The Gothic water stronghold was built in the half of the 14th century, it lost its defence function in the 16th century and today remains only the tall round tower. It serves as a museum and observation tower, on one floor there is a chapel.

Castle was built a place of old stronghold during 15th century and at the beginning of 17th century owners Krajirove of Krajk started to chngeover to renaissnce chateau. Emperors like Ferdinand I, Maxmilian II and mainly Rudolph II liked to stay here very much. Walls were during time decorated by sgrafiti. Chateau has also big italian type garden.
There is a promontory above the Labe in Brandýs nad Labem that from time immemorial has served as a protective shield guarding a ford on the river. Perched on the promontory, the original Brandýs Castle became a residence of the Habsburg monarchs. Under Ferdinand Ithe structure was rebuilt into a splendid Renaissance chateau. Brandys experienced its heyday under Rudolf II who liked to come here, together with the prominent scholars and artists of that time. Devastated during the Thirty Years` War, the chateau was renovated soon afterwards and monarchs continued to sojourn here until 1918. Today there i library of Ludwig Salvator of Tuscany and items recalling Emperor Charles I.

Brandýs nad Labem Chateau

A chateau built in the romantic style in the middle of the 19th Century on the foundations of the original castle from the 17th century. The 19th Century saw a blossoming of chateau residences. When turned over to the state in 1948, all was changed, and the building was partially ruined. Today the chateau is again in private hands.

Libeň château (Libeňský zámek)This charming Rococo mansion is situated in the heart of Libeň, on a well-groomed green at the edge of an extensive park. Once, a Gothic castle was located where the mansion (House No. 1) now stands. The castle was located in the middle of a settlement, mentioned for the first time as a property of the wealthy Rotlev family of the Old Town in 1363. Eliška Hoff manová of Donín bought the estate for 52,000 threescore Meissen groschen from Jiří Bryknar and his brother Albrecht in 1595. She built a small Renaissance mansion on the site.
Soon, the Libeň mansion became the venue of an event that entered history textbooks: this is where Emperor Rudolf II concluded the Peace of Libeň with his brother Matthias on 25 June 1608. At that time Matthias’s forces were preparing for an incursion in Prague but a resolute action of the Czech nobility secured the throne for Rudolph, although not for a long time. Naturally, the Emperor had to make extensive concessions. He was forced to surrender rule over Hungary, Moravia and Austria to Matthias.

Libeň Chateau

Lobkovice Castle is halfway between Prague and Melnik Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
Lobkovice is among the oldest of Czech villages, already being mentioned by Václav Hájek from Libočany in the times of Saint Wenceslaus (the Good King Wenceslas) and Saint Adalbert of Prague.
In the second half of the 14th Century Lobkovice belonged to Mikuláš Cotr, a citizen of Prague, and in 1377 the estate became the property of J. Cucha of Zásada.
Lobkovice was acquired by Mikuláš Chudý of Újezd, the founder of the House of Lobkowicz, in 1409, and stayed in the family until the nineteenth century, when it was bought by the Prague attorney Dr. Jan Mechura, father-in-law of the historian František Palacký, who died there in 1876. A few years later, Prince Moric of Lobkowicz reacquired the original family seat. In 1948, the estate was nationalised by the socialist government (resulting from the bill of the Revision of the First Czechoslovak Land Reform passed in July 1947).
The Lobkovice Estate was returned after the Prague Velvet Revolution to the grandson of the last owner prior 1948, Prince Ferdinand Joseph Lobkowicz.

Lobkovice Castle

The Benedictine convent of St George at Prague Castle was already long established when, in 1228, King Otakar I of Bohemia gifted the nearby village of Břežany to the nuns. The village, whose name comes from a word meaning ‘river-bank’, soon gained the addition ‘Panenské’ (of the Virgin), and became the seat of the convent’s powerful abbesses for the next five hundred years. A residence was built, along with a chapel dedicated to Saint Anne.
Following a devastating fire in 1691, the then abbess, Francesca Helena Pieroni de Galiano, took the opportunity to rebuild both residence and chapel. For the latter project, she commissioned Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel (a pupil of Jean Baptiste Mathey) who was already turning heads with eccentric geometrical designs strongly influenced by his hero, the Italian architect Francesco Borromini, whose work he had admired on a visit to Rome.
Like Borromini, Santini’s fascination lay in the interplay of line and space, and particularly the sense of movement that arose from the connection of concave and convex curves. Basing the chapel’s plan on numerological principles (triangles for the Trinity, pentagons for the five wounds of Christ) the 28-year-old architect produced a compact, dynamic building that his admirers see as the launchpad for his later work. The chapel was constructed by master builder Filip Spannbrucker between 1705 and 1707.
The neighbouring house was rebuilt in a style sympathetic to Santini’s for use as a summer house for the convent. Having passed through several hands after the dissolution of the convent in 1782, in 1941 it became the home of K.H. Frank, the notorious SS officer among whose many crimes was the organization of the destruction of Lidice. Having served as a retirement home since the war, the chateau is currently being remodelled as a museum of anti-fascist resistance.

Panenské Břežany Chateau

Troja Palace is a Baroque palace located in Troja, Prague's north-west borough (Czech Republic). It was built for the Counts of Sternberg from 1679 to 1691. The palace is owned by the city of Prague and hosts the 19th century Czech art collections of the City Gallery.
The palace was bought in 1922 by the Czechoslovak state, which started a restoration in the seventies. Since this period the palace has been hosting an exhibition of Czech paintings of the 19th century: Josef Čermák, Václav Brožík, Julius Mařák, Antonin Chittussi, Jan Preisler, Mikoláš Aleš.

Troja Palace

Dating from 1495-1502, the royal hunting lodge of Vladislav of the Jagello dynasty acquired its current appearance thanks to pseudo-gothic alterations carried out in the 19th Century. Soon afterwards its current name came into use, because the governor Count Jan Rudolf Chotek was given the use of the structure.

Governor's Summerhouse

Renaissance chateau in Roztoky combining elements of various stylse together, starting from the Romanesque foundation and ending with Neo-Gothic modifications. In 1965-1974, statues from the 17th-19th century were transferred to the chateau premises and a work by Hedvik Zaorálka was placed in the chateau gardens.

Roztoky u Prahy Chateau

The Přerov nad Labem municipality lies in the westernmost tip of the middle Labe (Elbe) river basin lowland. It is dominated by a Renaissance chateau, on a site once - probably as early as 10th century - occupied by a stronghold donated, together with the adjacent settlements, by St Adalbert of the Slavník dynasty to the Břevnov Benedictine Monastery.
