Dating from 1495-1502, the royal hunting lodge of Vladislav of the Jagello dynasty acquired its current appearance thanks to pseudo-gothic alterations carried out in the 19th Century. Soon afterwards its current name came into use, because the governor Count Jan Rudolf Chotek was given the use of the structure.
