In its preserved form, the chateau is one of the most striking examples of Renaissance country residences of the middle nobility. Karel Záruba of Hustířan commissioned its construction. In recent years, the chateau underwent total reconstruction. Interiors are furnished with Renaissance furniture. The original painted decked ceilings from 1607-1610 have remained preserved in several rooms.

A wooden Fortress originally stood at the site of the present castle. king Ottokar II of Bohemia replaced it by a stone castle, which became the seat of the Lordship of Poděbrady. King John of Bohemia pledged the Lordship and the Castle to Hynek of Lichtenburg in 1345. When in 1350, Hynek's daughter Elizabeth (Czech: Eliska z Lichtemburka married Boček I of Poděbrady (d. 1373), the castle came into the possession of the Kunštát family. After Emperor Charles IV gave Poděbrady to Boček as a hereditary possession, Boček called himself Boček of Poděbrady, thereby founding the Poděbrady line of the Kunštát family.
According to legend, King George of Poděbrady, Boček's grandson, was born in the castle. After George's death in 1471, the Castle and Lordship of Poděbrady were inherited by his son, Henry the Younger of Poděbrady, whose heirs had to transfer ownership of both the castle and the lordship to King Vladislaus II of Bohemia and Hungary in 1495. Both were pledged several times before the loan was repaid by King Ferdinand I. They remained in the possession of the Bohemian Crown until 1839.
The castle was rebuilt several times. Between 1548 and 1580, it was reconstructed to a Renaissance style, after a design by Giovanni and Ulrico Aostalli and Hans Vienna. After the Thirty Years' War, the castle lost most of its importance. In 1723 and 1724, it was reconstructed in a Baroque style under the direction of the builder Franz Maximilian Kanka. Further modifications were made after 1750. Maria Theresa, in her capacity as Queen of Bohemia, stayed at the castle on several occasions. Under her son Joseph II, the castle was the residence of retired Imperial Army officers.
In 1839, the Crown sold the Castle and the Lordship to the Viennese banker Georg Simon Sina (1783–1856). Through marriage, the castle came into the possession of the Counts of Ypsilanti in 1884.

Poděbrady Castle

First mention of the Radovesnice Castle came from 1266. For the entire period of its existence, ownership rights were handed over to various owners several times. The most famous owners were leaders of the Sternberg ancestry (from 1651 to 1759). During this time, the Castle turned into its present day baroque design.
From 2008 to 2012, the Castle underwent extensive reconstruction. Leading experts took part in this reconstruction and design. The result is the Castle’s uniqueness, which apart from many other historical constructions in the Czech Republic, is not a mere reconstruction.

Radovesnice Chateau

Zásmuky Chateau, firstly mentioned in 1285 as a fortress of squire Sulislav of Zasmuky, kitchen master to Queen Guta, the wife of King Vaclav II. The Lords of Zásmuky owned the fortress until 1533, when it was bought by Adam of Rícany, who rebuilt the Gothic castle into a Renaissance chateau with open arcades into the courtyard. Zásmuky demesne was then sold to Jan Vchynský of Vchynice, the Royal Burgrave, in 1583.
After the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), which devastated whole Kingdom of Bohemia, was damaged chateau bought by an unscrupulous war profiteer, Vaclav Michna of Vacínov, who, within a year (in 1637) exchanged it with Jan Rudolph of Sternberg. His son, Adolph Vratislav of Sternberg (1630-1703), highest Burgrave of the Czech Kingdom, rebuilt Zásmuky in the spirit of the early Baroque by adding a tower, replacing the fortification with a park. Also a large complex of administrative and farming buildings with huge entrance tower, decorated with Sternbergs' coat of arms, was constructed.
The last Sternberg to live in Zasmuky was Leopold (1896-1957). In 1941, during the German occupation, the SS occupied Zasmuky and Leopold Sternberg with his family was forced to live elsewhere. In 1945 the properties were returned only to be confiscated in 1948 by the Communist Regime. In 1949 the Castle of Zasmuky was given to the Czech Army and it became a store for weapons. In 1982, due to uncertain circumstances, the house caught fire, which spread through the whole of the northeast wing. The burnt out shell remained unrepaired and further deteriorated until 1992 when it was returned to Diana Phipps Sternberg, the daughter of the last owner. She is trying to manage the estate so that the profits can help rebuild the house, or at least preserve it for future generations.

Zásmuky Chateau

Four-wing, single storey chateau with an arcade courtyard and park. The interior includes valuable frescoes. It was also owned by General Gideon Laudon, who conducted the reconstruction of the chateau.

Bečváry Chateau

The Přerov nad Labem municipality lies in the westernmost tip of the middle Labe (Elbe) river basin lowland. It is dominated by a Renaissance chateau, on a site once - probably as early as 10th century - occupied by a stronghold donated, together with the adjacent settlements, by St Adalbert of the Slavník dynasty to the Břevnov Benedictine Monastery.

