Libochovice Chateau is situated in the centre of Libochovice town, Ústí nad Labem Region, Czech Republic. The castle is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It is one of the most significant Early-Baroque castles in the Czech Republic.
During the gothic times, there were a fortress at the place of recent chateau, and at the year 1550 was listed as deserted. At 1560 were the ruins rebuilt as chateau. In the 17th century, one hundred years after Libochovice was declared the town by Ferdinand I., there was a huge fire, which destroyed almost half of the city. However, it was not for the first time. The city underwent three fires altogether, during which also Libochovice chateau was severely damaged.
The current image of the chateau comes from the 17th century, when it was bought by Gundakar of Dietrichstein. He asked Italian architect Antonio della Porta to restore it. Therefore, the Italian influence is evident. Antonio della Porta renewed this chateau between years 1683 - 1690, economic buildings were restored between years 1690 - 1697.
Next renewing of chateau was between years 1900 - 1914 by E. Fiala.
The park was designed in French style by Jan Tulipán. During the 19th century, it was re-designed in English style and later restored again in the original design.

The beginnings of the castle date back to approximately the onset of the 14th century. During its course of time, the castle became the family residence of the Zajíce of Valdek. In the middle of the 16th century, following the Hussite wars, the Zajíces abandoned the castle, thus marking the onset of its deterioration. Mainly the two towers have been preserved from the original building - the Black Tower (cylindrical, basalt) and White Tower (quadrilateral, sandstone). There are remains of a town at the edge of the castle, which was abandoned at the same time as the castle.

Házmburk Castle

The Gothic water stronghold was rebuilt first in the late Gothic and later in the Renaissance style. Its interior, with the magnificent Golden Hall, is decorated with murals from the 16th century.

Budyně nad Ohří Castle

The chateau Peruc is located in the Usti nad Labem district, eastward of Louny.
The chateau is set right in the middle of a village of the same name. The chateau history is very long, it had been many times rebuilt and renewed. At the beginning it used to be a castle in 13th century. Even nowadays you can see some parts of it- the basement, the Romance line aisler under the north wing of the chateau. In 1319 a fortress was built at that place by order of the lords from Peruce. The fortress was renewed with the arrival of a new architecture style-Renaissance in 16th century as well as in 18th century with Baroque fashion.
The chateau is now under construction, but chateau park is accessible.

Peruc Chateau

Skalka, a castle together with a chateau, are found in the western area of the Czech central mountains, at the village Vlastislav not far from Třebenice. The first mention of the castle is from 1357, in connection with Petr, known as Skála. During the Hussite wars, the castle was held by an enemy of the Hussites, Hanuš of Sulevice. In 1496 it was obtained by Vchynští of Vchynice. After this, ownership alternated until in 1544 Jan Kaplíř of Sulevice and Košťálově bought Skalka. In 1579 the next owner, Adam Hrzán of Harasov, extended the estates. In 1639 Skalka was devastated by Swedish soldiers and much of its masonry was used in building a baroque chateau, which eventually built next to the former castle by the Hrzáns of Harasov.
The castle stood on a thin rocky ridge, whose northeast flank borders a cliff wall which the chateau building almost clings to. The northwest flank is milder, and so the access path (which splits in two directions) runs here. One path leads under the forecastle, the other leads to the cliff with the rounded tower of the castle (commonly called bergfrit). The tower, which has relatively well-preserved battlements, is irregular in section and is 15.5 meters high. The entry is 9.5 meters above ground level. Inside the tower there were once writings, engraved by prisoners in the 17th century when the tower served as a prison. Behind the tower is a small area, where presumably the palace stood. The oldest part of the site is the castle area on the top of the rocky ridge. Later the castle was extended even to the location of the chateau, and part of the cellars were preserved. Before 1579, a Renaissance chateau was evidently located on the site of the present-day chateau, this was destroyed in 1639 by the Swedish. The present chateau dated from the end of the 17th century. Material quarried from the castle was used during its construction, and the only remnant of the castle standing today is the imposing tower.

Skalka Castle

Originally a castle that gave Bohuchval Valkoun of Adlaru in 1601 to rebuild into the Renaissance chateau. Then it was owned Kolovrats later Kinsky seat until 1945. Today the castle offices, apartments and classrooms.

Zlonice Chateau

Roudnice Castle was built in the 12th century by Bishop Jindřich Břetislav, the nephew of the Czech king Vladislav I, to protected an important trade route from Prague to Upper Lusatia along the Elbe. The castle complex included several farm buildings, protected by a fortified wall; the castle itself had walls that were two meters thick, and watch towers in each corner. In the mid-14th century, it was rebuilt in a Gothic style and became a favorite summer residence for Prague bishops. It is said that Jan Hus was ordained as a priest there.
In 1421, the Catholic Church sold the castle to Jan Smiřický, who renovated it once again. George of Poděbrady, king of Bohemia (1420-1477), captured Roudnice from Smiřický in 1467. It passed into the ownership of William Rožumberk (1535-1592), the Supreme Burgrave and one of the wealthiest men in Bohemia. After Rožumberk’s death, his widow Polyxena Pernštejn (1566-1642) married Zdenek Vojtěch of Lobkowicz, Chancellor of the Czech Kingdom and later 1st Prince Lobkowicz, bringing Roudnice into the Lobkowicz family’s possessions. In 1652 their son Václav Eusebius, 2nd Prince Lobkowicz (1609-1677), embarked upon an ambitious project to transform the castle into an early baroque palace. From 1657 until the Second World War the Lobkowicz Collection's library was stored in Roudnice Castle, leading to the library being named the Roudnice Lobkowicz Library.

