In the 16th century, the originally Gothic castle was rebuilt in a representative Renaissance chateau. The best-known and most significant owner was Kryštof Harant of Polžice and Bezdružice (1564-1621), the famous traveller, writer and musician.
The was castle burnt in 1830 and in the course of time it was nearly ruined. At present, it is open to the public.

Originally it was a fortress with a simple Renaissance look, which was built by Jan Stráník, whose father bought Studenec in 1584. The fortress was first mentioned in 1623, when it was bought by Albrecht von Wallenstein. Later the building was rebuilt in Baroque style with offices and flats for officials. In 1833, Charles Berger from Bergental rebuilt and extended the fort, modified the interiors and built the southwest wing in pseudo- Renaissance form. After these renovations, the chateau has remained preserved to this day.

Studenec Chateau

Originally was there a fortress from the 14th century, which was rebuilt by George Bedrich of Oppersdorf between 1693 - 1703 in the baroque castle by builder Klupf. The Seven Years' War desolated the manor and the castle served as the seat of both opposite masters belligerentes alternately. After the year 1766 had made Josef Jan Sosnovec of Vlkanova some great repairs. In 1846 a great fire spent the Miletín manor and during the year 1847 was in the Empire style restored. Miletín Castle

Because of massive renovation work, we do not know much about the original look of the castle. At the northeastern side, there are remnants of probably a walled fortification that may have been developed along the whole core structure. The fortification to protect against cannon attack is one of the best examples of the efforts made in the mid 15th century to protect places in an active way. From 1621 Kumburk was in the possession of Albrecht of Valdštejn. After his death, the castle changed hands several times and then, after 1658, Kumburk was nearly destroyed. In spite of that, nowadays it belongs among our most interesting castles.

Kumburk Castle

Two-storey building with mansard roof and tower. On the southern facade of the small bay, originally a chapel and two cylindrical corner towers. On the ground floor of a glazed arcade of the courtyard. A two-armed staircase leads to a large park from the main building of the chateau.

Holovousy Chateau

The lords of the House of Poličan and Hustířan lived in the château from 1382. In 1540 – 1560, Bílé Poličany came into the ownership of Sigmund and Albrecht von Schmiritz and the widely branched House of Wallenstein ruled there from the mid-16th century. Albrecht von Wallenstein became a significant owner in 1623. The original wooden fortress was not rebuilt as a stone one until 1657. During the first half of the 18th century, the chateau was reconstructed once again. It has been the property of the Hasičská vzájemná pojišťovny, a.s. since 1999 and that company has undertaken significant reconstruction work there since 2004.

Bílé Poličany Chateau

The history of the castle is very rich; it had always been in the possession of important Czech noble families. It is even possible that it was owned by Emperor Charles IV.
The castle located on two basalt hills (557 m above sea level) used to provide excellent defence against riders. Up to the present time, the remnants of three walls are visible (former tower) and fragments of the walls and contours of the buildings. On the western side, on the vertical rock, there is a little platform that offers a spectacular view of the Jičín region and Český ráj.

Bradlec Castle

When he died, the construction work was completed in 1582, on the order of his widow, Marie of Martinice. There were two storeys, the first was made of stone and the second was wooden, with galleries and a spiral at the top of the roof. The chateau was decorated with sgraffito and signs. During the Thirty Years War the building was seriously damaged and the upper floor was burnt out. During the repair work, the signs and the decorations were covered with plaster. In 1868 Count Jan of Harrach had the plaster removed but only a part of the former decorations were saved. In 1994 the facade was restored.
A part of the exposition in the chateau is dedicated to J. A. Komenský, who stayed there for several months before he left the country in 1628.

Horní Branná Chateau

The chateau in Jilemnice originates from the 16th century; it was built by the Křinecký family of Ronov.Then the property was inherited by the Harants of Polžice and Bezdružice. In 1701 the chateau was bought by the active noble family of Harrach, who enlarged the chateau (1714, 1895) and gave it its present look. During the Second World War their assets were confiscated and after the war the building and the lands were in the possession of Czechoslovak authorities. At present, the chateau is the residence of the Krkonoše Museum that was founded by Jáchym Metelka, the Director of the Girls' School, and Jan Buchar, a teacher (the exhibits come from the collections for the Czechoslovak Ethnographic Exhibition in 1891.
The museum displays rarities, such as Metelka's mechanical sound crib (1883 - 1913) or the finest linen yarn in the world. There are magnificent fully grown trees in the adjacent park, including a robust linden tree aged 250 years, the oldest tree in the town. Opposite the main gate to the park, there is a monument dedicated to František Pošepný, the world-famous geologist. The main entrance into the park is from Kostelní Street.

Jilemnice Chateau

The Libosad stretches along the north-east edge of Jičín. It is connected with the town by a 2-km linden alley. The chateau and loggia were built by Albrecht von Wallenstein and received a Classicist design after being damaged by a fire. The park surrounding the chateau boasts rare woods.
The Libosad is a park not far to the north-east of Jičín. The first half of the 17th century saw a Carthusian monastery built in Valdice, not far from Jičín. The owner of the Jičín dominion, Albrecht von Wallenstein had a Baroque-style chateau with a large garden and game preserve built between the monastery and Jičín in 1630 - 1634. He also had a four-lane 1.7-km alley from Jičín to the chateau. Around 1000 trees used to grow in the alley. The chateau was reconstructed in the Classicist style before it welcomed the visit of Austrian Emperor Franz I. Later, the chateau was not used and decayed. The Libosad park adjoining the chateau consists of three parts. The upper part of the park immediately behind the chateau boasted a lovely landscaping design with several arbours, fountains and copious flower patches. The lower part of the park, further off the chateau, was used as a utility garden and adjoined the game preserve. The park has both coniferous trees, such as larch, spruce and pine, and deciduous trees. The most interesting species of deciduous trees include the Honey locust, tall White poplar, rare Manna ash as well as the red-leaf beech. The park is a protected area and occupies 2.016 hectares. 
The edge of the Libosad park is approached by a marked hiking route from Jičín. It is possible to stroll through the park along forest paths. If we keep walking along this hiking route, we will reach the town of Valdice with an originally Carthusian monastery converted into a prison. It is also possible to reach Libosad by train as there is a railway station near the park. The western edge of the park features the point of departure of another hiking route heading north-west past the Rumcajs restaurant to the forests of Bohemian Paradise. This hiking route is also open to cyclists. The Valdice brook flows through the eastern part of Libosad and feeds a pond built on the brook in the middle of the game preserve and accessible along a forest path. There is a well-preserved Jewish cemetery not far to the south of the game preserve on the right bank of a pond. We can enjoy the view of the linden alley and Libosad from the Čeřovka observation tower situated at the northern border of Jičín.

Libosad Chateau

The picturesque Renaissance chateau surrounded with a park is a natural centre of Vrchlabí.
It was built in the place of an originally Gothic fort by Kryštof Gendorf, an entrepreneur in mining industry in the mid 16th century. The chateau is surrounded by a moat with three falling bridges. The moat was filled up at the beginning of the 19th century. All four corners of the chateau have distinctive octagonal towers with onion-shaped domes. The chateau is completed with a natural landscaped park with exotic tree species and artificial lakes. There is a marked trail that will take you around the park.
As regards the interiors, only the lounge is open to the public and the other rooms area used by the City Authority. The park is open.
