A fortress built in the 10th and 11th centuries; around 1600 it was rebuilt as a Renaissance chateau. The façade of the chateau features sgraffito, and the interior holds a beautiful vaulted entrance hall. Located on the ground floor today are an information centre and ceremonial hall; the first floor houses a museum and gallery.

The castle was probably built during the end of the 13th century, on a hilltop above the village, and was known under the german name Sunenberg (or Sonnenberg, later Sommerberg), which means sun (german = Sonne) mountain (or later namend summer (german = Sommer) mountain). Its walls formed a pentagon and were surrounded by a deep moat, with a service yard was placed next to the castle. Later, a township grew up under the hill.
The first known owner of the castle and neighbouring villages was a robber knight; ownership of the castle changed many times afterwards. At the beginning of the 18th century, the castle was not inhabited, though during 1760–70 a physician lived there. The castle became desolate and was left to be a source of construction material.
During 1926–48 the castle was owned by the Club of Czech Tourists, and its structure was stabilized to prevent further destruction. Today the village is responsible for its maintenance, and access to the castle is unlimited and free.

Žumberk Castle

Ruins of small Rabštejnek Castle can be found near village Rabštejn (administrative part of village Rabštejnská Lhota) in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic.
The Gothic style castle was constructed on a small rock during first half of the 14th century for a local nobleman. The name originates in German Rabenstein, meaning raven's nest (because of resemblance of a nest). Current form of the name was used since cca 1450. Castle ownership had changed frequently between several noble families, the king and town Chrudim. Toward the end of the 16th century the place was reported as abandoned. During the second half of the 19th century the ruins were reconstructed in romantic style to serve as a shelter for hunts by local nobility.
A rectangular dungeon (donjon, a tower), narrowly sized building and smaller tower on opposite side were cramped on the rock. The structures were designed high because of lack of space. Rectangular rampart was surrounded by a moat. The inbuilt structure added in the 19th century had pseudo-romanesque windows decorated by sgraffitos.
Before World War II remnants of the castle were maintained. After the war it was nationalized, the furniture moved out and the rest left to decay.
Today, the ruins are freely accessible.

Rabštejnek Castle

The interiors received their present appearance at the turn of 19th and 20th centuries, when inhabited by Prince Franz Joseph of Ausperg´s family. Open to visitors are private rooms and those used for social functions, as well as production and service premises. A separate tour will take them through the hippological exposition, as the owners were passionate horse breeders. The adjoining stud farm is still in operation. The chateau English park boasts many rare trees and shrubs.

Seč Chateau

The newly renovated resort was named after Klokočov Chateau, an 18th century Baroque building, surrounded by an English landscape garden with a pond. On the outskirts of the village of Klokočov not far from the Manor stands an Art Nouveau pub, which was built in the late 19th century. Together with an adjoining barn it is a part of the Klokočov Chateau Resort.

Klokočov Chateau

Ruins of a Gothic castle extending over Seč Dam that was built in the 14th century. In the middle of the 16th century it was already abandoned. Walls of the palace, tower, ramparts and torsp of the gate have been preserved.

Oheb Castle

Reference is made in the founding document to the Chrudim castle and to Old Chrudim. The sovereign required the newly founded town to be fortified with walls and moats. Only traces of the castle are in evidence today: a bearded head with a wide-brimmed hat, a bishop's head wearing a ceremonial cap, a gargoyle's head, and two shields can be seen on the outside.
The so-called Zizka's tower formed part of the castle and town defenses. The tower was razed in 1846, needlessly, without research or documentation. It was a two-story structure with a shingle roof; accessible by ladder; its ground floor walls were 2.25 meters wide.
The tower Hlaska, a tall, square tower with a turret bearing the town emblem, formed another part of the castle's original fortification. In its day it provide living quarters for the town's crier or trumpeter. The tower collapsed in 1717 and has not been rebuilt. Three gates guarded entry to the walled inner town.

Chrudim Castle

Following the Thirty Years War the Renaissance chateau served as the summer residence of the Hradec Králové bishops. The adapted chateau courtyard and the museum concert hall (the former chateau chapel with original paintings) serve for concert performances. The Roman Hall and Chinese Room with paintings by Antonín Machek in the Town Office are used for weddings and ceremonial occasions. The chateau includes gardens that were changed into a park in 1903 by architect Thomayer of Prague. Preserved today are the original roses, rare trees such as tulip-tree, yellow cedar, and others. Beyond the park walls is a linden alley, at the end of which stands the Chapel of St. John Nepomuk. The Town Museum with a gallery and exhibition spaces is housed in three wings of the chateau.

Chrast Chateau

In 1744 Jan Václav Leveneur from Grunvald bought the estate of Štěpánov with five villages. Somewhere in the second half of the 18th century the Leveneurs had the old fort torn down and built a one–storey late baroque chateau with two wings, a small tower and Virgin Mary chapel.
In 1853 the last member of the Leveneur family Antonín Vít sold the chateau to František Siegmund. He had new parts added to the building according to the project of František Schmoranz, a designer from Chrudim and the author of the neogothic reconstruction of the Žleby castle. A new floor was added in both garden facing wings in 1858, replacing the former wooden passage gallery. A staircase was built in the north-west wing and a new room was added to the south-east wing.
The last major reconstruction took place in 1936, resulting in a grand entrance hall comprising both floors, a long stylish balcony on the south-east wall and larger windows. Large technical area was built in the basement.

In 1948 the chateau was put under state control, assigned to the School of Agriculture and later used as a dormitory for secondary building school. It was returned to the original owner in 1993 and after substantial reconstruction between 1997-2001 it is now ready to serve many purposes.
Spacious apartments were built on the first floor, offering chateau-style accommodation for up to 14 people. Twelve more people can be accommodated in a detached house above the garden. An indoor pool was built in the historic glasshouse.
