The originally Renaissance chateau, built by Václav Budovec of Budova, was passed in the hands of Albrecht of Valdštejn after the Battle of White Mountain.
The history of the chateau is linked with the noble family of Valdštejn. It was in their possession from 1623 to 1945. Its present look comes from the period of Arnošt Josef of Valdštejn: it was created during the 1697-1700 period by Mark Antonio Canevallo, Italian architect, who later added other buildings, too. The Sala Terrena was designed by Mikuláš Raimimondi (1711). The large park comprises stables, an orangery and a garden pavilion.
A part of the premises is the Capuchin monastery with Church of the Magi and St Ann's Chapel. The chapel is the place where the shrine of Albrecht of Valdštejn, Prince of Frýdlant and famous military leader from the period of the Thirty Years War is buried.
Visitors are offered a choice of three tours. The first tour will take you around the period interiors with extensive collections of Delphi faience, Chinese china and Dresden and Japanese china. Another interesting attraction is the Valdštejn library from Duchcov, in the 18th century administered by the world-renowned G. Cassanova. The second tour comprises the Empire theatre as well. The second floor of the chateau is used by the Town Museum and presents local archaeology, ethnography and nature, historic pharmacy and a model of the Drábské Světničky.

The first written mention of the village dates back to the mid-12th century. The village became known in particular for the Cistercian monastery, founded in 1144 as probably one of the first Cistercian monasteries in Bohemia. The founders of the monastery were members of the Markvartic family, ancestors of the lords of Zvířetice. The name, Hradiště, originates from  local traditions when a fortress was already located there in the Hallstatt period. The official name "Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou" has been used since 1922.

Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou Chateau

The ruin of Zvířetice castle is large and we may find it near the town Bakov nad Jizerou. Observant visitor will find a lot of preserved architectural details including Gothic and Renaissance portals and jambs.
Near the ruin of Valečov castle, which is situated near the town Mnichovo Hradiště, there are well preserved romantic rooms carved into the rock that once served as dwellings for poor. The ruin of Valečov castle is considered as one of the most beautiful rock castles. Not far from it there are ruins of another rock castle - Drábské světničky. Drábské světničky offer a beautiful view of Příhrazské skály (Rocks) and their surroundings. The picturesque ruin od Zásadka castle is in the Mnichovo Hradiště area. There you may see only the ruins of moats, rampart and walls of the original castle.

Zásadka Castle

Drábské světničky is a ruin of a 13th-century rock castle in the Czech Republic. It is located about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) northeast of Mnichovo Hradiště on the ragged edge of a sandstone cliff high above surrounding landscape. The castle covers a group of seven sandstone rocks, connected with wooden bridges. It has been abandoned since the Hussite wars in the 15th century.

Drábské světničky Castle

It is considered one of our most beautiful rock castles. Its look is strongly influenced by the sandstone blocks in which a part of the castle was carved and another part was built in. Valečov Castle was built at the beginning of the 14th century. Some two centuries later, i.e. in the 16th century, a walled palace was added.
The part of the complex at the entrance presents archaeological findings from the collections of the museum in Mladá Boleslav. There is also the core part with the walled palace, rock chambers and corridors.
It is very interesting to visit the front yard with rock dwellings - there is a jail and a dungeon as well.

Valečov Castle

The castle was founded sometime in the first decade of the 14th century by Markvartic Zdislav, the son of Havel of Lemberk, a burgrave at Prague Castle and his wife, beatified Zdislava. Zdislav (of Lemberk) is mentioned in historic documents during the 1273 - 1318 period. His sons Heřman and Markvart are mentioned under their new family residence in Zvířetice.
The ruin of the castle, situated some 4 km to the north from Mladá Boleslav, was renovated first in the late Gothic style; during the Renaissance period it was rebuilt in a fortified chateau. The manor residence was damaged by the fire of 1720 and has never been restored. The present look of the ruin, whose dominant element is the half-preserved cylindrical tower, co-creates the unique romantic panorama of the valley of the Jizera River.

