This is a chateau, which, in many aspects, kept its original appearance of a Gothic fortress built in 13th century.  In 1717 it was reconstructed in Baroque style.  There are arcades on the eastern side of the groundfloor, on the southern side there is a gallery on cantilevers.  On the walls there are remains of sgraffiti, and above the arch there is a wall painting of Holy Trinity made by M. Resche jr. from  1718. It is currently being extensively reconstructed.  Organization of exhibitions, a museum of traditional crafts and a monument of the family of Edvard Beneš are being considered to take place there in the furure.

The existence of an original fortress on the site of today's château is assumed from sometime around the middle of the 14th century. It was built on a rocky granite outcrop, which, after the damming of a stream and the filling up of a fishpond, became an island. The first written source is an entry into the land records from 1465, mentioning the division of the property of deceased Ctibor of Zásmuk between his two sons Petr and Václav. The fortress then might have been sold into the ownership of Diviš Boubínský of Újezd, who sold it to the knightly family of Káb of Rybňan sometime around 1530. The family had the original Gothic castle rebuilt and the basic Renaissance remodelling carried out between 1542-1555, and the château acquired the name Nová Lhota.In 1597, the château was sold to Vilém Růt of Dírná who had the building rendered with red plaster, from which it got its name Červená Lhota. The last of the Ruts, Bohuslav, had to leave the Bohemian lands as an Utraquist after the Battle of White Mountain.
In 1621, Červená Lhota was inhabited by Antonio Bruccio, who died in 1639 without an heir. With his death, Lhota lost its function as a residence and it was used by his successors as occasional cottage. In 1641, it was acquired by aristocrat Vilém Slavat of Chlum and Košumberk and later it passed into the hands of the Windischgrätz family. Bedřich Arnošt Windischgrätz and his son Leopold dragged the dominion into great debts due to their out-dated style of economics, so the custodian of his under-aged successor Josef recommended the sale of the dominion. In 1755 the château then was obtained by the free lords of Gudenus. Franz de Paul, free lord of Gudenus, shortly afterwards initiated several constructions, which were brought to an abrupt halt in 1774 by a great fire, which destroyed essentially all agricultural buildings.
In 1776, Červená Lhota welcomed a new owner, Baron Ignác Stillfried, a progressive aristocrat of Prussian Silesia whose son sold the dominion to Jakub Veith in 1820. His daughter Terezie sold the château again in 1835, this time into the princely hands of Heinrich Eduard Schönburg-Hartenstein who gave the castle to his son Josef Alexandr Schönburg-Hartenstein. He died in 1937 and was buried into the newly built tomb, and thus spared the destructive events of the new war, which drew the curtains closed for the entire aristocratic history of Červená Lhota château.
After the confiscation of the château by the Czechoslovak state in 1946, a children's clinic was established here. However, a year later, the château was granted to a National Culture Commission, and in 1949 it was opened to the public.

Červená Lhota Castle

When the eldest owner Ješek from Brandlín died, Brandýs castle was still originally a manor with a fort. The next important owners were Olbramové Brandlínští from Štěkř who rebuilt the fort to the Renaissance style in early 16th century. Another ownrs were for examples Hozlauerové z Hozlau and Černínové z Chudenic. Later the fort was rebuilt again to the castle in Baroque style. In 18th century Brandlín castle belonged to Zlatá Koruna monastery, family of barons Nádherných and Baroque adjustments were on the order of the day. Last adjustments are known from years 1934 and 1958 of the 20th century.
In the lower part of the Castle is situated The Castle Pub, where you can sit-down in a pleasant enviroment with a great view on beautiful arches and escutcheons of all previous owners.
On the first floor is arising new exposition of the knight´s hall. Here you can find historical artefacts and their replicas, including old castle clocks.
Outdoor you can see well-preserved Renaissance frescoes and we recommend remarkable soulution of the east facade too.
Brandlín Castle lies in South Bohemia Region in the middle of Brandlín village which is located about 8 km north-east of Soběslav and 8 km north-west of Planá nad Lužnicí. Same far is Červená Lhota Castle and is also possible to visit well-known castle ruins of Choustník which are only 5 km away and Kozí Hrádek Castle is in the distance of 10 km from Brandlín Castle.

Tučapy (Brandlín Chateau)

The palace in Jindřichův Hradec is one of the most well-known and largest complexes of buildings. It has undergone complicated constructional development. The original name of today’s Jindřichův Hradec, “Nova domus” in Latin and “Neuhaus” in German, suggests that the castle had a predecessor. Systematic archaeological research enabled the beginning of the local settlement to be explained. Its results led to the conclusion that a fortified Slavic settlement existed here already in the 10th century, which undoubtedly played its role in the Přemyslovec dynasty’s castle administration. Remains of a bulwark were found in front of the court facade of Adam II’s palace. Until the discovery of these facts, the date of the settlement’s establishment had been determined as the end of the 12th century. Further evidence proving the antiquity of this settlement are the findings in the Church of St. John the Baptist, where a large Romanesque church used to stand at the end of the 12th century. This moved the foundation of the oldest stone buildings in Jindřichův Hradec back to the time before the arrival of the Vítkovec family. Another fact testifying to the royal ownership of the castle is that king Přemysl Otakar II took the castle as a former royal manor from Oldřich I for a short time in 1277. A year later, Oldřich returned to Hradec. We can presume that the stone castle, which is one of the oldest royal castles with encircling buildings, was established by the king and taken over in the middle of its construction and finished by the Vítkovec family. The name of the first local Vítkovec, Jindřich, was later used to name the castle and the town.

