Château de Jambville is a French castle located in the town of Jambville in the Yvelines department, 50 km northwest of Paris. The castle was built between the 15th century and the 18th century on the foundations of a medieval castle. The lordship was granted to the steward Antoine Le Camus de Jambville in 1650. It passed in 1769 to the Marquis Charles-Claude-François du Tillet, colonel in the Royal Regiment, and to the stewardship of Étienne Thomas de Maussion in 1775. It was sold as national property in 1793. Baron Antoine Adolphe Thomas Maussion became the owner in 1816. in 1904, it was acquired by Paul Fould (1837-1917), master of requests to the Council of State. It has hosted the National Scout Training Centre of the Scouts et Guides de France since 1952.

Château de Maudétour

Le château de Dampont, dit aussi château du Héron est situé à Us dans le Val-d’Oise en France. C’est un château de la fin du xixe siècle. Il bénéficie d’une protection au titre des monuments historiques : inscription par arrêté du 24 octobre 2002.
Situation
Le château est situé route de Marines à Us dans le Val d’Oise au cœur du Parc naturel régional du Vexin français. À l'emplacement de l'ancien manoir de Dampont. L’étang est alimenté par la Viosne qui traverse le parc.
Historique
Le château est créé sous l’impulsion de Charles Guy de Kersaint au milieu du xixe siècle. Il hérite des terres de Dampont par sa femme Laure de Tremblay de Saint-Yon. La construction dure de 1852 à 1872. En 1908 Jacques Potin achète le château à Raoul de kersaint.
En 1911 Jacques potin confie la création du parc à Edouard Redont : le parc domine le cours de la Viosne et abrite quelques fabriques : une fausse ruine de chapelle, un temple de l'Amour rond avec six colonnes corinthiennes, il crée un étang, plante de nombreux arbres rares, fait construire un embarcadère, des ponts et une roseraie.
Description
Ce château de style éclectique principalement néo-Renaissance mais aussi néo-gothique est attribué à l'architecte Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. L'édifice en pierre de taille s'articule autour d'une grosse tour rectangulaire de quatre niveaux, flanquée à une certaine distance par deux tours carrées plus petites de trois niveaux, disposées à un angle de 20° par rapport à la tour rectangulaire, et communiquant avec cette dernière par des éléments d'un seul étage, en léger retrait. Les angles des trois tours sont pourvus d'échauguettes en encorbellement, et les lucarnes devant les hauts combles à la française de frontons triangulaires aigus, garnie d'une riche ornementation sculptée. Les échauguettes de la tour centrale vont sur deux niveaux, et un balcon court devant l'étage supérieur. La façade côté jardin comporte en outre un double escalier desservant un étroit balcon devant la vaste baie du premier étage.

Le château de Romainville est un château français du xixe siècle situé dans la commune d’Ecquevilly dans le département des Yvelines et la région Île-de-France.
Histoire
L’origine de la propriété remonte au XVIe siècle.
À la suite d'une confiscation comme bien national, elle fut vendue et différents propriétaires se succédèrent, chacun l’améliorant et l’agrandissant.
Aimé-Philippe Roman (1798), Marie-Gabriel Perrier (1802) puis Jean Charles Joachim Davillier, régent de la Banque de France (1804) et enfin Henry Deutsch de la Meurthe, industriel et mécène en 1893 furent propriétaires du domaine.
Le château de Romainville et ses nombreuses dépendances constituent un ensemble architectural représentatif, de style anglo-normand, fait de pierres meulières, de colombages et de briques.
Depuis 2001, le château de Romainville est réservé à l’accueil de séminaires d'entreprises.

