The chateau is the most important monument. It is the dominant feature of the town. A cylindrical stone tower is preserved from the original Gothic castle. Between 1565 and 1578, under the rule of Jan Starší of Žerotín, the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau according to a design by the architect Gialdi. The emblem of the Žerotín family hangs above the entrance gate. The next owners, the Haugwitz family, reconstructed the chateau in baroque style. The chapel in the walls is decorated by paintings and sculptures from an abolished Capuchin monastery; the vault of the chateau library has rich stucco and fresco decorations. The library contains 16,000 volumes including the Kralice Bible. After 1945 the chateau served as a summerhouse for President Edvard Beneš, today there is a valuable collection of tapestries there. Music concerts are regularly held in the chateau library and in the courtyard. The chateau game park is well known for breeding fallow deer. 
There is a large collection of tapestry from the 16th to 19th centuries in the chateau halls. Two visiting tours familiarise the visitors with period interior furniture, including the library, the chapel, and the study of the President Beneš. A park surrounds the chateau.

A fortress with a water moat in the 13th century, a Renaissance residence from the 16th century and an opulent Baroque chateau from the 18th century – this is the history of the Budišov Chateau. 
In 1974, the chateau passed under the Moravian Museum a depository of the Department of Natural Sciences, open to public was placed here. In the museum, visitors can see unique collection of natural history. 
A park with four ponds is also here. It was developed in the 1720s, partially in French style. Originally, there was a large collection of sculptures, but only statue sphinxes and Atlas have survived.

Budišov Chateau

The original castle was rebuilt in 1790 in late Baroque chateau with classicism building elements. Its two large halls are decorated with frescoes by renowned Moravian late Baroque painter Josef Winterhalter. A large English park is part of the chateau.
The chateau is a rectangular two-storey building with ground floor lateral wings. In the axis of the main facade is the entry columned portico, the garden is in rear part of chateau. There is also sala terrena topped with a triangular gable. Historically equipment interiors have been preserved very little. The chateau complex is surrounded a large English park with many rare tree species.

Dukovany Chateau

The Oslavany chateau - originally the first women's Cistercian convent in Moravia "Vallis s. Mariae" (Mary valley) was founded in 1225 by Heilwig from Znojmo. In 1228, the Olomouc archbishop was ordained in the presence of Premysl Otakar I and his family.
In 1423, the convent was allegedly burnt down by the Hussites and in 1471 William of Perstejn received rights of disposal to it from King Vladislav Jagelonsky.
The convent began to be rebuilt into a chateau after an extensive fire in 1517.
Other administrators that had to forfeit the chateau were the Kuns of Kunstat and later the Krajirs of Krajka. After 1577 Krystof of Althana acquires the chateau from Emperor Rudolf II and Krystof's successor Adolph of Althana carries out extensive Renaissance reconstruction during 1580 - 1590.
In 1599, the chateau was held by Wolf Ditrich of Althana, from whom it was confiscated by Emperor Ferdinand II for his participation in the Stavovske rebellion. As seized property the manor was handed over to the administration of cardinal Frantisek of Ditrichstein. In 1621 the catholic Michal Adam of Althana, brother of Wolf Ditrich, acquires the chateau into his ownership. After him the owners of the chateau were subsequently his sons Michal I and Michal Jan II. In 1654, via marriage it comes into the ownership of the Mollart family. In 1712, Petr Arnost of the Mollarts sells the chateau to the Old Brno cloisters. In 1783, during the Josephine reforms they lost it and the manor fell into the hands of the Emperor's chamber. In 1789, the chateau was sold into the inheritance ownership of Jan Nepomuk Schraffovi. The last owners of the chateau were the Gomperzs. The brothers of Max and Philip bought it in 1885 and in 1939 the chateau was confiscated by the German army as Jewish property. It was changed into Wermacht barracks. After 1945 the chateau was confiscated by the State as German property and was the headquarters of various organizations, which used it as a warehouse.
In 1993, the devastated chateau became the property of the town and since 1996 this monument has been integrated into the Saving Our Architectural Heritage Program of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and its renovation is being carried out.
The chateau is an extensive Renaissance structure with an arcade courtyard. The original Gothic convent church was preserved and served as the chateau's chapel and now is utilized for concerts. "The History of Mining and Power Engineering" exhibition is located in the chateau. For the time being the chateau is open to the public only several times a year. Traditionally this is on "Open Doors Day" on 1 May, the Karmel fair on 16 July or the first Sunday after the 16th, and the "Oslavany's Historical Celebrations" always on the second weekend in September. The town is looking for an investor to commercially utilize the chateau in accordance with the conditions of monument care.

Oslavany Chateau

A significant monument of Moravian Renaissance. The first written record dates back to 1259. The front is Classical, the second courtyard has a Renaissance arcade with interesting relief symbols (wealth, talent, fame, etc). The interiors of the first floor house a unique hanging painting from the 16th century, stucco ceilings, historical furniture.
The current exposition includes almost the entire first floor of the chateau. The accessible rooms are equipped with furnishings, paintings and decorated with stucco work and frescoes. The exposition is a cross-section of the chateau’s history from renaissance times, through the lavish mannerist stucco ornamentation and baroque furniture to classical paintings in the chateau chapel.

