In 1564, Albrecht Rohmháp completed the construction of the Neo-Renaissance fortress in Třemošnice. After Lichnice burnt down in 1610, the owner at the time, Zikmund Rohmháp, moved to the fortress permanently and had it reconstructed and enlarged. Supposedly even the significant architect Santini participated in the reconstruction of the fortress into a chateau. During reconstruction, the original fortress disappeared altogether and farm buildings were added to the chateau. Since 2005, the chateau has been in the ownership of private hands and has undergone total reconstruction.

The ruins of the Lichnice Castle (also: Lichtenburk Castle) are on the edge of the Iron Mountain near the village of Podhradí, in the municipality of Třemošnice, about 15 kilometres (9 mi) east of Čáslav.
The castle was probably a constructed as a royal base in the first half of the 13th century. It was first mentioned in 1261, when it was in possession of Smil of Ronow, who called himself Smil of Lichtenburg and thereby created the von Lichtenburg family.
The castle had a triangular floor plan with two residential towers. In the 14th century alterations were made to the castle, which was reacquired by the Bohemian Crown in 1410. During the Hussite Wars, the castle was conquered in 1421, and besieged unsuccessfully in 1428.
In 1490, the castle and estate of Lichtenburg were acquired by the Trčka of Lípa family, who rebuilt the castle in a late Gothic style.
The castle lost its importance at the end of the 16th Century and the fortifications were dismantled. By 1700, it was already described as a ruin.

Lichnice Castle

The history of the lord's mansion was already mentioned in 1664. The building of the former chateau was torn down in 1823 and a new one was built in 1825. At the end of the 19th century, thorough reconstruction in Pseudo-Gothic style was conducted. In the second half of the 20th century it served as the domicile for the head office of the East Bohemian State Forests.

Seč Chateau

Ruins of a Gothic castle extending over Seč Dam that was built in the 14th century. In the middle of the 16th century it was already abandoned. Walls of the palace, tower, ramparts and torsp of the gate have been preserved.

Oheb Castle

Hostacov is first mentioned as being a small defensive fortress which was completed by 1297. The site was chosen ostensibly because it is located upon a rocky outcrop on the end of a small spur of land that drops away steeply on three sides, surrounded on two sides by a stream and a river from the other. Along this river at the time it is said a quite important trading and pilgrimage route led from the old stone bridge downstream (which still stands) towards the monastery in Vilemov. The fourth, southern side was made defensible by the digging out of a moat.
This defensive structure was expanded by Heřman Bohdaneč of Hodkov between 1557 and 1583 into a zámek, or chateau in the Rennaisance style. At this time, there were 3 wings, which left the courtyard open to the west. The corridors facing the courtyard were all arcaded and left open on both the bottom and first floors.
Over the years, most probably under the ownership of Marie Magdalena Goltzová around the 1640?s, a fourth wing was built on the western side, enclosing the courtyard. During this stage, the open arches on the upstairs corridor were most probably also walled up, with large double windows installed, leaving the structure as we see it more or less today.

Hostačov Chateau

The castle foundations date back to 1120, when it was one of the largest Benedictine monasteries in Central Europe. The original founder of this monastery was an abbot called "William", and it is from his name that the later castle and town takes the name of "Vilémov". The monks who lived in this monastery are known to have eaten fish and frogs as their staple food source. Remains of their buildings may still be seen in the castle's foundations and park.
In 1421 the Hussites destroyed the monastery, leaving only the foundations. From these ruins a fortress was constructed in the year 1578.
Later the fortress was remodeled into a Renaissance castle. In 1684, Vilémov was bought by Count Caretto de Millesimo, Marquis of Savona.
In 1746 the castle was enlarged and its style changed from Renaissance to Baroque. The Italian architect Francesco Caratti designed the building; architectural details were added by artisans from Italy.
In 1852 the estate passed to Eckmuhl Josef Baron Reisky z Dubnic, great-grandson of Marie Alzbeta Countess Caretto de Millesimo and Frantisek Vaclav Baron Reisky z Dubnic. The Reisky family has owned the castle ever since, but during the Second World War it was taken over by the Nazis and the Reisky family was expelled.
In 1945 Russian Army troops under General Malinowski were quartered in the castle, and later in that same year it was returned to the Reisky family.
In 1948 the property was confiscated by the communist regime and was put to a variety of uses, including a boy's boarding school. All works of art and various other family keepsakes were removed or stolen during this period, and in 1991 when the estate was once again returned to the Reisky family, the buildings were empty and in complete disrepair.

Vilémov Chateau

The original Gothic stronghold was replaced by a Renaissance castle with later Baroque adaptations. In the 19th century the castle underwent a radical change incited by the owner V. K. Auersperg, who had the castle rebuilt in a romantic Gothic style and renaissance.

Žleby Chateau

The newly renovated resort was named after Klokočov Chateau, an 18th century Baroque building, surrounded by an English landscape garden with a pond. On the outskirts of the village of Klokočov not far from the Manor stands an Art Nouveau pub, which was built in the late 19th century. Together with an adjoining barn it is a part of the Klokočov Chateau Resort.

Klokočov Chateau

A Late Baroque building from 1784, reconstructed in 1876, with additions made in 1932-1933, situated in a large,significant English park. The chateau stands on the site where the original fort likely stood; referred to as a chateau after 1591, the building was burned by Imperial forces in 1623. The German general staff was situated at the chateau in the spring of 1945 and the chateau park was used as an airfield. In May Soviet troops took over the chateau and it subsequently served as a summer residence for the Ministery of Foreign Affairs. Since 1952 the chateau has served as a Prague retirement home.