The Domaine of Villarceaux is a French château, water garden and park located in the commune of Chaussy in the Val d'Oise Department of France, 65 kilometers northwest of Paris.
The Domaine is currently managed by the Regional Council of the 'Île-de-France for 99 years, on an agreement with the owners of the domaine, the Fondation Charles Leopold Mayer. The park contains a manor house from the 16th century and a château in the style of Louis XV from the 18th century. The gardens are classified among the Notable Gardens of France.
The gardens contain a rare 18th-century ornamental feature called a vertugadin (eng: farthingale), modelled after the hoop skirts of the 18th century, surrounded by statues brought from Italy.
History
The gardens are located on the site of a medieval castle from the 11th century, built to protect France from the British, who at that time occupied Normandy, the neighboring province. Many vestiges of the medieval fortifications remain in the park. A manor house and French water garden was built there in the 17th century. In the 18th century a château in the style of Louis XV was built on a rocky hill overlooking the water garden.
One famous resident in the 17th century was Ninon de Lenclos, the author, courtesan, and patron of the arts. Another was Françoise d'Aubigné, the future Madame de Maintenon and future wife of King Louis XIV, who lived there after the death of her first husband, the poet Paul Scarron, at the invitation of her friends the Montchevreuil, cousins of the Marquis of Villarceaux. The Marquis fell in love with her, and commissioned a full-length portrait of her, nude, which greatly embarrassed her. The portrait can be seen today in the dining room of the house. The house also contains a collection of 18th-century furniture.
The domaine has been classified as an historic monument of France since 1941. It is part of the regional park of Vexin, and is used for concerts and cultural events.

Château de Villarceaux

The Château d'Ambleville is a French Renaissance style château located within the regional park of Vexin, in the Val d'Oise Department of France. The chateau is classified as a monument historique of France.
The gardens are classified among the Notable Gardens of France by the Ministry of Culture of France.
History
The château was built in the 16th century for the seigneurs of Ambleville and Villarceaux by architect Jean Grappin, on the foundations of a medieval castle on the banks of the Aubette. In the 17th century, the house was acquired by the Duke of Villeroy, Nicolas V, the Ambassador of France to Medicis. He created a garden in the Florentine style. The house was purchased in 1893 by Charles Sedelmeyer (1837–1925), who restored the chateau and added a theater and Venetian chimneys and balconies. In 1928 the new owner, the Marquise de Villefranche, remade the gardens after those of the recently restored gardens of the Villa Gamberaia in Florence. Today they offer one of the best examples of an Italian Renaissance garden in France.

Château d'Ambleville

The present Château de La Roche-Guyon was built in the 12th century, controlling a river crossing of the Seine, itself one of the routes to and from Normandy; The Abbé Suger described its grim aspect: "At the summit of a steep promontory, dominating the bank of the great river Seine, rises a frightful castle without title to nobility, called La Roche. Invisible on the surface, it is hollowed out of a high cliff. The able hand of the builder has established in the mountainside, digging into the rock, an ample dwelling provided with a few miserable openings". In the mid-13th century, a fortified manor house (the château-bas) was added below. Guy de La Roche fell at the Battle of Agincourt, and his widow was ousted from the Roche, after six months of siege, in 1419; she preferred to depart rather than accept Henry Plantagenet as her overlord. It came to the Liancourt family with the marriage of Roger de Plessis-Liancourt to the heiress Marie de La Roche; he was a childhood companion of Louis XIII, first gentleman of the Chambre du Roi, and was made a duke in 1643. He and his wife made great changes to the château-bas, opening windows in its structure and laying out the terrace to the east, partly cut into the mountain's steep slope.
The domain of La Roche-Guyon came to the La Rochefoucauld family in 1669, with the marriage of Jeanne-Charlotte de Plessis-Liancourt with François VII de La Rochefoucauld. The Château retained its medieval aspect of a fortress, with its moat and towers and cramped, dark living apartments. The Château was largely extended in the 18th century.
When Turgot, the minister of Louis XVI, failed in his schemes for fundamental reforms in 1776, he retired to the Château briefly, as the guest of Louise Elisabeth Nicole de La Rochefoucauld, Duchesse d'Enville.
La Roche Guyon was the birthplace of François Alexandre Frédéric, duc de la Rochefoucauld-Liancourt (1747–1827).
The castle was used as a setting for the medieval segment of a famous Franco-Belgian graphic novel on time travel: Le Piège diabolique (The Diabolical Trap) of the Blake and Mortimer series by Edgar Pierre Jacobs.
After D-Day, German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel (1891–1944) defended Normandy against the Allies in World War II from a bunker located here. The castle also was Rommel's headquarters.
Restorations and archaeological surveys undertaken after 1990 by the Conservatoire régional des Monuments historiques revealed new additions to the documentary history of La Roche-Guyon, undertaken in the 19th century by Hippolyte Alexandre and Emile Rousse.
At the beginning of 1960, French technocrats had the idea for a new administrative capital, to replace Paris as capital with a French "Brasilia" built near La Roche-Guyon and to transform the commune into a "Monaco on the Seine". At the beginning of 1960 there was an architectural design competition for the Project, in which the architects Albert Laprade and Jean Brasilier participated.
The castle is now open to the public.

