Prague Castle is a castle complex in Prague, Czech Republic, dating from the 9th century. It is the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it.
According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world, occupying an area of almost 70,000 square metres (750,000 square feet), at about 570 metres (1,870 feet) in length and an average of about 130 metres (430 feet) wide. The castle is among the most visited tourist attractions in Prague attracting over 1.8 million visitors annually.
The castle buildings represent virtually every architectural style of the last millennium. Prague Castle includes Gothic St Vitus Cathedral, Romanesque Basilica of St. George, a monastery and several palaces, gardens and defense towers. Most of the castle areas are open to tourists. The castle houses several museums, including the National Gallery collection of Bohemian baroque and mannerism art, exhibition dedicated to Czech history, Toy Museum and the picture gallery of Prague Castle, based on the collection of Rudolph II. The Summer Shakespeare Festival regularly takes place in the courtyard of Burgrave Palace.

Behind the Prague Castle walls, Ferdinand I established a royal (imperial) garden, in which he started to build a summer house in 1538 for his wife Anna of Jagiellon, who unfortunately did not live to see the completion of the building, as she died in 1547 after giving birth to her 15th child. Ferdinand I himself did not wait to see the house finished, and he left Prague after the fire in 1541.

Queen Anne's Summer Palace

Dating from 1495-1502, the royal hunting lodge of Vladislav of the Jagello dynasty acquired its current appearance thanks to pseudo-gothic alterations carried out in the 19th Century. Soon afterwards its current name came into use, because the governor Count Jan Rudolf Chotek was given the use of the structure.

Governor's Summerhouse

Villa "Amerika", also known as the Michna Summerhouse, designed by the famous architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer, is one of the earliest examples of the Baroque architectonic style in Prague. The plot of land on which it stands is situated in the Prague New Town and belonged to the Hrneček family, who had a small house and a vineyard there. It was purchased in 1715 by one of the most powerful men in Prague, Count Jan Václav Michna of Vacínov.
The task of designing the Michna house was given to Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer (1689-1751), who at that time had returned from ten years of study journeys in France and Italy. The villa shows a strong influence of the Genoa architectural style with its typical cartouches, quoins and ornamental meanders on the window gables. The French tendencies are mainly discernible in the mansard roof and flap pan tile roof covering. The construction of this residence of the Michna family took five years, from 1715 till 1720. The compact one storey villa with its four spacious rooms was mainly used for occasional visits. The music salon and other parts of the interior are decorated with frescoes inspired by antique mythology, work of the Austrian artist Johann Ferdinand Schor (1686 – 1767). The complex also had a garden with sculptures by Matthias Bernard Braun (1684 – 1738), representing two seasons of the year. It was bounded by a wrought iron and stone pillar railing. The metal railing was removed in the 1950s and replaced by a wall. Only a pediment with the initials "MW", which stand for the original owner Václav Michna, now remains.
Count Michna's mounting debts forced him to sell the villa in 1729 to the Lothringen Desfour family and the property continued to change hands at frequent intervals. In 1826 the premises of the summerhouse were converted to a restaurant particularly popular among German university students, who named it "Amerika" and the name persists to this day. During the second half of the 19th century the building was allowed to fall into gradual disrepair and was only fully reconstructed after the first Czechoslovak Republic was established in October 1918. Since 1932 the villa has housed the Antonín Dvořák Museum, administered by the Czech Museum of Music. Villa “America”

Troja Palace is a Baroque palace located in Troja, Prague's north-west borough (Czech Republic). It was built for the Counts of Sternberg from 1679 to 1691. The palace is owned by the city of Prague and hosts the 19th century Czech art collections of the City Gallery.
The palace was bought in 1922 by the Czechoslovak state, which started a restoration in the seventies. Since this period the palace has been hosting an exhibition of Czech paintings of the 19th century: Josef Čermák, Václav Brožík, Julius Mařák, Antonin Chittussi, Jan Preisler, Mikoláš Aleš.

Vyšehrad as seen over the Vltava River from Císařská louka (Imperial Meadow) Island. The Basilica of St Peter and St Paul, which dominates Vyšehrad, was remodelled in the second half of the 14th century and again in 1885 and 1887 in Neo-gothic style.

Veleslavín chateau, a single-floored baroque chateau located at the address Veleslavínská 1, is recorded as a cultural monument.[1] The southern part of Veleslavín is part of the housing estate named Petřiny, the remainder of which is in Břevnov, and contains a number of modernist buildings designed by Vlado Milunić.

Libeň château (Libeňský zámek)This charming Rococo mansion is situated in the heart of Libeň, on a well-groomed green at the edge of an extensive park. Once, a Gothic castle was located where the mansion (House No. 1) now stands. The castle was located in the middle of a settlement, mentioned for the first time as a property of the wealthy Rotlev family of the Old Town in 1363. Eliška Hoff manová of Donín bought the estate for 52,000 threescore Meissen groschen from Jiří Bryknar and his brother Albrecht in 1595. She built a small Renaissance mansion on the site.
Soon, the Libeň mansion became the venue of an event that entered history textbooks: this is where Emperor Rudolf II concluded the Peace of Libeň with his brother Matthias on 25 June 1608. At that time Matthias’s forces were preparing for an incursion in Prague but a resolute action of the Czech nobility secured the throne for Rudolph, although not for a long time. Naturally, the Emperor had to make extensive concessions. He was forced to surrender rule over Hungary, Moravia and Austria to Matthias.

Libeň Chateau

Letohrádek Hvězda, translating into English as "Star Villa" or "Star Summer Palace") is a Renaissance villa situated in a game reserve of the same name (Obora Hvězda) in Liboc, Prague 6, 7 kilometres west of Prague city centre.
The surrounding game reserve was founded in 1530 by King Ferdinand I. 25 years later, he commissioned his younger son Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria, to build the villa. The foundations were laid on 27 June 1555 by the Archduke alone, and construction of the villa was completed three years later. The villa is in the shape of a six-pointed star, from where it and the game reserve gained their shared name.
In 1962 the villa was listed as a national cultural monument, which it remains today. An exhibition on the Battle of White Mountain, which took place nearby, is now on display inside the villa which is open to the public.

Letohrádek Hvězda Chateau

The first written records of the estate are found in the register of the Vyšehrad priory of 1273. At that time it was a fort providing safe haven for local peasants from an armed attack. The Hussites lead by Jan Žižka of Trocnov took it in 1420 while rallying to the defence of Prague against Emperor Sigmunds army. The premises then passed into the ownership of the city of Prague, frequently changing occupiers throughout the 16th century. This may have caused its considerable neglect and by 1620 it was reported as deserted and derelict.
Following a period of serving as a spiritual retreat to the St. Havel Church in the Old City of Prague, and receiving further damage from religious wars between Catholics and Protestants, the estate was revived in 1627 by the Carmelite Knights Order who acquired it into their ownership by Emperor Ferdinand IIs decree of 27th April of that year. The entire premises of the St. Havel fort and settlement were one of two real estates granted to the Order, the other being a church in Vienna. The purpose of this gift was to provide the Knights with sufficient income to build a monastery attached to the St. Havel church. By then the Order had relaxed its strict rules and was allowed to own real estate. Their income from the estate, however, initially failed to provide adequate means and they were granted a ten-year permission to supplement their income by alms collection. A later improvement of their finances enabled the Carmelites to restore and enlarge their Krč estate and to establish their summer retreat here in impressive nature surroundings. A new chapel, built around that time, was dedicated to St. Havel and its religious services were open to the local population.