Roudnice nad Labem Chateau

Former Gothic castle is the pearl of the royal town of Litoměřice. Located right in the historical city center, only a few dozen meters from the Peace Square.
The heart of the castle is a modern exhibition, which is a tourist attraction not only for wine lovers. Interested parties can also visit the tasting room with original stone tiles and vaulted ceilings adjoining the cellar, where the wine archive is located.
Thanks to the castle Litoměřice become the center of congress tourism. This allows modern equipped conference hall with preserved Gothic artifacts. Attractive spaces offers a lounge area connected with the historical monument of the chapel of the 14th century (in which, according to the extant historical sources prayed Karel IV.).

Litoměřice Castle

Gothic Milešov Castle, firstly mentioned in 1390, was rebuilt into simple Renaissance chateau by its owner Bohuslav Kaplír of Sulevice (Bohuslav Kaplír ze Sulevic) in 1603. His son Karel Kaplír built a new four wing Baroque chateau, which was added to existing Gothic-Renaissance palace in 1659-1661. Monumental two-storey building with courtyard arcades and chapel was designed by architect of Italian-Swiss origin Antonio della Porta. Nowadays chateau houses retirement home.

Milešov Chateau

Not far from the village Kostomlaty pod Milešovkou, a castle was built on a hill by a lady from Oseka, most likely before the year 1333. At the start of the Hussite wars Kostomlaty was held by Albrecht Škopek of Dub. He successfully resisted the attacks of the Hussite armies, although the castle was badly damaged. In 1434, at the time of the battle at Lipan, the Hussite leader Jakoubek of Vresovice laid seige to the castle. The seige was not successful, but all the same in 1435 he is mentioned as occupying Kostomlaty. He also won subsequent battles over the castle with the lady from Dub, and his descendents were known as the Kostomlatys of Vresovice. The Kostomlatys of Vresovice owned the castle and estates up to the start of the Thirty Years war, but with the coming of the Renaissance in the 16th century the castle lost its prestige and was gradually abandoned. It was again occupied at the end of the 18th century, when a tavern was established in the forecourt. The entrance path winds up towards the castle on high and leads to the bailey, which was build around the trapezoidal forecastle. To get to the forecastle, one went through a small gated tower, supported on the left side by a cylindrical tower. This was part of the perimeter walls and had a square internal shaft. The castle proper was enclosed by baileys with two square forts. In the southwest corner of the castle wall looms a rounded tower, ending with a narrower top around which is a circular walkway. Two parallel palaces formed the residential part of the castle. The palace near the towers was enlarged and raised in the first half of the 15th century. Remnants of the palaces can be seen in the outer walls, here and there are spaces where there were once windows.

Kostomlaty Castle

The first written record of Ploskovice comes from the 13th century. It appears in a supplement to an old Latin text of a foundation charter of Litoměřice chapter from the years 1057 – 1058. Ploskovice was in possession of a nobleman named Hroznat in the 12th century who gave it as a present to the Order of Johannites in Prague in 1188. Johannites had a fortified seat – a preceptory built in here. The preceptory may have stood at the place of a later Gothic fortress and an old chateau. Johannites held Ploskovice in their possession until 1545 when they sold it. It was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau during the years 1545– 1575. There were many owners of Ploskovice, however it is worth mentioning one of them – Anna Marie Františka, later of Toscany. She decided to build a new, luxury chateau here which could compete with at that time aristocratic buildings in abroad. She had it built in half an Italian and half Chinese style and richly furnished. Water dams and fountains, decorative gardens, open galleries, statues and grottos were developed according to Lenotrov´s example creating a copy of small Versailles. The costs allegedly exceeded a million of golden coins. There are no accounts of bills, though. The first archived documents come from 1725. They relate to finishing works. According to style analyses, the building comes from the period of 1720 – 1730 and the architecture is ascribed to Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer. A hundred years later, the last Czech crowned king Ferdinand V. chose Ploskovice chateau as its summer residence. The castle was in a rather desolate state back then, it was necessary to have it enlarged and renovated. Hence, one more floor and a pavilion were added to it. An open arcade was restored. The chateau today is a national cultural monument and has been under gradual reconstruction. It is open to public for guided tours. Not only the beautiful chateau but also its park in the area of 8 ha is worth visiting. The most precious woody plant growing here is a real showpiece of Aesculus Hippocastanum Laciniata.