Château du Haut Rosay is a French castle of the seventeenth century which is located in Mantes Rosay, in the present department of Yvelines and the region Île-de-France. The castle and its park, with common, outbuildings, mills, ditches, terraces and surrounding walls, and water projects (ie. B 189-198), based on an earlier measure of inscription on the additional inventory ( decree of 1 June 1989) are the subject of a classification as historical monuments since 19 February 1992. The castle is located in a site registered by order of 18 January 1946.

Château du Haut-Rosay

Le château de Neuville-Bosc est un château français des xviiie et xixe siècles, situé sur la commune de Neuville-Bosc dans le département de l’Oise et la région Hauts-de-France.
Histoire
Château des xviiie et xixe siècles, construit en 1750 par l’abbé Largillière, augmenté en 1849 par Monsieur Antoine Havard, industriel et amoureux du Vexin et de l’endroit.
Il y construit la ferme en 1800, l’école, la maison du métayer aujourd’hui la Maison des Jardins, la grange devant le château. Transformée en 1993 par l'architecte Richard Gallois, il abrite aujourd’hui la mairie.
Neuville-Bosc ainsi que la forêt qui l’entoure est un lieu classé et inscrit à l’Inventaire supplémentaire des monuments historiques. Sarah Bernhardt y avait sa maison, un lieu privilégié, plus loin dans la forêt…
En 1996, le château de Neuville-Bosc est exclusivement dédié à l’accueil de séminaires d’entreprises.

Château d'Hénonville

Château d’Auvers-sur-Oise was built around 1635 by Zanobi Lioni, a rich Italian financier associated with Marie de Medici. Surrounded by woods, the building possessed a terraced roof in Italian style, harmonious gardens arranged in a series of terraces, ponds and fountains, two orangeries to the north and south as well as a belvedere overlooking the village and the valley of the Oise.
In 1662 the chateau was sold to Jean de Léry (or Leyrit), an adviser and personal servant to the King, Chief Treasurer of France and general of finances. He converted the Italian castel into a French chateau.
The estate, established as a fiefdom, was made up of a large house, several other buildings, a courtyard, a farmyard, a low garden connected by a bridge and some outbuildings. The new owner also obtained hunting rights on the estate of the Lord of Auvers as well as “sitting rights” (droit de banc) in the chancel of the church of Auvers. Jean de Léry was later buried in the chancel in 1692.
In May 1720 the chateau became the property of the Espréménil family. Shortly afterwards, around 1756, the building was completely remodelled. The north side was kept in Louis XIII style but the south side was rebuilt and the whole building flanked by two pavilions.
In 1765 after the death of its owner the chateau was sold back to the Prince of Conti. He only lived at Auvers on occasion for hunting. A short distance to the north of the entrance you can still see the nymphaeum built at that time, an artificial domed grotto covered in shells which bears the Conti crest.
The chateau changed owners again in 1779 to Mr Louis Claude Chéron de la Bruyère, a deputy in the legislative assembly. Imprisoned during the French Revolution, he was released and became Mayor of Auvers and then Prefect of Vienne in 1805. His son Henri born in 1825 remained at Auvers until the end of his life and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the Château. During his tenure, the Council decided that the bridge and staircase of the chateau should be exempt from the rules of alignment since they were part of the historic estate of the Prince of Conti, a “historic monument and decorative architectural feature of the district”. Alphonse Chéron, the third in the line, sold the chateau to the Gosselin family in 1882, who retained it until 1939.
Purchased in 1987 by the Conseil général du Val-d’Oise, Château d’Auvers was fully restored. From 1994 to 2016 the chateau housed the multimedia experience “A Journey through the time of the Impressionists” which celebrated the painters who had such an impact on the valley of the Oise.
