The chateau was built in the middle of the 16th century on the location of an old Gothic structure. The remains of the original structure are still evident in the cross vaults located on the ground level of the chateau. After a major fire in 1682, the chateau was rebuilt in a Baroque style. Its current design as a double-wing structure with a French mansard roof and a square clock tower dates back to 1767 when the property underwent a major reconstruction. Located on the first floor of the chateau is the original Renaissance banquet hall with its decoratively painted ceiling. The chateau was used as the town hall until 1849 and it later served as the seat of the local court. The first museum exhibits were installed in the chateau in 1908. The collections include paintings, folk art, porcelain, glass, furniture and clocks.

The Renaissance complex of the Červená Řečice Chateau originated with the reconstruction of the former Gothic castle. The castle was once surrounded by a water moat, part of which still survives today, that drew its water supply from the neighbouring cascade of ponds. From the late 12th century until the 1950s, it was the natural centre of the expansive estate of the Prague bishops and archbishops. Beginning in 1953, the entire complex began to deteriorate, and was used for storage, keeping farm animals, and its Baroque halls served as granaries. The situation began to improve in 1996. The first reconstructions began in 2011, and continue to this day.

Červená Řečice Chateau

Originally a fortress, rebuilt into a three-winged, two-stoery Baroque chateau in 1734. The courtyard is completed by a Baroque arcade, today the majority of it is walled-in.

Horní Cerekev Chateau

A stone - or rather an inaccessible granite rock was an ideal place for founding of a manor of the same name (in Czech "Kámen" means "The Stone"). Its older, Gothic section, from which only a palace remained, was founded probably in the 13th century. Newer buildings of the chateau date back to Baroque of the 17th century, in the 19th century it was influenced by the wave of romanticism. Following its restoration in 1970s, the castle and its imposing grounds house the Museum of Single-track Vehicles.

Kámen Castle

Initially constructed as a castle in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 16th century as a château by the Robmháp family of Suchá.
Notable owners include the imperial field marshal and martial councillor Sigismund Myslík of Hyršov and the Španovský family of Lisov. The Discalced Carmelites, who came to Pacov in 1708, started converting the palace into a monastery and the Abbey Church of St. Wenceslas in 1718. The famous architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer designed plans for further development in 1739. The building was ultimately reconstituted as a manor house after the monastery’s dissolution by Joseph II in 1787, its square layout being broken in 1884 when the east wing was torn down. In the 1860s the château housed a grammar school and teacher’s quarters where the poet Antonín Sova was born on February 26, 1864, as a son of the local schoolmaster Jan Sova. Sova’s birth is now commemorated by a JV Dušek monument on top of the ramparts. The Weiss von Tessbach family owned the château until May 1945 when it was appropriated by state authorities. From 1947 to 1992 it was occupied by the Czechoslovakian People’s Army. The château’s ongoing renovation started in 1997 when it once again became municipal property.
Today it houses the town council, Antonín Sova History Museum, public library, and Tourist Information Centre.

Pacov Chateau

he medieval Orlík by Humpolec Castle was abandoned in the early part of the 17th century and the only original parts of the structure that have been preserved are the rectangular tower, the entry gate and the remains of the residential buildings and walls. There are newly built elements, which include a bread oven and a replica of a 15th century ceramic stove. During summer months, visitors can try their hand at baking their own bread and practice their pottery-making skills. Every year in early July, the local Medieval Fair attracts hundreds of visitors to the castle.

Orlík u Humpolce Castle

Kamenice nad Lipou lies in the northwestern region of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, some twenty kilometres north of Jindřichův Hradec, in Pelhřimov District.
The chateau acquired its present Neo-classical appearance in the early 19th century.
In 1580–1583, the original 13th-century castle was converted into a Renaissance mansion graced by a courtyard with arcades and a garden. The Baroque entrance tower was built in 1744. The chateau is surrounded by an English landscape garden featuring a linden tree estimated to be 700–800 years old. Kamenice nad Lipou derives its name from the tree. In 1998, the chateau came under the management of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague (UPM). Following extensive restoration work carried out between 1998 and 2004, permanent collections were installed on the ground floor of the Renaissance north wing, where the Museum also holds short-term exhibitions. The south wing of the chateau houses exhibition installations administered by the Municipal Museum, and the Ceremonial Hall. The cellars with their Gothic Hall are also open to visitors.

Černovice Chateau

An early Gothic castle, expanded in the late Gothic era and rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau, with subsequent Baroque adaptations. Its interiors and former chapel boast a set of late-Gothic frescoes. The chateau houses the collections of the municipal museum and gallery. Newly accessible is also the chateau tower, offering a view of the town and its surroundings. 
Permanent exhibition: button-making and use of mother-ofpearl, historical sewing machines, the Jan Havlík Gallery. 
Exhibition of Rural Traditions and Crafts The chateau grange – a silo – was built in the early 18th century. It has undergone a number of building adaptations, but its purpose did not change for a great, long time, although the storage of grain was replaced by the storage of various unneeded items until its 2007 renovation. The original Baroque have today house an exhibition of rural traditions and crafts. 
One wing of the chateau is devoted to contemporary modern art. Four halls house an exhibition of fi ne art: oils by the academic painter Jan Havlík; objects made of soft linden tree wood, by the academic sculptor Karel Hlava; prints and paintings by Pavel Roučka; and book illustrations by the academic painter František Severa.

Žirovnice Chateau

Ever since the early 14th century Lipnice Castle has been standing as a guard in the countryside of the Sazava valley. It was build on a promontory, from which we can admire a breathtaking view as far as to the tops of Zelezne hory or Zdarske vrchy. Formerly a medieval little town, the present town of Lipnice nad Sazavou, connected primarily with the name of the writer Jaroslav Hasek, lies just under the castle. Both the castle and the town were established by the mighty family of Ronovec and later Lipnice was a domain of plenty of significant noble families and Czech kings.
Hrad LipniceIn the times of Cenek of Vartenberk, more precisely in 1417, the first Hussite priests were ordained in the Lipnice Castle chapel and under almost two-hundred-year-long reign of the Hussite knight family Trcka of Lipa the castle was rebuilt to an impressive late-Gothic residence. From the 18th century the castle came to dilapidate and in 1869 it burned down entirely. In the 20th century it was partially renovated and reconstructed. Gradual repairs are still being done. Lipnice Castle stands out as an interesting example of various approaches to historical monuments renovation in the course of the 20th century.

Lipnice nad Sázavou Castle

he originally Gothic Stronghold of Roštejn was rebuilt in the 16th century and turned into a Renaissance hunting estate. After being struck by lightning in 1915, the castle suffered a major fire and it was not until the 1960 s that the property began to be slowly restored. It was finally opened to the public in 1969. The castle is currently home to a museum. Its exhibits include collections of porcelain, pottery, pewter and period furniture. There is also an exhibit of weapons used in hunting, an exhibit of stone cutting, as practiced in the Vysočina Region, and an exhibit on the natural treasures of the surrounding Jihlava Hills. The dominant feature of the castle is its 45-meter high heptagonal tower that can be climbed as part of the tour of the castle so that visitors can enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside. The castle s historic halls are used as a venue for wedding ceremonies and other social gatherings. In June, during the annual historical banquet, the castle s courtyard is transformed into a medieval marketplace; and, in August, it becomes the location of traditional jazz performances. Summer weekends, the castle is open to visitors for night tours with an accompanying program.
