Lacretelle, inherited it. He wrote a significant part of "The History of the Girondins" there, thanks to the family archives. In 1847, he met his political friends in Cormatin to write his republican and socialist programme. Printed in Macon, this text excited interest throughout Europe at the time of the 1848 revolutions.
To preserve the memory of the event, a statue representing the Second French Republic was erected in the courtyard in 1849. It has survived but ... decapitated.
On July 14 1888, Jacques de Lacretelle was born at the chateau: he was one of the great French writers of the twentieth century (Silbermann). In his series of novels "Les Hauts-Ponts", he was inspired by the tragedy for his family from the loss of the estate, sold in 1898 to Raoul Gunsbourg.
Under this Director of the Monte-Carlo Opera, Cormatin became a summer retreat for the world of entertainment and politics. Each year, the "Musical Concours of Cormatin", chaired by the composer Jules Massenet, heard an operetta or an opera before the facades of the chateau. The performers were prestigious: Caruso, Chaliapine, Litvine, Tamagno, etc.
After this brilliant period, more than 50 years of neglect lead Cormatin to the brink of ruin. In September 1980, Anne-Marie Joly, Marc Simonet-Lenglart, and Pierre-Albert Almendros acquired this "masterpiece in peril". Since then they have been dedicated to its restoration and development, with the support of the 60,000 people who visit the chateau each year.
From 1982 to 1995, the restoration of the chateau also received financial aid from the Ministry of Culture and the Conseil Général of Saône et Loire for the restoration of facades, the re-excavation of the moat and the renovation of the seventeenth century painted decor.
