The first written mention of Skalat dates from 1564, and the construction of the castle belongs to the castle in 1630, in the valley of the river rot on all four sides was surrounded by a deep moat. The plan is close to a square with four five-pointed powerful towers and low walls.

By planning the configuration lock is close to a square with four identical pentagon corner tower and accomodation along the east wall. In the northern defensive wall was entrance gate, and outside the castle surrounded by a moat and ramparts. During the armed conflict in Podolsk lands in the second half of the XVII century. castle suffered considerable damage. In the XVIII century. it was rebuilt: built palace Gate tower, built a corner tower. As such, the castle lasted until the beginning of the XX century. During the First World War it was destroyed.

 

Existing corner tower of the castle is the result of restoration work 60-ies of XX century. Built of local sandstone tower with a basement level. The towers consist of four layers of ground and high ends of the tent roof tile covering. In the two lower tiers of land other than square, arranged and characteristic of cross-Podolsk locks loopholes. On the third floor are the mashykuli; loopholes fourth tier with klyuchopodibnu form. Monument of defensive architecture is a prime example of regular tower castles skirts XVII.
