In the Middle Ages, Villarejo was Encomienda Mayor de Castilla, of the Military Order of Santiago, and its relevance as head of territory at that time, attest to the castle and the House of the Tercia. In the world of confectionery, the "rosquillas de la Tia Javiera" are infamous and the true culinary heritage of the municipality. Tia Javiera was the neighbour of Villarejo who made famous the now-called "rosquillas de Santa Clara", which are eaten along with the "tontas", "listas" and the "francesas" during the San Isidro festivities.

Fuentidueña  de Tajo Castle is a large, irregular building standing on a hill which dominates the Town and the Tagus River. It is believed to have been built during the 12th century and has been extended and rebuilt later on in the 14th century. It is related to the Kings, Alfonso VI and Alfonso VIII.
It still has a wall and part of the cylindrical towers on the sides. The two sections composing it are separated by an interior moat. It is still possible to see the Homage Tower opposite the Town.This castle was the Headquarters of the Kingdom in the time of Da Urraca, wife of Alfonso I the Warrior; legend has it that at night she used to walk through the hidden corridors to visit the Moors.
The provincial Governor, Pedro Manrique, was imprisoned in this Castle by order of Juan II. Álvaro de Luna, Marquis of Villena, was also made prisoner for his discrepancies with the Order of Santiago; he later became the proprietor of the Castle.

Fuentidueña  de Tajo Castle

Chinchón Castle, locally known as Castillo de Chinchón or Castillo de los Condes, lies on a hill next to the town of Chinchón, in the province of Madrid in Spain.
The present castle was preceded by an earlier castle built at the end of the 15th century which was destroyed by commoners in 1521 after a long siege. Chinchón Castle was built on the ruins of this earlier castle, in the late 16th century by the third Earl of Chinchón, Don Diego Fernandez de Cabrera, one of the most powerful men of his time.
Chinchón Castle was built as a Renaissance castle with broad rectangular windows as aspects of a palatial building. Its thick walls with sloping foundations and its moat covered by a drawbridge, made that it still looked like a fortress.
At the beginning of the 18th century, during the War of Spanish Succession, the castle was looted and abandoned. One century later it was burned by a Polish brigade fighting for the French during the War of Independence.
In the last part of the last century, Chinchón Castle was home to a famous bodega. At present the castle stands empty, awaiting repairs and a fitting form of use. It can not be visited.

El castillo de Casasola es una fortificación en ruinas del municipio español de Chinchón.
Descripción
El castillo se encuentra dentro del término municipal madrileño de Chinchón, próximo al curso del río Tajuña. Data del siglo xv.
Las ruinas habrían quedado protegidas de forma genérica el 22 de abril de 1949, mediante un decreto publicado el 5 de mayo de ese mismo año en el Boletín Oficial del Estado con la rúbrica del dictador Francisco Franco y del ministro de Educación Nacional José Ibáñez Martín, que sostenía que «Todos los castillos de España, cualquiera que sea su estado de ruina, quedan bajo la protección del Estado».​ En la actualidad contaría con el estatus de Bien de Interés Cultural.

Its big tower witnessed important battles between Muslims and Christians, given that the former Roman settlement of Aurelia - Oreja - was essential to blocking access to the city of Toledo and to the Taifa kingdom of Cuenca.
HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION
In addition to its big rectangular tower, we can see the remains of the wall, stretching all along the top of the hill where it lays. We also find the remains of a church and of a water tank. The remains of the wooden machicolations are interesting. Adjacent to the castle we can see the remains of the settlement of Oreja, now gone.
The castle was used as a base for the Almoravid troops in the bloody defeat at the Battle of Uclés, where the heir of Alfonso VI died and most of the Christian army perished. In 1139, thirty-one years later, Alfonso VII would conquer it, providing its Christian population with a regional code of laws of great historical interest. The Order of Santiago defended it against Almohads, but once the border moved to the South, Oreja inhabitants abandoned their small town to settle in the neighboring villages.

FUN FACTS
We can find nearby the Mar de Ontígola, a reservoir created to irrigate the gardens of Aranjuez. Visitors to the castle can make it out from its highest point.
