The castle of Trevejo is in the village of Trevejo, a hamlet belonging to Villamiel, in the Sierra de Gata region. Its origins go back to the 12th century, when the Muslim fortress was built that was later used as a base for its construction by the Order of the Temple. Throughout its history it also belonged to the Order of Santiago and the Order of Alcántara, and it was destroyed during the French invasion. The keep and part of its wall are two of the remains of this fortress that have survived the passage of the centuries. At its feet are a series of stone anthropomorphic tombs.

A los pies del castillo se encuentran una serie de tumbas antropomórficas de piedra en las que al parecer se enterró a algunos de los monjes guerreros que inicialmente fueron propietarios del castillo.
