Originally a Renaissance chateau, which was built by Hynek Bruntalsky of Vrbna. At the end of the 17th century, a second floor was added. In the 1960s, the chateau and adjacent farmstead wings underwent radical historicising reconstruction in the Neo-Classical style.

Lipník nad Bečvou Chateau

The castle was probably established at the end of the 13th century by the marauding knight Friduš (or Helfrid) of Linava who used the castle as a base for robbing merchants during the unsettled times that followed the murder of Wenceslas III, the last Přemyslide, in 1306. As Friduš's escapades could not be ignored, young King John of Luxemburg sent his troops to deal with the bandits. Although Friduš perished, he gave his name to the castle.[1] At the turn of the 14th century the Kravař family acquired it, after which it became the center of their extensive estates. During the 14th and the beginning of the 15th century the castle was remodelled as a Gothic fortress. The Lords of Kravař owned the castle until 1447, and it was then held mostly by a number of Moravian noble families, among them the Sovinec family, the Kostek of Postupice family, the Pernštejn, the Ludanice and the Vrbno family.[2] This unassailable structure withstood a number of sieges. It was an important Hussite bastion against the German catholic town of Olomouc and also acted in support of King George of Poděbrady against the Hungarian King Mathias Corvin who was unable to defeat the king's troops and capture the fortress in 1468.[2] Not even the Swedes and the Danes succeeded in capturing it during the Thirty Years' War.

Helfštýn Castle

Romantic Neo-Gothic building structure in the form of a Medieval castle with castellation. It was built in 1907-1908 as the family summer residence for the Hranice factory owner Antonin Kunz.

Kunzov Chateau

After 1480 the castle was owned by the House of Žerotín. At the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries redeveloped into a Renaissance chateau with an arcade courtyard, preserved fortifications and a moat. Later some Baroque modification was carried out. In the 18th century several rooms were decorated with frescos and part of the fortifications were removed in the mid-19th century. Nowadays various cultural events take place at the chateau, and its premises also house a regional history museum and a display of the works of the sculptor J. Lendr.

Dřevohostice Chateau

One of the later owners, Jan Kropáč of Nevědomí, redeveloped the building into a two-wing Renaissance chateau, and the subsequent holder, Zdeněk Žampach of Potštejn, converted it into its present-day form. In 1996-1998 an overall reconstruction of the chateau took place, and nowadays it ranks amongst the most beautiful late Renaissance structures in Moravia. It is a seat of the Hranice Municipality, and the first floor houses a gallery. Thanks to its unique roofing, the courtyard serves as a venue for various cultural events.

Hranice Chateau

The owner of the original Gothic castle became the Pernštejn family at the end of the 15th century. Přerov came into the possession of Karel the Elder of Žerotín at the turn of the 17th century, at which time the remodelling of the castle into a Renaissance Château culminated. The majority of the construction adaptations in the interiors and the exteriors of the château were finally carried out in the first half of the 19th century by Count Antonín Magnis and his son Vilém. The château was no longer used for housing purposes by the end of the 19th century. The château was taken over by the town of Přerov after the founding of Czechoslovakia which decided to adapt the château interiors for museum exhibitions and a depository. Comenius Museum was moved into the spaces of the château at the beginning of the 1930s and is used up until the present for museum purposes.

Přerov Chateau

Single-storey, rectangular chateau building which stands on the site of a former fortress. In the 19th century it was rebuilt in Empire style. A natural landscape park is located adjacent to the park. Now the building serves as a municipal office and a nursery school is located on the first floor.

Malhotice Chateau

Originally a water fortress from 1567 let Christopher Mauschwitz of Armenruh demolished in 1600 to build a late-Renaissance chateau. Its present form was given in 1855 by Count Josef of Nostitz. Interesting is the decoration of the chapel on the first floor.

Rokytnice Chateau

Chateau Bystřice pod Hostýnem is found in the centre of the town and is a unique example of the gradual modernization of estates. The most famous owners of the chateau were the Laudons, who owned the chateau for 106 years. The statue of the renowned leader Ernest Gideon Laudon still decorates the chateau today. In 1897 Emperor Franz Josef I lived in the chateau.

Bystřice pod Hostýnem Chateau

Originally a fortress once stood in Kelč, which the brothers Jan and Beneš of Heršice had built in around the 2nd half of the 15th century, after their castle Šaumburk had been destroyed. Towards the end of the 16th century, during the rule of Bishop Stanislav Pavlovsky, the fortress was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau,which it still remains today.

Kelč Chateau

Originally a fortress which was reconstructed into a Renaissance chateau during the rule of the Bruntalsky of Vrbna. In the 17th century, it was reconstructed and expanded in Baroque style. There was a brewery here until 1945.
