The renaissance residence of Premonstratensian abbots was rebuilt into a Mannerism chateau on the basis of the plans by Giovanni Pietro Tencalla at the end of the 17th century. When the chateau was owned by Baron Moritz Königswarter, it was radically reconstructed in pseudo-renaissance style. The main one-storey building is surrounded by its wings that create almost a square courtyard with storey colonnades. The chateau has been preserved in this condition. There is a park near the chateau that was changed into a natural landscape park with two lakes at the end of the 19th century. There are romantic structures on the hillside - an artificial waterfall with a cave, a Tyrolean pavilion. The chateau is occupied by the Social Care Institute which uses the main building and the park. The chateau is therefore not accessible to public.

The city's baroque castle dates to 1757. It belonged to the Salm family, and passed to the Herbersteins in the late 18th century. The Herbersteins added the castle's neobaroque tower. The castle passed to municipal control after 1945, and it was damaged by a fire that destroyed one block in 1978. The castle now serves as the town museum, with a memorial hall devoted to academic sculptor Carl Otáhal who lived in Velké Opatovice for 30 years. In 2007, the burnt part of the building was replaced with an elliptical auditorium. The castles grounds include beautiful parkland containing plant and animal species and a statue of Bedřich Smetana.

Velké Opatovice Castle

The small Renaissance chateau was built as a fortress in 1599 by Prokop and Jetřich Podstatský of Prusínovice. The current appearance of the building dates to reconstructions at the end of the 18th century.

Jevíčko Chateau

The first mention of the existence of Letovice Chateau dates back to 1360 when it was a stronghold. In 1424, the stronghold was conquered and destroyed by the Hussites. It was restored in the second half of the 15th century. Reconstruction in the Late Gothic style is evident from the several cellar rooms with a simple portal. In the second half of the 16th century, adjustments were made to the chateau’s interior and its fortifications, mainly on the north side. The stronghold was captured by the Swedes in 1645. At the end of the 17th century, the core of the residence was rebuilt into an Early Baroque chateau by Stephen Szelepcsenyi. In 1724, the chateau and the town burned down. The adjustments continued after the fire, especially in the chateau’s interiors and through the construction of the farm and office buildings east of the chateau. The Letovice manor would later pass through 11 families, the last of which was the Hungarian Kálnoky family, who resumed construction activities. The construction of the stables, summer and winter riding school with arcades on the terrace and modifications to the medieval tower give the chateau its current appearance. Since 2002, the chateau has been in privately-owned, and is undergoing extensive renovations. In 2008, it was first opened to the public. Apart from the main building and the basement, the riding school, a brewery and a chateau park can be seen in the chateau. There is a stylish restaurant in the former stables.

Letovice Chateau

The original Renaissance fortress from 1513 underwent Renaissance reconstruction shortly thereafter in 1541. In the 18th century the Libštein family from Kolovraty rebuilt the fortress into a Baroque chateau. Starting in 1879 the building was owned by Prince Lamoral Thurn Taxis, whose son was murdered in Biskupice in 1945.

Biskupice Chateau

Construction of the castle began after 1352. In 1361, Moravian Margrave Jan received the unfinished castle and after completion he eneamed it after the building method Plankenberg (in translation "Beam mountain" Planke mean lath or beam). The castle is situated on a hill surrounded by two streams that run below the castle and flow into the brook Nectava. In 1422 the castle was probably seized and burned by the Crusaders. Today you can see ramparts, parts of walls and you can still recognise the castle well today.

Plankenberk Castle

The western wing of the building with its square-shaped courtyard houses the most precious part of the Konice Chateau - the dining hall of the brethren. Its ceiling is decorated by a large fresco "The Dining of the Holy Family", painted by Johann Georg Etgens in 1725-33.
Nowadays the chateau serves for the representative purposes of the city of Konice and its premises serve as a venue for exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events. The ground floor houses a permanent exhibit of local customs and trades with numerous rare items showing separate trades such as smithcraft, millery, tailoring, brewery, etc.

Konice Chateau

One of the oldest Moravian castles, it was gradually rebuilt as a Renaissance-Baroque chateau. The interior, furnished with original furniture, introduces visitors to the lives of the last aristocratic owners. This valuable complex of chateau buildings is surrounded by a park built in the 17th century and expanded to the whole chateau hillock in the following century. The chateau park also features a unique dog cemetery.

Kunštát Chateau

The original fortress from the 14th century was rebuilt into a renaissance chateau in the 16th century. The chateau was later expanded by a chapel. There was a fire in 1852 and the owners of the chateau, Des Fours-Walderode, had it rebuilt to a residence of the estate administration and they had a new pseudo-classicist chateau built nearby. They founded a park with two lakes around the chateau. At present, the chateau is modernized and there is a child sanatorium there.

Křetín Chateau

This Rococo-Classicist chateau fascinates visitors mostly because of its unique architecture, which is quite exceptional in Moravia, and by the richly-furnished interiors of the princes from the Salm family.
Among the rich collections is a vast collection of oriental china and the famous castle library with 60,000 volumes. The tradition of chateau gardening is demonstrated by the large English park and annual topical exhibitions of flowers in the chateau’s historical halls.
Night castle tours are a new tradition. Visitors can choose from among four chateau tours: a short tour lasting 40 minutes (ground floor or the first floor), a long tour lasting 80 minutes or just the chateau chapel with an exhibition area.
In a freely accessible castle complex includes a restaurant U Kata and Gallery Kruh, where sales take place exhibitions by leading artists. The chateau park is open daily from 06:00 to 20:00 and is also freely accessible.

Rájec nad Svitavou Chateau

 First establishment in this locality is mentioned around the year 1480. It is a stronghold built by Lords of Kunstat. It is not clear if that stronghold stood at the same place like the chateau today. Divis Cerncicky of Kacov had built a renaissance water stronghold on a place of today castle in the middle of 16th century. The family Cerncicky of Kacov took possession of Lysice in 1529. As reminder of the stronghold stands western wing of the castle and a water moat that you have crossed when you entered the place. Next constructional changes, still in renaissance can be dated to the beginning of 17th century. At that time lineage Breznicky from Nachod owned the mansion. The water stronghold was rebuilt into renaissance chateau with arcades placed in the inner courtyard.  Following constructional adaptation comes from 1730. From that time we have beautiful exterior baroque facades of southern and eastern wing.  Antonin Amatus Serenyi had initiate that change. Facades possibly designed well known architect Moric Grimm from Brno. Last building changes in 1807 were accomplished by Emanuel Dubsky from Trebomyslice. Architectural changes were executed by master mason Frantisek Vasicek and his son Kajetan. We think that these two builders created the colonnade with covered pergola, so typical for the castle’s garden. The colonnade replaced in 1807 renaissance gallery. Most of the castle interiors originated in 19th century in historical style. In such appearance you will see the exibition. Family Dubsky lived here until the castles nationalization in 1945. After the World War the II. the chateau was open to the public. A big reconstruction went on in 1966-1972 by KSSPPOP in Brno. Author of the project was PhDr. Jiri Paukert. New tours were open in 1999. Since 2002 the chateau is National Cultural Monument.
