The rock castle on Starozámecký vrch above Dolní Adršpach was likely established in the 2nd half of the 13th century. The first recorded owner, Hanuš of Adršpach, held the castle from 1354-1359. However, new owners, the Táboři, later began to torment residents of nearby Slezsko with marauding attacks; the owners were therefore paid off by Slezsko towns and the castle was intentionally razed. Remnants of buildings, a gate, and rock moats have survived. The castle ruins are evidence of a unique Gothic structure with remarkably arranged defence features. The accessible platform of the rear palace tower provides one of the most beautiful views of the Adršpaš rock city, Křížový vrch on the opposite side, and the surrounding landscape.

Dolní Adršpach Chateau

The castle was built on a high cliff in the middle of a deep borderland forest. A substantial part of the castle was built directly into the rock. The castle was founded around the year 1250 by the Lords of Skalice who also held nearby Adršpach Castle and Vízmburk Castle. Střemen acquired its name according to the stirrups on the Lords’ coat of arms. The castle was likely damaged during the Hussite Wars, or later in 1447. The only reminders of Střmen today are chiselled cliff walls, notches for beams, and remnants of stairs. Built on the highest rock where the castle tower stood is an observation deck that can be reached by stairs and ladders.

Meziměstí Chateau

Rectangular, two-story Renaissance chateau built by Bernard Zehusicky of Nestajov in the 1st half of the 16th century. During 1681-1691 it was reconstructed in Baroque style by the free lord of Kaiserstein. Further renovations took place in the 19th century. In 1059 it was turned into a retirement home and following 1989 it was returned to the descendents of the original owners.

Vízmburk Castle

At the highest point stood the castle with palace, whose core was a massive rock tower. A stairway leads to the top for a magnificent view. At the foot of the rock is a barrel vaulted cellar and the remains of the well, then in the fortified settlement rooms carved into the rocks and traces of beam structures. The castle ruins are freely accessible.
The castle was built in the late 14th century by Matěj Salava of Lípa, who later became a Hussite captain and an ally of the orebits. His son, however, conducted raids from here to Silesia and Lusatia, which is why the Silesians bought it and together with other castles demolished it in 1447. It was the only one to be later restored. In 1513, the Silesians tried to conquer the castle, but soon after it ceased to be inhabited. After the Battle of White Mountain, the evangelicals secretly met in the derelict castle grounds with the Czech brethren led by Bishop Matouš Ulický.

Skály (u Broumova) Castle

The ruins of Castle Brustejn, sometimes also called Silberstejn or Brecstejn, can be seen at Hradecek near Trutnov. The castle was founded in the first half of the 15th century and the first records on it date back to 1455, when it was owned by the Zilvar family of Pilnikov. From the latter half of the 16th century the castle was uninhabited and is mentioned as abandoned in the 17th century. As a structural type, it was a small face wall castle. An octagonal summer house was built on the remains of the palace in 1794 and demolished in the first half of the 20th century. High walls and a cellar in the southern part have been preserved.

Břecštejn Castle

The chateau was built in 1792 on the order of Earl Alphons Aichelburg at the locality where a manor used to be.
At present, the originally classicist chateau , later rebuilt in the neo-Renaissance style, is the dominant element of the municipality. The building is a one-storey structure, with the middle face side divided by a risalit completed with a triangular gable.

Horní Maršov Chateau

The original Early Gothic castle built above the town around 1254 was reconstructed in a Renaissance and Early Baroque style at the turn of the 17th century. In 1634 Náchod was acquired by O. Piccolomini, who left behind valuable collections of Dutch Gobelin tapestries and floral still lifes.