Zvířetice Castle

In 1345 Cistercian monks from the monastery Hradiště based a farmyard where beer was produced in 16th century. The year 1564 is linked with the first mention of brewing beer in the brewery in Svijany. Brewing and pubs establishment increased financial income of a manor. In 1567 there was a division of property between Vartenberk sons and the place was named Svijany for the first time. In the same year building of Castle Svijany started and was finished after 11 years in 1578. 
After the death of the estate owner Jaroslav Vartenberk Jáchym Ondřej Šlik gained Svijany Castle and brewery. He let decorated the knights' hall in the west wing with the magnificent Renaissance paintings in the 20s of 17th century. They were then covered by a simple coating and were completely forgotten.
They were rediscovered during the reconstruction. The genuine paintings including painted coats of arms are now restored. In the eastern field was discovered a sign of a mother of Jáchym Ondřej Šlik Anne from Suneck. Towards the west follow signs of his wives, Anne of Kolowrat, Anne of Smiřice and Ursula from Oppersdorf. Jáchym Ondřej Šlik was the first of the 27 lords executed in 1621 on the Old Town Square and his remains were buried after a year.
After his death, in 1623 Albrecht of Valdštejn acquired the manor. Valdštejns were prolific businessmen and even the brewery prospered. The castle was rebuilt and structurally modified and the brewery was extended also. In 1820 the Svijany manor was bought by a Prince Karel Alain from Rohan family. During their reign the Castle became part of Sychrov manor and served as an administrative building and as accommodation of officials.

Svijany Chateau

The chateau was created by the reconstruction of a Renaissance fortress from 1570. It was rebuilt according to the plans of G.B. Alliprandi in 1697-1709. The Baroque chateau was modified in Empire style in 1836.

Kosmonosy Chateau

Michalovice is a castle near the Jezera river, about 3 kilometres (2 mi) northwest of the town of Mladá Boleslav, in Central Bohemia, Czech Republic.
The ruins of the early Gothic Michalovice castle stands on the right bank of the Jizera river. It was built by members of the Markvartice family during the last quarter of the 13th century to replace an earlier manor house. It was left to decay already in the 15th century. In the 19th century the ruins of the castle were sapped by treasure hunters, and now only the look-out tower remains.
The robust cylindrical leaning tower is the reason the castle has often been called the tub of Michalovice.

Michalovice Castle

The chateau in Bělá pod Bezdězem was built at the locality of a former fortress during the 1582 – 1615 period. It was rebuilt in the Baroque style at the end of the 17th century.
In the 19th century the chateau was used by the renowned higher school of forest industry where Dr. Emanuel Purkyně, son of J. E. Purkyně was a teacher. In 1941 museum collections from the nearby Augustinian monastery were placed in the chateau. At present, there is a museum with a permanent exposition of the history of the Bezděz region.

Bělá pod Bezdězem Chateau

Kost Castle lies in Northern Bohemia, specifically the region Bohemian Paradise (Český Ráj) and is privately owned by Kinský dal Borgo noble family It was first proposed by Beneš von Wartenberg in 1349 as a possible construction site and was completed by his son Peter von Wartenberg. It retains most of the original features and is overall very well preserved and maintained.
The castle is known for its so-called "White tower" (Bílá Věž). In about 1414 the family of Zajíc von Hasenburg moved there; later the family of Schellenberg (1497–1524), Lobkowicz (till 1576) and others; in this time some more buildings were built near the castle and joined to it.
Unlike most other castles in Bohemia, it does not lie on a hill, but on a spit between two brooks. Another peculiarity is the tower, which has a trapezoid-like ground-plan. The trapezoidal tower has the corners facing the areas of most likely catapult attacks. This is to make the missiles glance off the tower walls instead of hitting it headon thereby minimizing the damage.