Rosice Chateau

The originally a Renaissance chateau, was expanded in the Baroque era, and then adapted in the neo- Gothic style. Of the various architectural styles, the Gothic Renaissance entry gate have survived. The chateau interiors are decorated with stucco and paintings and appointed with period furnishings. Today, the chateau houses the museum. 
The chateau has housed the museum since 1948. In addition to historical and natural collections, visitors can see a collection pertaining to the military operations of the Austro-Hungarian army in 1909, and also a batiste handkerchief of František Harrach, the adjutant of the heir to the throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, with the archduke’s blood. The exhibition specialising on roads gives an introduction to road and bridge construction, through photographs and design documentation.

Velké Meziříčí Chateau

The first written record of Moravský Krumlov dates to 1227. The town´s Renaissance chateau dating between 1557 to 1562 stands on the site of a former medieval Gothic castle. Three sides of the chateau courtyard are lined with Renaissance arcades. After the lost battle on the White Hill (1621), the family of Lichtenstein was the owner of the estate.
The well-known Slav Epic by the painter, Alfons Mucha (1860-1939), is situated in the Hall of Knights in the Chateau.

Moravský Krumlov Chateau

For the first time ever, the entire building was reconstructed thus creating space for four thematically independent exhibitions, which focus in different ways on topics linked with the town of Třebíč and the wider region. These include the mineralogical exhibition entitled The World of Inanimate Nature, the monastery exhibition The World of Portals and Gates, the castle tour The Waldstein Family at Třebíč and finally, the museum exhibition entitled People. Places. Destinies.
In addition to tours that offer a deeper understanding of the region and the museum’s collections, you can also visit short-term exhibitions in the former castle stables as well as concerts and lectures in the Stone Hall.
Educational programmes are prepared for schools on a regular basis involving modern technologies both in the exhibitions as well as in a multi-function hall and study.
The reconstruction also made the premises fully accessible to the disabled visitors. 
Visitors can sit back and relax at the Museum Cafe and rest areas in the paradise garden and in the outer courtyard of the castle.

Třebíč Chateau

According to legend, the castle Veveří ("squirrel" in Czech) was founded by Přemyslid Duke Conrad of Brno in the middle of the 11th Century, then only as a hunting house. Nevertheless, the first credible recorded mention about the castle is from the years 1213 and 1222, when King Přemysl Otakar I used the fortified castle as a prison for rebellious peers. Initially, it was apparently a wooden residence situated near the Romanesque church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary west of the present compound. In the 1220s a stone castle on the extremity of the rocky promontory behind a deep moat cut out of the rock started to grow. The so-called keep is the only structure which has remained well-preserved from this oldest building stage.
King John of Bohemia pledged the castle to nobleman Jan of Vartemberk in 1311, but his son, Margrave of Moravia Charles (later Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV), received the property as a debt settlement in 1335. Charles´ younger brother, Margrave Jan Jindřich (John Henry), then took a fancy for Veveří Castle. He was responsible for the building of its rear part with two towers and an outer ward. In the central area around the keep, he developed the main palace, which included a large hall and the Chapel of St. Procopius (later of St. Wenceslaus). The present appearance of the compound is the result of these building activities, giving the castle its basic silhouette of a medieval fortress.
The castle was a military-civic centre around a manor until the Hussite Wars. During the Hussite wars, Emperor Sigismund positioned mercenary forces of his son-in-law, Albrecht of Austria, around the castle, but he later pledged it to local nobleman Petr Kutěj in 1424. The Hussites besieged the castle in vain during the years 1428–32. During the second half of the 15th century, the castle was rented by Przemyslaus II of Těšín, who decided to reinforce the castle with the construction of surrounding walls. In 1468, King of Hungary and antiking of Bohemia Matthias Corvinus started his occupation of the castle.
At the end of the 15th century, Václav of Ludanice acquired the castle and became the first representative of his noble family which resided here. But his mismanagement of expenses and debts resulted in the family's eventual sale of manor.

Veveří Castle

Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou Chateau ranks among the most robust architectural buildings dating from the first half of the 18th century in not only this country, but also throughout Europe. It gained its Baroque form between 1700 and 1737, when it was ruled by the Questenberg noble family. The plans for its new form were designed by the renowned Austrian architect Jakub Prandtauer. The chateau offers visitors two tours of its interior – the A route includes apartments furnished in the style of a Baroque noble family residence, including a music parlour, whereas the B route takes visitors through guestrooms and the kitchen. When taking the third route of the tour, you can visit the Baroque-styled interior of St Margaret’s temple. Permanent exhibitions are supplemented every year with interesting and engaging seasonal displays. Behind the chateau is a French-style garden which continues on the other side of the Rokytná River as a large English-style garden.