Přerov nad Labem Chateau

Four-wing, two-storey chateau built on the site of a former water fortress from the 14th century. In the 17th century, during the ownership of Vaclav Neumann of Puchholce, the chateau was reconstructed in Baroque style.

Suchdol Chateau

The most valuable monuments in Lysá nad Labem include a Baroque chateau with an extensive park decorated by a unique set of Baroque sculptures made by Matthias Bernard Braun’s students. Today, the Lysa nad Labem Chateau serves as a retirement home. 
The town's setting is formed by a former 12th century Augustinian monastery and a Baroque chateau with a church. The town of Lysa significantly flourished and achieved good cultural reputation especially under the rule of Earl Frantisek Spork. A number of prominent Baroque artists, such as sculptor Matthias Braun and his students, worked at the chateau and throughout the demesne. Their sculptures form a unique sculpting complex, especially in the French part of the chateau park.
The park is a very interesting mini street with statues of each month. Behind each statue is the entrance to a separate mini block of chateau garden.

Lysá nad Labem Chateau

Hrádek resembles a small castle not only by its name. It does not have its castle tower, but who would need it at the end of 15th Century? In that times (as well as today) a house ought to represent wealth and taste of its owner. And the owner of this house could walk through the town in funny medieval shoes and no one could poke fun on him. He was respected in the same way as his house was. At least theoretically.

Hrádek Castle in Kutná Hora

Vlašský dvůr was only an ordinary fort designed to guard the roads. Later on it was rebuilt to king´s mansion, but the greatest change was during the rule of king Václav II, who collected all the bohemian mints there. There were two purposes why Václav II did this – firstly, there was a material for mints in Kutná Hora, secondly, king started the monetary reform that was aimed to unify the bohemian currency. To accomplish the task, king Václav II invited florentian lawyers and bankers, who impressed local people. The overall reconstruction of all complex is connected with the monetary reform. Central incustory room was built. Above this room a king´s chambers were built and on the circumference of the building small „šmitny“ were constructed.
Vlašský dvůr was an important centre of power as well. During the hussite wars Zikmund of Luxembourg built a base there from which he controlled his crusaders. He had found a kind support amongst local parvenues and barons. Kutná Hora never supported Hussites and 2000 of them were thrown to the drifts by Kutná Hora´s pro-catholic miners. They have even claimed that a person who would bring Hussite to town would be rewarded by a score of sous and who would bring Hussite priest would be rewarded by two scores of sous. It is of no surprise that people round Kutná Hora begun to disappear and number of people on the bottoms of the drifts started to raise. Later on a catholic king Vladislav II of Jagell was crowned here and he liked spending time in Vlašský dvůr. The last great assembly was called here in 1523. Reason for summoning the barons for the assembly was clear – amount of illegaly used silver was alarmingly high. As it is said – a chance makes criminals. The greatest robbers were, of course, of the aristocratic roots, but even miners and coinmakers weren´t innocent.

Vlašský dvůr Castle

Talmberk Castle was probably founded by Hroznata of Úžice from the Moravian family of Kounic. Between 1248 an 1286 he was the Burgrave of Prague Castle and in the service of King Václav II. The first existence of the castle is proven indirectly in 1297 in connection with Vilém of Talmberk - possibly Hroznata’s son. In 1312 Jošt called himself after Talmberk. He was a proven son of Hroznata who obtained Černice and Kácov soon after 1213 and became the founder of the Černický family of Kácov. In 1316 descendants of deceased Vilém, brothers Diviš and Nezamysl of Talmberk are mentioned as residing in Talmberk. Diviš was still alive in 1353. Between 1357 and 1374 the castle belonged to Ješek of Talmberk and between 1357 and 1382 to Vilém of Talmberk. In 1390 the castle was owned by Diviš of Talmberk. In that year the castle was unlawfully seized by Havel Medek of Valečko who imprisoned Diviš. He released Diviš only in 1397, due to the decision of the Land Court, and returned Talmberk to him.
Another record of Talmberk comes from 1473 when it was owned by Bedřich of Očedlice. In 1487 the castle belonged to Bedřich of Šumperk and Talmberk who in 1488 intended to sell the castle to the owner of the neighbouring Rataje estate, Bohuslav of Vamberk. The contract, however, was never signed. Following this, all record of Talmberk vanished until 1533 when it is remained as a part of the Čestín estate which was owned by Michal Slavata of Chlum. At that time the castle was already deserted.
Since then Talmberk Castle has been left to its destiny; inhabitants of the village under the castle started to use its stone to build and gradually, mainly in the course of the 18th and 19th century, they started to build their houses within the grounds of the castle.