Jindřichův Hradec Castle

This mighty castle was founded in the mid-13th century and only ruins of walls and two towers have remained of it. The ruins boast an unusual layout (it is a rare example of a double castle). The castle was owned by the Rožmberks from 1355 till 1597 when Petr Vok sold it; in 1614 the castle was abandoned. The core of the castle is situated on a steep rock; visitors who climb up the stairs in one of the towers are rewarded with a beautiful view from a height of 18 metres; weather permitting one can see as far as the Šumava Mountains or the Brdy Hills.

Choustník Castle

Original stud farm was built by count Jan Petr Slavata in 1673.  After extinction of the Slavata family by the sword, the Hradec domain was acquired by Heřman Jakub Černín in 1691, and the stud farm was acquired with it.  In the following years, the Černín family built up the hunting chateau, whose construction started in 1747.  Directly in the chateau, there was built a new chapel devoted to St. John of Nepomuk. The chapel is 19 m high and its fresco decoration represents the most valuable part of the chateau. In 1772, two statues of St.  Sebastian and St. Thecla by the driveway were made. These statues were created as a waiver of respect, because Jemčina was not affected by a horse plague. The chateau got completely new look after 1790, when Count Rudolf Jan Černín decided to organise hunts in Jemčina.  Regarding this purpose it was necessary to adapt the chateau and its surroundings having an area of 50 km2. Extensive costs were necessary specifically because of preparation of the woods around the chateau for fox hunting. Nobility from all corners of the Habsburg Monarchy was gathering in Jemčina especially during autumnal months.

Jemčina Chateau

Kamenice nad Lipou lies in the northwestern region of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, some twenty kilometres north of Jindřichův Hradec, in Pelhřimov District.
The chateau acquired its present Neo-classical appearance in the early 19th century.
In 1580–1583, the original 13th-century castle was converted into a Renaissance mansion graced by a courtyard with arcades and a garden. The Baroque entrance tower was built in 1744. The chateau is surrounded by an English landscape garden featuring a linden tree estimated to be 700–800 years old. Kamenice nad Lipou derives its name from the tree. In 1998, the chateau came under the management of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague (UPM). Following extensive restoration work carried out between 1998 and 2004, permanent collections were installed on the ground floor of the Renaissance north wing, where the Museum also holds short-term exhibitions. The south wing of the chateau houses exhibition installations administered by the Municipal Museum, and the Ceremonial Hall. The cellars with their Gothic Hall are also open to visitors.

Kamenice nad Lipou Chateau

Medieval fortress mentioned the year 1363 in connection with the death of noblemen Mikoláš z Radenína, rebuilt in the early 17th century into a Renaissance castle and extended with a new wing. Later rebuiled into Empire chateau, last time changed the look in 1845, when rebuiled in Neo- Renaissance style.

Černovice Chateau

Chateau Stráž nad Nežárkou is a Baroque feudal residence, which was developed after major reconstruction of former Gothic castle.  The chateau is surrounded by a large park in the valley of river Nežárka.  From the original castle, there can be found only a Gothic tower with an edge in the main facade.  The chateau is known, in the first place, in connection with the name of world famous opera singer Ema Destinnová, who carried out minor adjustments in the chateau and who mainly took advantage of its position by the New River, so she would satisfy her great passion for fishing.  Closer insight into her personality is possible in a museum in Jindřichův Hradec.

Stráž nad Nežárkou Chateau

An early Gothic castle, expanded in the late Gothic era and rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau, with subsequent Baroque adaptations. Its interiors and former chapel boast a set of late-Gothic frescoes. The chateau houses the collections of the municipal museum and gallery. Newly accessible is also the chateau tower, offering a view of the town and its surroundings. 
Permanent exhibition: button-making and use of mother-ofpearl, historical sewing machines, the Jan Havlík Gallery. 
Exhibition of Rural Traditions and Crafts The chateau grange – a silo – was built in the early 18th century. It has undergone a number of building adaptations, but its purpose did not change for a great, long time, although the storage of grain was replaced by the storage of various unneeded items until its 2007 renovation. The original Baroque have today house an exhibition of rural traditions and crafts. 
One wing of the chateau is devoted to contemporary modern art. Four halls house an exhibition of fi ne art: oils by the academic painter Jan Havlík; objects made of soft linden tree wood, by the academic sculptor Karel Hlava; prints and paintings by Pavel Roučka; and book illustrations by the academic painter František Severa.
